Food serve fast but drinks serve slow. Service still acceptable as they are responding fast to us. Aka ramen is not spicy at all but maybe japanese aka ramen doesn’t taste spicy still taste good. Gyoza tastes not good at all 😭

Ippudo fried rice was ok. There are others way better than this. I like the noodles and broth of Karaka special but the pork loin and pork belly with "porky" smell is not to my liking.

Ippudo is a pretty good and standard ramen place with a lot of broth options. I like the spicy broth too. Price is of course higher but that will be the case for all good quality ramen. There is also other options such as sashimi and rice options. Food is served fast. Oh there is bean sprouts in the ramen. Be sure to order without bean sprouts if you prefer so.

The first time I visit. After taken the ramen, I feel the ramen a bit hard. So after I finish and do payment at counter, I ask the girl and also she serve me wan, why the ramen a bit hard, she say like that wan because you have to choose you wan soft or hard ramen. After I heard what she say, I feel her service is very bad. Why? When I order time she didn't mention to me that the ramen you can choose either soft or hard. Some more the tune she talk to me when I ask her, like I know the ramen can cook hard or soft. Very bad service.

Once you enter, the loud music greets you. Food is on the salty side. Rice portions are not so big but the ramen is generous. Taste is not too bad. But the loud music is off putting.

Nice food, tentative service by the crews. Tend to be crowded and need to queue up during peak hour

I order a take away ramen @ counter, and the service was sucks. I asked for soft noodle texture, and was told it was not allowed for take away... If cannot serve a softer noodle texture, why provide this selection for customer to choose? Then special request for chilli to pack separately, since the diner cannot take spicy food... Just in case, it's too spicy for him. Found out that chilli was added to the noodle and not separated. (Ignore customer request) Lastly, this was the most frustrated. I brought my own stainless steel food container for take away packing, they pack the noodles n meat into the container but NOT the soup. The soup was pack with a plastic bag and put inside Ippudo take away box. ARE YOU SURE THE PLASTIC BAG IS SAFER THAN THE CONTAINER? Speechless....check the photo for the plaatic bag n container - which one better?

Great environment, good service and nice food! The only request I have is to possibly make the portion of the ramen slightly bigger especially with the price we're paying for. But regardless, it's a nice place to be in! FYI, if it's your birthday month you get to claim one jug of mango drink! (available as of 17 July 2022)

Spontaneous decision to revisit this place for lunch while shopping in the mall after recalled the delicious ramen that I had in the past. I think the quality, taste and standard is still maintained. Had the Kara Ramen, which is one of my favourite. The only set back is that it is a bit pricy. However, cashier lady was very friendly and explained to me on the ongoing promotion within Queensbay Mall where I get RM30 off from RM100 spent.

This must be the most expensive Ramen I ate in Penang but also the most delicious. RM80 for two bowl of Ramens and glass of green tea is on the steep side. Anyway, will be patronage this shop if I really craving good bowl of Ramen, although I'm sure will not be a frequent visit.

Spicy Miso Akamaru Ramen not up to expectation. Price is above average and small portion.

Ramen was nice but I miss Japanese ramen! So sad that my expectation is going to be higher now.

I ordered the family combo set. The ramen tastes good, but the original soup is average. The price is considered expensive but within my expectations. Personally, I find the food a bit salty, but it's still within an acceptable range

I am not a Ramen lover but I enjoy it very much. Although it was not the best ramen I have taste but it is was a good experience. The service was good. The waitress was passionate and keep recommend us nice food.

Ordered the Shiromaru Special and Kuro special. Both of the broths are rich and not salty. But the taste of Kuro Special is nicer because the bean sprout smell is not so strong. Pork is soft and tender.

You can get a free scoop of ice cream here by writing a 5 star Google review at the end of your meal - I believe this is the reason for the restaurant’s high rating here on Google. This restaurant charges a 10% service fee, and the pricing is quite up there, yet, they don’t serve complimentary filtered water to guests - as such, I would only give 3 stars for the service. (Note: The servers were friendly and attentive, no complains there at all) Appetizers ordered: • Edamame - not fresh and they left the beans still on the stem in a bunch, making it unappetizing. • Spicy Goma Q - nice spicy cucumber cold dish • Saikoro Steak - the accompanying cooked cabbage was not really cut into serving sizes, steak was OK • Salmon Belly Sashimi - yummy • Chicken Nanban - the batter is too thick, not much chicken, wouldn’t recommend Mains ordered were overall decent. • Akamaru Special Ramen • Spicy Niku Soba Special • Aka Shoyu Special • Pork Ippudo fried rice In summary, this is a decent ramen place if you don’t mind the higher price tag + 10% service charge + don’t expect them to provide water like normal ramen restaurants do in Japan.

Good deal weekday set - 1 ramen + 1 side at RM34++. Nice ramen and good service.

The food here is really nice. The Ramen and soup is really good too. Love their Karaka Ramen especially. The spiciness and the hot soup just makes everything better. The fried chicken is really nice too. Crispy, soft, and juicy.

While I definitely enjoyed my bowl of Ippudo Kuro Special here, I wasn't as impressed with its service. Phone was permanently engaged, and a reservation request via its Whatsapp link went unheeded until the very last couple of hours before the targeted time with a couple of frantic phone calls from the crews requesting for info I had provided in the Whatsapp (system is broken it seems). Service onsite was fine though, thankfully. Overall, wasn't a good experience given the price point (expensive) - expected better.

Ordered the classic ramen Shiro and Umakara Cheese (Seasonal menu) Turns out the cheese ramen taste good. The cheese is well blend with the soup. Didn't take overly cheesy. The classic ramen tastes great too. The service crew is very helpful especially Jane. She explains the meal and the membership very detail.
