Great place to be. The food and beers are top notch. I tried in the steak pie and the sirloin steak, and they were great. The beers too were delicious. The service and decor are great too. Good place to watch a live game and enjoy a beer.

We frequent the place, but the quality of the food is below average. Service is not great either but the interior is quite nice and prices are good for central Oxford. It needs small improvements and can be an amazing pub!

Pub: normal town centre. Staff: perfectly nice. Food: poor. Steak and ale pie CLEARLY is just offcuts from other ‘steak’, all gristle fat and cartilage. Coulda spoken up to staff, but it’s clear they ‘just work here’, and they’ll always have new walk-in clients. FYI, the fish and chips comes with the ‘curry/matter’ in that white gravy boat.

We had a late lunch. My husband had fish and chips and it was great. I had a selection of three mix and share plates. The crispy battered cod was really good. Battered Halloumni was a bit too greasy for me. I least enjoyed houmous and flatbread as it was a bit bland. My husband was so happy with his fish that he didn’t want to share my meal and 3 plates is too much for one woman with an average appetite. We welcomed the opportunity to order at the table using QR code. The place has lovely pictures on the walls and a nice pub ambiance on the whole. Toilets clean and tidy. Really worth visiting if you’re looking for a pub atmosphere.

Been here a few times. Handy for theatre. Lots of seating. Food is acceptable - but you get what you pay for. Bar service can be slow. Don’t drink the Guinness- this staff member clearly not trained.

It’s cute, it has AC, & staff is friendly enough, but waiting 55 minutes for appetizers (especially when it’s not busy & without advance warning) is insane. The food wasn’t bad, but definitely not worth getting again.

We had to wait over an hour for our food to come, as there was apparently not much staff in the kitchen. We weren’t told, like we should’ve been but we over heard another table. My food arrived before my friends, so I had to wait 5 minutes for the waiter to bring my friends food out so that I could actually get cutlery. My roast chicken was pink in some areas so I didn’t eat it. My stuffing was cold, the veg was either near to raw or looked like it had been sat for days as it was all discoloured and mushy. The Yorkshire pudding was so stale and didn’t even have a taste! Looks can be deceiving, especially when food isn’t cooked to the correct standard. We ordered starters which came out with our mains, but chose not to make a fuss as we had less than an hour until we were due to be in the theatre. The only good thing to come of the meal was my starter. Unfortunately I do not think I’ll be returning as we were both very disappointed by this experience.

We liked the look of The Wig & Pen as it was close to the Theatre. I downloaded the Greene King app to enable us to order and pay from our table. Apart from my own bank blocking my card transactions, it worked very well. It was more convenient especially as the bar filled up quickly due to St Patrick's day. There were 5 of us in my party and we all ordered various meals e.g. sausage and mash x2 bacon burger and chips and 1 pie and chips/mash along with 5 soft drinks for £65*which I thought was very reasonable. Add an extra £6* for 2 desserts. * roughly remembered pricing from the app, but close. The toilets are upstairs for both male and female, disabled toilets are located right of the stairs leading up to the balcony seating area and toilets. The young man that brought us our meals and drinks and desserts was very polite and courteous. If you are coming downstairs after using the toilets, members of the public carry up trays of food or drinks just barge up through the stairs. I tried to give men and women room on the stairs and I hoped that they would be the same to me but unfortunately not. I put it down to the day. I would not let that put me off from returning to the pub.

Quite nice, good food, good service. Prices are not cheap but not too expensive either. The portions are decent

"Fantastic " got there a bit later than intended. As soon as we said we were going to the theatre They couldn't do enough for us. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, generous and piping hot. And staff very attentive. Would recommend. Will be going back again. Had a wonderful evening.

Great experience! You place your order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. Despite the fast-food feel with the order-taking style, the restaurant was very nice. The inside was clean and spacious and very populated indicating it was a popular establishment. I ordered their fish n chips with peas, and it was delicious! Spectacular portion sizes.

My dad came to visit on Saturday and we always come here as the food is great . We arrived around 12.30 plenty of tables despite the rain . We both had the fish and chips which was delicious and perfectly cooked . Our waiter I think his name was Alex ( headband and blue shirt) was amazing!! The best service I’ve ever had nothing was too much for him he was running around like a blue arsed fly clearly tables bringing orders out and much more! Please give this man a raise he is a real credit to the company couldn't thank him enough !!

First things first, it seemed that, at the time, they were understaffed and the food took about an hour and 15 minutes to come, so we were in a hurry when eating, but at least it was really good. The nuggets from the kids menu seemed to be some sort of frozen/store-bought variant, but the fish and chips were fresh and delicious. The sweet potato fries were better than the regular fries in my opinion. The dessert was also really good (the pudding), it did have raisins though, which in my opinion don't work really well with chocolate, but we couldn't really taste them while eating, so it wasn't ruined. I would come again if the waitig times weren't as long, I guess that's why they open up at 11 am, but that's just a guess of mine.

The best pub fish & chips I've ever eaten! Washed down with a pot of tea. Perfect spot to eat with a nice atmosphere

Nice decor and friendly service. Right in centre of Oxford so great for shopping and tourism. Reasonable prices. Good beer selection .

This was such a lovely place! Very well lit and fun. Coming in, I grabbed a table and went to order form the bar. The place is spacious enough that I didn't feel crowded in and still had a nice cozy atmosphere. A great selection of gins and mixers for decent prices. The pie was good, and the gin was delicious.

I love the tomato soup, pie and fish & chip. Portion is very big though and we couldn’t finish all the food. The ordering and payment system via Greene King mobile app was a bit of a hassle though.

This bar is located in central Oxford and has plenty of seating, especially if you want to watch a match. They have Old Mout Cherry cider on tap which is great! It’s so convenient to order and pay from your table via their app.

Lovely place with friendly and attentive staff. Not to busy for a Sunday lunch either. Roast beef was delicious with a nice supply of veg and roasties. Daughter had the chicken and mush pie which was great and the chips amazing! Wife had mac and cheese with bacon which looked great and a generous salad. Also had the choc pudding and cream tea cheesecake - both brilliant.
