Really fresh fish and chips! The service was good. Stunning venue on the beach ⛱️! Make sure you arrive early for a good table outside.

How to start? The restaurant is nice with a great location. But in our experience yesterday that was it. We were a group of 8 including kids and got our table outside. After 15 min no one could tell me who is our waiter nor could we get hold of some menus. After asking 3 different persons someone finally manage to take our order. And what then? 30 minutes later (!) we got our drinks. After 90 min and only after asking, the waitress came to tell us there are still a few orders before ours can even start to get prepared. After all this time the kids were super hungry and so were we. No apologies were offered nor some bread or similar to make the wait a bit more bearable. The only explanation we got was the restaurant was busy. Sorry but we have been to many restaurants around the garden route, all fully booked but with a way better service and faster and more respectful treat to patrons . So after spending more than 90 min in this messy and bad organized restaurant we left with no food and a terrible experience.

We were there for the food, seafood. Pizza's but there was a white sauce on top which was way too much. Serve it on the side, better. Service was excellent.

We are new residents in Mosselbay and our grandchildren from Gauteng are visiting us. Made a booking for breakfast. Was requested whether to sit inside or outside. Requested to sit outside. On arrival I was given a table inside. No table was booked for us outside. When I questioned it, I was told outside was booked for a function. As people left the tables outside, other people just walked in and sat down. Not one supervisor asked them to sit inside because they have a function. The entrance hall was very untidy. No interaction from the waiter during service. Food was fair. Therefore no tip was given and will not support Jackal on the beach in the future

Great location, but the food is pretty average. Pizza is not great, prawns were fresh but not super tasty. Hake was not very tasty but calamari was good and well prepared. The malva pudding was not good.

What a lovely place. I've been there 3 times in 7days and every time the service was on top. We had drinks on the deck with an amazing view over the ocean,my child were playing on the beach while enjoying our drinks and watch over him at the same time. There food is good and very delicious,only onion rings to oily.Thank you to the staff you are very friendly,and you treated us well.

Friendly, helpful service, delicious olive and mozzarella focaccia (very pizza like, which was great for me) and cheese burger and chips, and gorgeous outdoors seating in the sun with beautiful views. Definitely returning!

If I could give 0 stars I would. We waited 20 min for a waiter to take our drink order, after no one arrived we got up and left. The restaurant only had 2 other tables. All the waiters were having a chat inside. Absolutely pathetic service for a Dec holiday.

Service very very slow. Has to wait 45 min for drinks only then have to wait another 30 min for food which was orderd with the drinks.

Went for lunch today and had the worst experience with their food & drinks. I had to change my daughter's drink twice due to "floaters " then we ordered 2 piles of prawns and couldn't even eat half as they were :pate" inside. Very disappointed. Asked to talk to the manager, but I had to leave because he took so long to arrive. He was so condescending to my guests who stayed to finish their drinks. Never again..

Wanted to come here for lunch, accompanied by my guide dog. Was informed that we couldn't sit inside, despite the fact that it is a service dog. Explained this to the staff, but they persisted and stated that no pets are allowed. It's important to state that the dog's working dog harness was on and clearly visible, notwithstanding the explanations we tried to give them. So we walked away disappointed. It's beyond shocking that we still have to deal with such ignorance and blatant discrimination where guide dogs are concerned. Most places on the garden route are very friendly and accommodating in this regard, so this restaurant stands out in an extremely negative way. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Best located restaurant in Mossel Bay - ON the beach with the best sea view! Pensioners special was good value for money - R75 for a schnitzel with salad and chips. Cappuccino R32. Service was good.

Unfortunately for such a great location this place is just bad. Avoid. I took guests and arrived at 3pm with 2 other tables occupied at the time. Starting with a generally grubby interior and tables dirty interior and windows (hand and forehead prints). Terrible service from disinterested staff then we waited an hour for a pizza and 3 fish and chips. The pizza was appreciated by the 13 year old but while the battered fish was crispy, it was barely warm and oily and the chips were cold and unpleasant. A great location that doesn't even match up to a biker bar. Pity.

Woeful. If you want to transport yourself back to the worst of the 1970’s this is the place. Coffee awful. Chips were ok and the chicken was sooooooooo disgusting that even on the 2nd try by the cook I wouldn’t even feed it to a dog unless it had an exceptional constitution and you don’t mind cleaning up diarrhoea. Not sure about the beer here but judging by the state of the toilets and general appearance I really wouldn’t trust them with anything I would put in my body. Somebody please close this down for the good of everyone’s health

This place has an amazing location and beautiful decor. The food is good and the prices reasonable. Worth a visit! Close to the Caravan Park!

