food was really delicious!! we ordered a full breakfast (contains meat) and veggie wonderland (vegetarian). we could choose between sourdough and whole meal for the toast, and the ways we wanted the eggs to be done. the portion is huge for 3 people to share. i especially enjoyed the veggie wonderland; each item on the plate was well-seasoned and complemented one another. the staff were cheerful and friendly too. music can be a tad loud, here but some people may enjoy it for the atmosphere!

Lovely side walk cafe nested in Joo Chiat. Love the atmosphere, busy morning but still have available seats. Short queue forming at the door. Ordered their signature breakfast, and it was huge! We enjoyed every single ingredient on the plate. They made killer coffee too! Love my latte.

We came here for coffee and dessert. Service was generally good, though the initial seating experience could have been a little better and more welcoming. The coffee was nice and the desserts were tasty. What gives me pause is that the overall value proposition was poor. Two standard coffees, a small slice of cake, and some tiny churros cost as much as our lunch.

A lovely place to bring your dog and sit with a G&T. A good menu offering and drinks. The place converts into another restaurant after 5pm. Well constructed restaurant, windy even on a blistering day and great artwork on the walls. The service crew here are polite and interactive. It does not feel like a serve and get outta here feel.

Popular place for breakfast with artisan coffee and elaborately crafted breakfast. Located at a gloriously restored Nonya building along Joo Chiat Road. Spacious and airy interior, with a table that crosses from indoor to outdoor area. Tried their fruity Nicaraguan coffee. Very unique, but ultimately not my type of kopi. Can be pricey depending on the items ordered.

Would definitely visit again. Their food and coffee never disappoint no matter which outlet you visit. The food portion are pretty decent and good for sharing as well. They don't impose a dining time limit which is really nice as it gives you sufficient time to enjoy the food and chill. One thing to note is that they don't take reservations, so do be there early especially during peak hours.

This is one of my favorite coffee places in Joo Chiat during lazy afternoons. The coffees here taste good and the cakes are decent. I recommend the French fries to go with your cuppa tea 🍵 or coffee ☕️. Go for seats inside and nearer the aircon if you don’t like the warm humid Singapore moisture laden air.

Good food! Good vibes! I love the service here! Ordered the Mediterranean Common Man Breakfast and it was so good! The fruit juices are small but very yummy. The doughnut was super delicious too! We enjoyed the outdoor seating. Not too crowded on a Friday!

Frequent a few times because it is one of the few places in Joo Chiat which is dog friendly. Some of the service staff is helpful and friendly. The menu is quite limited and is design around breakfast than proper lunch. Food wise is alright. The restaurant name should give you a good indication of their forte. Pricing is of typical cafe rate. The Joo Chiat branch has good vibes and a queue is to be expected.

Hot chocolate was definitely not chocolate syrup and milk only. Got a nice texture and slight bitterness to it. Churros had a lovely deep fried crust and gooey middle. So if you prefer a more cooked or cakey kind, you may not like this. Cafe can be really packed on weekends, so there are chances you might need to wait. 🚙 lots of parking nearby. There is a huge public parking just a few minutes away.

Learnt that they are running two brands now, Common Man in the day and something else in the evening. Either ways, I've tried both and I really enjoyed myself a lot. Yet to try any mains there, but the dessert and bites I've had were certainly great. Special shoutout to the gentleman who served me, he is the experienced staff there responsible of ushering customers to their tables. Super friendly and nice to talk to, speaks really well too. Gentleman offered me some snacks to try on the house, as they launched some new food items. Will be sure to come back (with friends and time) next time to enjoy properly! :)

Drove past and was attracted to the decor. So went to check it out to have breakfast. Greeted and served by a very friendly and joyful staff (didn’t get her name though). Food and coffee were delicious and prompt. Love the vibe and they played good music too. Will recommend.

We came to Common Man on a Saturday morning and as usual, it was fully occupied - a testament to their food and service! Had the Big Breakfast with poached eggs, hash brown, bacon and sausage with wholemeal bread. It was a filling plate for two! One small wish was if it could have been served hot, we would have loved it more but overall, a good wholesome breakfast! Tried the kale and cucumber drink as well as the Yellow Submarine, both were refreshing and made our morning!

