Ambience 5/5 - very nice and posh decor yet doesn’t feel uncomfortably too much - I wish there’s more privacy between each table though Service 5/5 - very friendly and accommodating staffs - we went there to celebrate an anniversary and was willing to pay for a cake, but Blanc has offered a complimentary cake for us. Very touching! - we also asked a lot of questions about the menu and the ingredients which the staffs were patiently explained to us and recommend the best options for us based on our preferences Food 5/5 - omg I would come back here every time I’m in Penang - from the yuzu butter in the beginning til sweet ending with chocolate earl grey, every course was executed perfectly and I couldn’t have expected more! This was beyond my high expectation - do try their iberico pork! Taste sooooo flavorful Will I come back? Yes yes yes and I will bring all my friends with me !

Although people always told us that we should go for local food when we go Penang but I would seriously recommend you make a visit to Blanc for a nice dining experience at a very reasonable price (we live in Singapore where fine dining is charged at a extra premium). For context, we are not chefs nor food critics but just normal people who likes to go fine dining once a while. Absolutely love the food, how the chef executed each dish, making western asian fusions that tastes right in your mouth. You can really feel that the chef puts a lot of thoughts in all these dishes, bringing out the best from every ingredient and putting different layers in your mouth. The good: - The Western and Asian fusion - The vibe - The braised foie gras, the tausapia dessert, basically most of the food we had The bad: nope. It was a really good meal for us

We visited Blanc for dinner and had a great dining experience. From the moment you enter the gates to when you step in the restaurant, everything was perfect. Great care has been taken in giving the diners an unforgettable meal. We ordered the Menu Indulgence and was recommended a bottle of Rose to go with it. The Rose complimented our dishes and it went down smooth. Dishes were played with exquisite care and I enjoyed the majority of them. However, I was quite full towards the end as the Indulgence Menu was an 11 course menu and couldn't finish the complimentary anniversary cake nor the Rose. Nevertheless, we were able to take away them both. The staff invited us to take photos at their sister bar The Cellar. LA, Sheena and another member whose name eludes me were great hosts. They introduced each dish with zest and provided an exemplary service. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a fine dining experience in Penang to visit Blanc.

Restaurant Blanc is located within Macalister mansion. It's a fine dining restaurant with 2 choices of set dinner. Degustation and Indulgence are both you need to choose from. They are similar but Indulgence has additional added from Degustation. Opt for indulgence and below pictures are in order of the service. Homemade Brioche, Tomato Cornetto, Hamachi Mosaic, Chili Crab Sandwich, Chicken & Puff, Charred Dover Sole, Iberico Pork, Pou Zai Fan, Grape Gelee, Forest Logs, Sweet Ending. When each food is served, you will be explained the contents. It will be a long write up if I go Into details. Nevertheless, you should try it yourself to experience the quality and service from the crew. note: Non Halal.

Good experience for dining here. All foods are good and tasty. Some look weird but surprisingly tasty. All waitress are friendly and helpful. We come for birthday celebration and they serve a dessert without charges. This is really worth for money.

Made a trip to Penang, a city well-known for its local hawker and street-food but was enticed to try out @RestaurantBlancPenang, an intimate restaurant situated at the historical yet magnificent Macalister Mansion. Who would have thought that in Penang, one would get to experience fine French contemporary cuisine and Blanc delivers just that. With impeccable selection of locally sourced and finest seasonal ingredients, chef Benny Yeoh serves up elegant dishes that are beautifully plated and sophisticated on the palette. On a personal POV, the overall experience having dined there, Blanc should deserve a Michelin star as it checks all the criteria of a Michelin-worthy restaurant! Definitely a restaurant to check out if you’re in Penang!

We love the local food here in Penang but decided to give this place a try and had zero regrets. Service was impeccable! Every dish was so innovative it was a whole experience unpacking each course, and so yummy too. Special mention to the bartender whose secret cocktails really brought together the whole experience. We also appreciated the little something they prepared for my partner for his birthday! Worth every cent, thank you for the wonderful night :)

I wasn't having much expectations prior to the visit. As we entered, the ambience was soothing and inviting. When we were to order, there were some miscommunications (I believe a less experienced staff promised us something then another came and said not possible). The limited main course selection was the only downside for the night. I wouldn't want to spoil the courses but they did an awesome job curating it. The balance of making it "interesting" yet tying the food back to it's origin is impeccable. Excuse the picture of the beef as I like tasting flavors separately. The best part was the desserts. We weren't much into desserts, usually just having a bite and leaving the rest, but at Blanc, we gobbled up everything. Yes it was that good! All in all, good job to the culinary team. If Blanc were to move to Klang Valley I believe the wait list will be crazy. Watch out Darren Chin!

Place and ambient is nice but that's the only good thing I can say about Blanc. Food portion is small. Nothing special about the food. For this kind of price tag, I would expect they serve fresh food but no, they dare to serve frozen scallop. Ordered wagyu, extra rm200 but came only 3 slices like eating sashimi. Don't even have the sweet wagyu taste. Food service is also EXTREMELY SLOW. Have to wait 15-20 mins in between each dish. Everyone in the restaurant was just playing with phone while waiting for food to be served. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!