Nice restaurant at a beautiful location along the beach. Food takes quite long to arrive but once it does its definitely worth it. Good portion sizes. Patrons could be more attentive to their tables, otherwise nice place, hope to visit again.

Really enjoyed Jackal on the beach. Had a good breakfast and the atmosphere was lovely. The breakfast was a little oily for my liking and my eggs overdone (that's why I won't give 5 stars) but was still good and would recommend the restaurant to others for sure. Looking forward to my next visit in future.

Booked 3 weeks in advance for 18h00 on New Year's Eve and were told restaurant would close at 21h00. Called several times to advise that we would be running about 30 min late....calls not answered. Arrived at 18h35 and the first thing that we were told was that they were closing in 45 minutes. No one in the restaurant and staff sleeping on the benches inside. Staff that were awake were not exactly friendly. Service like this should be ŕewarded with a Closed for Business sign. Only reason I am giving one star is for the location of the restaurant.

Arrived at 10.00 as they opened for breakfast on the 2nd Jan. Ordered coffee & breakfast straight away. We waited for 40min before our coffee arrived, which was the worst coffee I've ever had. After 1hr we still hadn't received our breakfast. I complained to the Duty manager &he wasn't bothered to chase it up or come back to me. Will never go back or recommend this place.

Great Location.. Great View.. But the Food was very disappointing, the Hake was not fresh, full of fish bones and the batter as well as the batter of the Onion Rings was very oily.. The Steak Burger was tasteless and the meat was not tender .. The Tables was not clean, full of old food pieces.. Overall, a big disappointment.

Scenic setting, but the seafood at here was a letdown. Fresh fish and prawns were overdone, making dishes too oily and salty. Not recommended for a seafood-centric meal. Difficult to find a parking spot.

The sea was a deep blue, flat dam and the sound of the waves were the background music to a tasty, well prepared fish and chicken meals. The Jakkalsvlei Pink Moscato accompanied the food extremely well. Service with a smile by the waiters!

Hostile experience. We booked for 10 people, as we arrived - they were not prepared for us at all and suggested we sit on 2 seperate tables etc. I mentioned that this was not okay and the waitress or manager replied extremely hostile "Do you have a problem". Due to the fact that we were such a large group I kept my cool. But this place, will not see me or my guests again.

Telephones are down, so it was impossible to make a booking or get info. When we got there, they informed us that they close much earlier than the time on the website. The staff honestly seemed like they wanted to close early and were annoyed by our arrival at 17h30. We got drinks and left.

Spent a great evening enjoying dinner on the beach. Staff was great. Unfortunately the restaurant showing signs that it needs some TLC. (And they need to start serving proper ice cream! Cheap store bought ice cream was a let down)

Extremely flavoursome Florentina pizza (no ripe avo available unfortunately). Waiter was kind enough to forewarn me and I had mushroom instead. Chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce also fantastic.

We were on the beach and wanted to enjoy a craft beer before heading back to our campsite. After trying to order and catching the attention of our waiter, twice, we received no service and decided to rather leave.. The atmosphere seemed inviting and we really wanted to spend some time here. But the service was horrible.

Definitely not for us. 4,2 stars I can't believe it😳😳 Very poor service. Pizzas😵.. No comment. Was just impatient to leave. Guys if you come from joburg or overseas, don't go there or don't ask for pizzas.

The last time I was here, evetything was fantastic and the food was delicious. The staff are still friendly but the quality of the food has gone downhill. My salad was off and made me sick. Would not recommend during the holiday season as all quality goes down.

Restaurant on the beach. Although they were packed, the service was good. You are also welcomed directly off the beach for a lovely lunch and glass of wine. The menu is also very well planned and offers a bit of a twist to your normal menu.

Had a awesome open bacon, mozzarella cheese and mushroom omelet. It was yummy. Love the venue. Its great to sit on the balcony and watch the sea, you often can see the dolphins breaking through the water. The menu has a good variety to choose from.. Great wedding venue and party function.

Great location!! Spent a lovely Sunday on the verandah with direct access to beach. Only down side was the limited white wine on offer and a small seafood menu.
