I stayed here during the month of September and if my 5 stars are anything to go on, you can guess I had a great time. Everything was perfect from the amazing host receiving us to the actual room, the view and the tasty breakfast the next morning, I can happily recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a romantic getaway. Moontide is walking distance from most restaurants including the beach.

I traveled with my wife, my daughter and 9 American friends and we loved it so much that we came back the next month with 12 more friends! Every single person in our group said that Moontide was their favorite place to stay in all of South Africa. The staff is amazing. They are so helpful and friendly. They helped direct us to everything local. From the restaurants to the hikes and outdoor excursions. The Chefs make the best omelet that I’ve ever had. My wife and I have spent maybe 6 months living in various places between Wilderness and Hoekville and Moontide is by far our favorite place to stay. The stewards of this land take great pride in their work and it shows. Thank you Moontide for helping us facilitate memories of a lifetime for us and all our friends. We’ll see you again soon!

Absolutely loved staying here. The rooms were beautiful and well thought-out, it was perfectly quiet and breakfast was delicious with a beautiful view over the river. Access to the canoes was a treat, and canoeing upriver to the waterfall hike was definitely a highlight. Everyone was wonderful with my adventure kitty — we'll definitely be back soon!

This place is so super cute. Right on the water with paddle boats for all. Quiet, remote with stunning views of the river and opposite mountain. Staff have been friendly and welcoming and making some great suggestions so far. If you are ever planning on being in the Wilderness, Moontide is your spot.

UNIQUE Hotel on the Garden Route. Not only the rooms are outstanding but the whole hotel is a fairy tale. Having breakfast with that views is something we will never forget. The staff were super nice with us and the owner made our stay one of the best of our trip! Thanks a lot and congrats for your hidden gem! We will be back soon!

We had the best time here during our time on the Garden Route. The rooms were full of character, the lodge had lovely views over the river and the staff were amazing. JP (manager) was amazing and helped us so much and went over and above to make sure our stay was comfortable. They have canoes which are free to use and a beautiful part of the river to swim in. The beach is just across the road too. Honestly an amazing place to stop if you want to be in a good distance from various stops on the garden route. Thank you so much!

One of our favourite stops & a highlight of our road trip along the garden route: a haven of peace hosted by an incredible team. We stayed in the adorable boat house which felt very private and so cosy! Each room is unique and they are all spread across the peaceful lodge ground. Unlike many places we stayed with that might have been more luxurious/modern, this felt like a truly authentic experience and I would choose it over a luxurious hotel any day. We took the hotel kayaks up the river to explore, spent rainy mornings reading in the common area (the couches were incredibly cosy) and cosied up by the fire in our room in the evening. I cannot wait to visit again in the future and discover another room. A true highlight is the team: so personable, so approachable, always happy to make accommodations and it really felt like being welcomed into their lodge rather than checking into another hotel. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable. I could not recommend it MORE!

The manger of the lodge is the best. Breakfast was really nice, great service and great menu( even vegan/vegetarian) It was raining a lot and there was a leakage in the kitchen. There are mosquitos and mosquito spray was provided, but we had a baby and needed to buy a mosquito net on our own since we didn’t want to use chemical stuff.

Most gracious host and attentive management! The room decorated with care and all requirements for a comfortable stay. The garden an absolute delight, beautiful setting on the Touws river. Great selection and tasty breakfast!

What a place! And what a welcome! What is Judge a wonderful person. He made our stay at this beautiful place even more special. Judge was so driven to provide us the best service and experience. Thank you again and hope to meet again at the Moontide lodge. Cheers

We spent 4 nights here. Love the place. It's peaceful and you feel inspired to enjoy your life, just being here. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Just the place to come and relax. It was so good we came back two days later, to spend the last two days of our holiday relaxing at the Boat House.

I cannot rave enough over this lodge. If you have kids, this is the perfect accommodation in Wilderness. Virtually in the minute of our arrival, the kids were off our back, roaming the area and paddling with a canoe on the lagoon. We were lucky to have the Stone Cottage which is absolutely lovely with its own courtyard, a kitchenette and two separate bedrooms - a perfect family accommodation. The lodge itself is a place a tranquility with just the right amount of shade from mature Milkwood trees. The staff is outstanding. Maureen, the owner, is a superhost with lovely taste (decoration, breakfast menu). So is Candy who handled our booking and day-to-day affairs. We will be back for sure!

Beautiful view and overall setting of the lodge. Some nice interior elements but everything else needs attention. The room was full of spiders, every little corner of the lodge was not clean. Water tasted like chlorine and fruits were of mediocre quality, either not ripe or over-ripe. Omelette was tasty. Not sure how this place earned such a high rating. I would say a 7.5 on booking and 4.1 or so on Google seem fair in comparison to other places I have been.

Fourth 4 -night stay at Moontide and, as usual, everyone and everything was fantastic . Large comfortable bedrooms, private patios and every facility for making for a special stay. Communal lounge and a lovely pool. Right on the lagoon (canoes provided) and within walking distance of the amazing beaches and restaurants. Until next time, thanks everyone.

Stunning location, beautiful rooms (we stayed in the delightfully stylish boathouse suite), delicious breakfast and exceptional service from the staff, especially JP & Candi. We found the owner Maureen to be most gracious and enchanting. Thank you for a memorable stay!