Its a very nice and special fine dining experience. Before that I have tried out some fine dining which fixed of three to five course meals (including appetiser, main course and dessert) BUT all the course meals in the Blanc are full of surprises by chef 😍 We have ordered degustation menu which is RM298+ by serving 8-9 fine course meal. Every meals served within 15 to 20 minutes and they are so professionally explaining the ingredients of the meals before serving. And they do provided complimentary birthday cake too! 🍰 Although all the meals are served in small portion but all the ingredients used are freshly prepared and delicious. We did enjoyed the meals with the cosy environment. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place, great food, nice ambience, attentive & lovely staffs. This sum up the experience with Blance. All the courses was superb. Not sure why the rabbit is caged inside though lol

Place was really beautiful though the atmosphere was like being in a very quiet . Excellent eating experience for first timers like us 9-11 courses to sample. I call it sample as it is all very tiny! I appreciated the decorative courses more than the typical dishes! Some really creative dishes for sure. The most delicious one was the scallops, and the coolest one was the cone. Don't take them out of the menu! For the price and experience, I would have liked an attention like bread or a sorbet to pallette cleanse, but we didnt get that although service was good.

Had a fabulous Christmas Eve dinner at Blanc with the family. Very impressed with Chef Benny’s technique and creativity, something that we only had aboard so far. We did not expect to experience such culinary masterpiece in Malaysia. Thank you so much Chef Benny and team for the wonderful meal. Please keep up your great work. We will make sure to drop by your place the next time we visit Penang!

We had the 5 course French menu at Blanc and it was amazing. The food is superb, scrumptious, and enchanting. Service was attentive and warm. Venue is classy. Highly recommend this place, really worth a visit if you travel to Penang.

Absolutely superb dining experience. Yes it’s expensive by Penang standards. It it’s clearly world class food. In beautiful surroundings. The chef does an amazing job with high quality ingredients and the 5 course degustation is extremely generous with 2 amuse bouche and a stunning pallet cleanser. I enjoyed the theatrics of the presentation of the main lamb dish. This is a chef and restaurant that will become the pinnacle of what Penang high quality dining can be.

We thoroughly enjoyed the 5-course French meal offered by Chef Alfred and his team. Every dish was delightfully scrumptious and moreish. Extensive red and white wines are also available to complement and enhance the flavours of these dishes. Service is warm & attentive whilst the venue is elegant & classy. Truly a memorable experience!

We came here for our anniversary, would have to say the place had a cozy ambience, service was prompt and friendly, presentation was exquisite and the chef gave us free desert for the occasion. Though the bill was a bit steep, it’s highly recommended for a night of fine dining in Georgetown Penang. Compliments to the chef and team.

Had dinner with my friends for a special occasion. The manager asked for our dietary restrictions 2 days in advance. We had 2 different menu for each couples and 4 bottles of wines. The whole experience was great and the chefs came out to chat with us at the end of the dinner. It was a fantastic experience as every single dishes was curated carefully with lots of effort. The price is reasonable with the quality of food that we got. Wine selection is extensive and all 4 wines were great. We enjoyed our night so much that we stayed there from 7.15pm to almost 11pm. The place is great for photos too. Highly recommend to visit if you are looking for a true fine dining place.

Been many years in Penang and its still one of the best dining. Great food and fusion style, nice plating. Many selection of drinks, stylish and romantic ambience in heritage boutiques hotel. Love all the food here. The price is suitable with the food they offered are. Its a set dinner and choices. Staff area friendly and very helpful. Again very recommended!

“ Food is everything we are. It’s an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma. It’s inseparable from those from the get-go.” Was recommended by my girlfriend Joyce and she is right , the food was excellent and server was professional ! The machine slice mango dessert is good too ! But I wish to have chocolate kind of dessert instead , maybe in the future would give us some option same like the main course ? By the way Saw the chef wearing white , he look nervous and shy In-front of the guest which make him look kind cute ! But we don’t think the uniform suits him , maybe is the design None other than that Good Job Team Blanc ! Will visit you all again soon !

Wow....What an amazing experience. The food was outstanding. So many beautiful creations. Everything didn't just taste great but also looked great. The presentation was beautiful. Highly recommend for a wonderful and unique journey that takes you through so many of the local flavours in a way you've never experienced.

Visited Blanc few months back before the pandemic strike ! Overall the experience was delightful, When we arrive with my bestie was greeted by the server named Sheena or Cena ( if my memory serve me right ) she was very professional and knowledgeable about the wine that they serve and It was really impressing to me . Compare with other so call fine dining restaurant Penang that we visited , staff at Blanc really know what are they doing ! The whole night ended with a lovely mango dessert I believe inspired by Cantonese Mango dessert which they slice the mango thinly and shaped into peddles of rose , serve with coconut ice cream was just delightful ! ( writing this review really make me crave for it ) Will definitely drop by again soon but we hope in the future we can interact with the chef more so we can understand what’s inspired him or her to create those dishes serve at Blanc ! PS : the chef at Blanc is eye catching as well , nicely groom with a big warm smile . Fit and professional looking . Blanc really have the whole “ package “

Many selection of wines/drinks, stylish and romantic ambience in heritage boutique hotel, Macalister Mansion. Love all the food here. It’s a set dinner and choices of main course and additional course also wine pairing. Choices of thread-fin fish that night was fab with its crispy skin. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Happy that the resto caters for gluten free diet guest. Again, very recommended!