Came here in the morning. It looks very busy on time, but it doesn’t feel oppressive. The environment is comfortable. I always want to come and try every time I watch the stories shared by friend on Instagram story, it’s worth it to come. Their staffs are very friendly and polite, the point is that the coffee is Great and the Breakfast just what i like 👍

Had the homemade granola, common man breakfast and warm salad. How absolutely delightful and wholesome they tasted! The cafe was buzzing on a Monday afternoon and although the interior has some of its windows open, there was sufficient aircon and fans that made our stay comfortable. Came without high expectations and left satisfied

I've been to different CMCR outlets but this was the first time at the Joo Chiat cafe. It's a large corner place with high ceilings and looks very welcoming. Great place to hang out and chat. I was with a friend and we both went with milk based espresso drinks. They only have one bean (which I have forgotten) for espresso but that's fine. My friends had a late and I had a cappuccino. The coffee was excellent with good balance of acidity and sweetness. Couldn't help drinking half the cup before I could continue chatting. Will definitely come back to explore other options.

Amazing food with amazing services. Very attentive and prompt in response. Nicely located along old heritage Joo Chiat. Worth another visit. Despite the hot weather, its still pleasant to sit outdoor, 5hey have installed a few ceiling fans to keep it cool. Nice job.

Been here a few times now and I generally love the food. Had the ham croqué monsieur and it was delicious. Also recommend the pancakes (not pictured). Very pretty interior but prices are way too steep for cafe food (average $25-30 for one dish).

  • 5/5 Drew 1 year ago on Google
Service here was good, staff were attentive and our drinks came out quickly, even on a busy public holiday morning. We had the iced black and iced chocolate, the coffee was strong, and the chocolate was good. Not diluted / weak. Place seems to be pet friendly, as other patrons with small dogs were seated after us. Good spot to watch cars go by, or people watch. Toilet signage was a little confusing, but essentially both were unisex.

Friends brought me here on sunday morning. Ordered Turkish Common Man Breakfast & Common Man Full Breakfast with Oat Latte. Very cozy ambience with 🪴🌳🌵 outside. Lovely friends with scrumptious foods & coffee made it a great start to the day. 😀 I like the deep fried onsen egg! The crispy slivers of phyllo is amazing thin, buttery and sweet. The staff explained its like making baklava. 👍🥰

Common Man Coffee Roasters was an excellent cafe on Joo Chiat Road for a weekend breakfast. The top choice was the excellent coffee. Really well done coffee and the breakfast menu was broad while having the classic big breakfast standards in there. Chose the Hash brown as an extra and it was an amazing little slice of potato heaven. Definately recommend - the crowds also agree that this is a great spot!

Place is almost full on Sunday morning around 9ish. Flat white didn’t disappoint me and had customized scrambled eggs with sourdough bread (not a big eater - menu breakfast set portion is too much for me), good ambience with friendly staff!

This was my first ever visit. Pretty neat place. I ordered the pancakes with bacon and egg which was pretty good. The only downside was that the maple syrup was way insufficient, and I had to ask for an extra portion which was chargeable unbeknown to me, as the waitress did not mention it. The coffee was pretty good, while the hot chocolate was too sweet and not hot enough. Quite a cool place to have some food and coffee.

Super good mocha and hot chocolate, paired it along with the banana cake. Very good combination. Unfortunately not enough time to try their main menus. Will definitely come back. Very friendly and helpful crews..

A lively cafe along Joo Chiat Road. We ordered the Chili chicken and Common Man very green! Food is served within 10mins after order. Would recommend to give it a try if you’re here in Joo Chiat. Price wise, is a bit higher but is all worth it.

tried their dinner menu flatbread was fluffy and crispy, paired well with hummus. cheese balls were fully stuffed but the salsa sauce lacked flavour and was rather bland. pizzas were a hit and miss, the red base with chorizo sausages were slightly too salty, while the white base umami pizza was fusion done right, the chilli crisp toppings wasn't too spicy and came as a pleasant surprise. overall a pleasant experience

Wonderful coffee shop in Joo Chiat, that is almost always bustling with customers. Came here for brunch on a weekday when we were in the area. We got a seat at the window with one seat on the outside and one on the inside, an unique seating combination. Staff is super-friendly and quick with their service. We ordered the following - 1) Umami Mushroom Avocado Toast - comes with pickled mushrooms and fresh avocado with an umami twist. 2) Conti sandwich - Served with a load of fries. This sandwich comes with chorizo and ham with a helping of cream and basil. Pretty filling meal. 3) Hot Chocolate - Soothing hot chocolate for a rainy afternoon.

