The views are spectacular and the entire place has a rich & interesting history. The cabins are neat and clean. The scones at 16:00 are to die for- so fresh and tasty. We had the set menu on new years eve, it was a hearty meal and dessert at a good price that was so delicious. Most importantly, the staff are so accommodating, friendly and helpful, they were much appreciated! The absense of a fridge in the cabins really make it difficult though, I feel that a small fridge is a necessity. It is frustrating to not be able to keep drinks/water and especially medication cool. They can keep your items in their fridge in the main building, but it is quite a walk from the cabins if you need something urgently. A spoon, knife, fork and wine glasses would be very nice and handy to have. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend it for nature lovers.

A beautifully preserved old wordly hotel in the mountains, with unique atmosphere. For many years now the friendly and professional staff maintain and keep up the service levels we became used to. A perfect reason for us to return and visit them time and again!

Beautifully maintained (even after Covid lockdown) facilities and gardens, super-friendly staff and good value for money. Stay over for "old world" charm, have a pre-dinner drink in front of the fireplace and enjoy a relaxed meal at the a la carte restaurant. Short of time? Then stop for tea and scones in the garden under the treas. Some rooms are in cosy free standing Swiss cottages. A back-up generator ensure uninterrupted power supply.

If you looking for a family experience then I highly recommend Eight Bells. Suitable for the entire family. My clients were so comfortable and the kids enjoyed all the activities offered to them. Staff and management were extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks to all that made my clients stay a pleasant one.

What a surprise to discover this 90 year old hotel! The tree at the entrance is apparently 200 years old. We enjoyed a lovely light lunch.

Old world charm with stunning mountain views and incredible hospitality - definitely worth the stay no matter if there's rain, mist or sunshine. Billy and the staff are attentive and provide exceptional service. They were so kind to make an exception and allow our retired service dog to join us on our stay. We cannot express how grateful we are and what a wonderful time we had, it was truly memorable

Attending a function. Celebration of life. The small chapel was used and they served the most delicious variety of salty and sweet pastries and snacks. The staff were friendly and facilities all super clean. Thank you

Lovely moderate hiking trail. Can get lost in the mountain and beautiful scenery. Stopped over at the restaurant for lunch afterwards. Simple, delicious home made food and the scones are to die for! All the staff are warm, friendly, professional. We really enjoyed our day outing here!

Just one of those special places. Food is excellent. Scones fantastic. Fish and calamari much nicer than any other place in area. Whatever you eat will be either good or exceptional. Landscape however is what makes the trip out there more than worthwile. Make sure you ask the waiters to take their time. You do not want to hurry through your drinks or your meal. Kids have lots to keep them busy.

Beautiful trails. Not the friendliest reception. Treating any guests well might secure future customers.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I enjoyed my time and food at 34 Degrees South. If you sit outside, you get treated to awesome views too of what can be described like Venice. Towards the latter part of the day, you'll see a gorgeous South African sunset (if there are no clouds). I had some wine by the glass, one of the few places...
