It's not a 5 star hotel. It's more of a 3 star hotel. There's tonnes of problems here. -we paid more for a twin room, they didn't give us this, despite us calling them to confirm 2 times including on the day. -air conditioning broke and they spent 30 minutes pressing the on and off button to fix it. We had to tell them the error E1 message means it's a problem with the filter and they finally understood -wifi doesn't work and there's power cuts multiple times an hour which they don't understand you need to manually turn on. They just say deal with it, shower in the dark when it's pitch black outside and use a torch to try to eat your room service breakfast -they told us where to park, we said is this fine. They assured us to park on the side and not in a bay. 4am we get a call saying we need to move our car because other guests need to leave. Any 5 star hotel would fix any problems they caused. Not make it the customers problem to 'just deal with it'

Rooms are airy and clean. There is a homely feel to the room as you enter so that you immediately feel at home. The staff were so friendly and greatly accommodative to our large group. There are towels at the pool, pool loungers are clean and in great condition. The food is amazing and the views of the sea are beautiful. Lovely place indeed. We got the rest we needed.

We’ve booked a standard room and received the room in the cellar below the kitchen which was very loud and not clean (hairs & dust). After reclamation we were able to change rooms but only by getting a downgrade into a room with no electricity for the same price. Other rooms are even worse because you can hear the electricity generator. After checking out receptionist Sia made fun of us for being sensitive to noise and did not give us any compensation for the cheaper room. 3 stars because the rest of the staff is kind, the breakfast is good and the view from the balcony of the hotel is beautiful. All in all no recommendation of the hotel if you have no “sea view apartment”.

We were booked to stay here for three nights on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, we did not actually stay there. Although the location was amazing with a stunning view, our room was not acceptable. The bathroom smelt, with dirt and damp around the windows and an unappealing looking shower. In the bedroom, all the furniture was really tatty, with a bit of mould on the ceiling and water damage over the rest of the ceiling. This room was sold as a fantastic option for honeymoons, yet would have completely lowered the standard of our trip. We asked if there was another room we could be moved to, but were told there was nothing for the first night and there was another room for the other two nights, but as it was right above our original room it may not be much different. We ended up booking a completely different hotel. Pool area and restaurant looked nice, but some of the rooms need a massive revamp.

Really disappointing stay. Air con was broken which specifically was one of our criteria in peak summer. Our request for two separate twin beds which we called in advance to double confirm had been ignored and there was only one bed They wouldn't fix these issue on arrival or move us to another room, simply shrugged and said they couldn't change it Staff instructed us to park our car where blocking other cars then we were awoken early to ask to move it Would describe the accommodation block more akin to converted flats/apartments in feel. No extraction fan in bathroom for example. Very little privacy, often making eye contact with downstairs neighbours /hearing each others conversations, like you would on different floors of a house Would be acceptable if advertised as a (max) 3* accompanied with a "just deal with it" type of service, but how it can be described at 5* is simply beyond me. Every 4* we stayed in during SA was miles better.

Stunning location and very nice accomodation. Staff are friendly and breakfast very good. Supper however is a disappointment and does not live up to expectations. Stay there, but rather have supper elsewhere.

Not bad, but more like 4 star than a 5 star if you ask me. Room was OK. Food was nice, although we waited an hour for it.

Friendly staff and very helpful. The rooms are well lit, very spacious and clean. It was very convenient being so close to the beach and so faraway from the busy little town plet has become.

If what you are looking for is affordability and comfort Robberg Beach Lodge is a place for you. Tucked in a tiny corner of the world is this warm and relaxed paradise clothed by a lush of green vegetation. It overlooking the blue vastness of the Indian ocean tops it all. The food are made out of love! Best eggs I've ever had and their Omelette is out of this world. The Mamas in the kitchen are superheros!

The location was amazing for the closeness to the beach but in order to get to the town you would have to get a taxi or drive if you would like to explore Plettenburg. The staff were so nice and the breakfast was amazing.

It's a very good place except for not having facilities for disabled people and the aged. Too many stairs around to the rooms Please attend to this matter as it is not the first time I am raising even though not in writing.

This place is absolutely amazing. The location is idyllic, with the crash of the waves such a lovely noise to go to sleep to. We had a view room and it was stunning. I thought it was beautifully decorated, quality toiletries, gorgeous lamps, etc. But what stood out most was the service. Staff amazing and cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable. Best breakfast I've ever had and delicious dinner. This was a bit of an add on to our SA trip but I'm definitely staying here again if/when we return. Thank you Robberg Lodge.

We stayed here with our 2 kiddos aged 9 & 11. The hotel is in a great location - quick walk to the beach, close drive to restaurants and shops. It also has its own restaurant where we had a delicious breakfast. There are a lot of staircases, so be prepared to get a little bit of exercise. Good to know - Super comfy beds. - What happens during load shedding is determined by which room you book. Standard queen rooms have issues as the power and the internet goes on and off intermittently every 10 minutes. The system for that block could not handle the power requirements. We got relocated to a delux suite and had no further issues. - Breakfast is good but the portions are very small. - They dealt very efficiently with all issues we had.

The Robberg is a beautiful hotel. Located across the road from the beach. Our room was large and comfortable, although could have used more storage space for our luggage. Bathroom was clean and large. Our room included a nice balcony. Overall you'll have an enjoyable time at the Robberg.

We had the chance to spend one night in this beautiful guest house. Rooms were very tidy and view on the sea was magnificent. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we could only spend one night here. Special thanks to Viktor and his team for the warm welcome !!

Rooms aren't quite what we were sold but they are cleanish and had everything you could need. Just needs a revamp, hence the three stars. As you can see in the pictures, just some damp cleaner, rub down and a absolute must of changing the back of the toilet, as there was a constant smell of nastiness tbh. But like I said, it wouldn't take much and everything else was spot on.

Good breakfast, comfortable and clean rooms, very friendly stuff. Contrary to other reviews, I don’t find the generator noise a problem as long as it’s used during load shedding to keep lights on in restaurant and rooms. To be improved: unstable internet connection in the rooms, this happens even outside load shedding times (so even where there is normal electricity) and this was a unique case in all hotels we have been so far in South Africa.

Location is good Staff trying their best But overrated hotel not more than 3 star No lift’s available all stairs to keep in mind Electricity always shut down during our stay

Beautiful location. Only bad thing I can tell is the road to the place. It has holes in the road. But Robberg can't do anything about that obviously. It's a great place. Look out, you might see apes in the trees. Took some pictures.
