afternoon,
we
stopped
at
Teels
for
coffee,
attracted
by
the
inviting
ambience
of
the
small
coffee
lounge
on
the
ground
floor.
It
was
not
a
good
sign
already
when
we
walked
in
and
our
presence
was
not
acknowledged,
the
two
staff
working
behind
the
coffee
bar
continued
on
to
potter
around
with
their
work,
as
if
we
weren’t
there.
The
used
table
next
to
ours
was
left
not
cleaned
for
as
long
as
we
were
there,
it
was
unsightly.
The
restrooms
left
us
all
very
turned
off.
The
floor
was
wet
and
sticky,
the
toilet
bowl
was
stained,
and
the
toilet
seat
was
dirty
and
wet.
There
was
no
toilet
roll.
Whilst
the
Gula
Melaka
Latte
was
invitingly
cold
and
the
aromatic,
it
was
over-priced
by
Penang
cost
standards
and
for
the
size
of
the
drink.
We
felt
like
we
were
getting
in
the
way
of
the
two
“very
busy
staff”
who
had
no
one
else
to
serve
but
us,
really.
Overall,
the
service,
the
staff
attitude,
the
condition
of
the
restroom
does
not
match
with
the
rich
heritage
ambience
it
tries
to
portray.