Having breakfast at Common man Cafe in Singapore was a delightful experience. The cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and scrumptious food made it a great start to the day. Their freshly brewed coffee and a variety of breakfast options were a highlight. I'd definitely return for another visit! ☕🍳🥐 #CommonCafeSingapore

Heard from friends about this place and happened to be in the area. Food:we ordered the common man breakfast for 2 but we wanted vegetarian option so we told the waiter to swap out the mean for something else or just more vegetables. Which is not hard to and don’t cost as much at the mean products. I would have given it 5 stars but being in flexible…I mean, can’t we be inclusive for dietary restrictions? Coffee was really good I must say. Service:The waiter was really friendly and made sure everything was clean and tables were set. Atmosphere:Spacious and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.

Had a scrumptious breakfast with my girlfriend here. Manage to avoid the sudden wave of crowd that came in after 10. The granola mix was a little on the sweet side due to the choices of ingredients but gets you pumped for the day no doubt. The big breakfast was delicious, would prefer the bacon a little bit crispier. My latte was smooth to the lips. Price on the high side a little but with their service, location and menu it's expected 👌

Decent food though not sure if I would come back for it, pretty standard cafe tasting food. Came for dinner so may be more suitable for breakfast/lunch. I found the flatbread to be a bit oily and messy to eat. The vibe is chill and it’s a nice place to chat. Servers were helpful and also gave wine recommendations. Overall would say it’s an okay place to come if you’re in the area.

  • 5/5 Teck B. 6 months ago on Google
Pet friendly if you sit outside! You can’t make reservations but the queue moves pretty quickly. Food is generally good, and the only thing I can think of was that the fries were a little dry. Otherwise everything was very good and the coffee was also better than most cafes you’ll find in the area. Parking is also easy with a huge carpark just round the corner.

Had a very simple Sunday dinner with friends and the experience was really nice. Enjoy the atmosphere a lot and the food was delicious. Couldn’t find any fault, and the beer recommendation was good too! Usually I go to Common Man for brunch or breakfast, so their night shift was a pretty new experience for me. Overall really good and I will recommend others to visit for a nice and chill weekend or weekday gathering! Side note, you get the chance to bump into some pretty cute dogs if you are lucky!

Food is more Instagramable than real deal. It’s a breakfast cafe, good coffee but the food is average. Over priced too. The turkey breakfast was average but the crab salad was a turn- off with the fishy small from bland tasted crab, no wonder they served it with lime. The dressing was awful for the salad. Won’t order this salad again.

  • 4/5 Addy K. 2 years ago on Google
We came here on a Sunday and it was bustlin' ! Dog friendly, so you can bring your pups with you as long as you're seated outdoors. They have amazing selection of breakfast items and cakes - food is pretty decent. Not the cheapest, but usual cafe prices.

  • 4/5 The Gal D. 2 years ago on Google
Bustling even on a weekday. The cafe has an industrial look, different from the others in the hood. There’s limited indoor space due to the layout with a cute corner by the window. Food is excellent and I like the fact that they offer a good selection of healthy choices. Coffee is geared towards the bitter side, so instead of a regular cappuccino, I had a flat white instead.

Located at a quieter part of this stretch with many cafes, restaurants and bakeries, the ambience is good. Friendly and attentive staff was a huge plus! Hot Mocha was really good! Not just some sweet Mocha elsewhere. Food was not bad - I liked the Crab Salad that came with real flaked crab meat (hidden below the rockets). But, it is indeed on the pricier end among cafes (especially the full breakfast). Would be good if have more dishes with meats (not having to $$ add-on) at friendlier prices.

Lovely place .. the coffee is great .. love the ambience of the place . Waiter too our orders but forgot to put it into the system so we were waiting till they found out and coffee was free as part of their apologies.. The smash burger with Great .. tasty .. love the crab salad.. Good variety taste on it with a touch of lime .. Be prepared to spend $50 per person with drinks plus taxes ..

Same outlet experience as the one at Martin Road. Food and drinks are still awesome. Perhaps less crowded on a weekday, we managed to secure a seat moment we arrived. The staff were friendly and prompt, however the drinks got alittle delayed. Above all, it's still a good place for a weekday brunch. Will definitely return again soon!

Nice cafe at the corner of the road. They offer good coffee and decent breakfast in a well-designed place. Very good vibe to enjoy your coffee time. The staff are lovely and helpful (and by that I mean good looking boys and girls). They have some wonderful open window seats which I never managed to grab unfortunately. Long queue at any hour during weekends (looks like some Joo Chiat expat community gathering - and that's definitely a pleasant sight + vibe). An outstanding cafe in general and should be on top of your Joo Chiat cafes checklist.

Love the food, vibes and service. Definitely on high price, but I feels worth it. Love their combination on each menu, not same as other cafe. Their vibes for chilling brunch is superb. Definitely I want to go back again. Anyway, be prepared for queuing but not takes so long. Afternoon is more crowded than morning time

  • 4/5 Noon N. 2 years ago on Google
Foods and coffee were really nice. The decor and service was good too. But I find the price is too expensive. Also, the queue for this place is always long, so I feel uneasy to spend a long time there. Too much pressure.

Had the full breakfast. Food was good, service was excellent. We sat at the bar and the employees chatted with customers at the bar. We are not coffee drinkers but the aroma added life to the ambience. They allow pets outside so you can enjoy your meal with the family member here.

  • 5/5 Alex L. 10 months ago on Google
The ambience here is great! The cafe bar concept worked really well with the Spanish/Mexican and industrial design. Keeping it vibrant yet minimalistic. The drinks were alright, nothing wow-ed me but hopefully I would get to visit again and try the hot food.

No joke - the best eggs benedict I have had ever. Their combination with braised ox tail was super good!! Love the vibes here too. Always wondered why they are perpetually crowded, now i know why.

A great addition to the East. Great ambience, good vibes. Food’s great but it can be pricey for brunch. Love the kale with scrambled eggs dish. A healthy dish but done so well with other vegetables and bread crumbs. The common man breakfast is good but just like your typical full breakfast. Definitely a great place to chill and unwind. Only downside is they only accept walk-ins. So either head over early or avoid big groups.

I can understand why this cafe is always crowded. Food & drinks are delicious. Staff are friendly, polite & efficient. Place has great vibes. Pet friendly

Read their wonderful reviews and thought we check this place out. One thing for sure, they are not kidding. This cafe didn't disappoint. Food is fabulously good and the crew is friendly and attentive. The place is packed and understandably so. Strongly recommend this place.

Nice cafe in attractively renovated shop house, situation @ corner of Joo chiat rd & lane. Price on high side but is complimented by good service, quality food & cozy/ chill environment. A good hang out plc with friend. U shall feel u r threw back 30y. Seem popular, nd to q even on weekday.

Nice cafe along Joo Chiat Road. Food was delicious & service was especially good. Love the window seatings which was a unique experience. We informed service staff that the coffee was acidic & was told that they actually have a more nutty flavour called “22 Martin”. Do ask for this coffee bean if you do not like acidic taste. Prices are slightly steep though & there’s service charge & GST.

Very accomodating staff and food is really good. Avocado mushroom is well seasoned. Added a poached egg that goes well with the bread n avocado. Smashed beef burger n spiced fries is good. Herbal tea is really good n comforting after a meal in the afternoon. Too bad no stomach for dessert.

I like both the Veggie Wonderland and Big Breakfast. The ingredients are high quality, well cooked and generous. The Beetroot bbq sauce on the side is a bomb. I also like that they have fresh juice options which I had two glasses of dragon fruit, Beetroot and pomegranate juices. It is also a pet friendly restaurant which there are so many adorable dogs.

  • 5/5 Brian G. 1 year ago on Google
Very nice little neighborhood coffeehouse. Lots of families in the morning. The breakfast was good and the coffee was wonderful. It is pet friendly so there were quite a few dogs sitting nicely with their pet parents. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning in this relaxed atmosphere.

Attentive service and good atmosphere for catch ups. The food is quite so-so esp for the price, but it is otherwise quite a nice chill cafe environment. Had the full breakfast and iced latte. The breakfast portion was big and instagrammable, although what you see is pretty much what you can expect in taste. Iced latte could have been creamier.
