If you are a tourist and u wanna eat good just come here without checking other places. Very friendly staff really good size for the price… Absolutely delicious 👏🏽

Pure waiste of money, i orderd a steak, medium well, it came about 40 minutes later and was really not how i wanted, ask for it to be cooked medium well, then i got my steak, it was kinda rare, really lookd unapetising, nobody Even told me that the plate was HOT, the plate was in the oven actually. The waitress asked me if i like it and then she took it back to “put it one more time in the oven” thought the steaks were made on grill. Second time it looked the same but Even more unappetizing. Just ate what I could and left hungry and with burned fingers. Never again.

Poor service, overpriced and touristy. We were craving mussels and made the decision to come here simply because it was the only restaurant with plenty of seats available at peak lunch hour. We were then told they’d ran out of mussels (which was not their fault). By then our drinks order had already arrived so we decided to stay and proceeded to order something else to eat. After waiting for close to an hour, the server came up to us and confessed nonchalantly that he had forgotten to put the food order through their POS system, originally blaming it on technical difficulties. He had to ask us for our orders again, and said the dishes would be ready in 5 minutes which didn’t seem likely. Feeling let down by the service, we decided to leave as we were starving and behind schedule. We asked for a discount on the drinks but were rejected. Won’t recommend.

What a place... AKN after three years lining in Belgium decided to try mussels+frites. What to say, amazing food and nice service. BEST MUSSELS AND FRITES IN GENT

Overall the food was ok but overpriced for it being quite small plates. We had few issues as well…We ordered “scampi diabolesque” and we got served the spaguetti version of it. When we asked at the end of the dinner if it was only the pasta version or the one without pasta the waiter told us that there were 2 options, told him that we ordered the non pasta one and not even apologised. We didn’t complaint when he brought it because we were not sure if it was only that option and it was kind of fine, but at least an apology…as well we had an issue with a beer (ordered blonde and got pilsner) when brought we asked if that was the blonde and the waiter said yes but we knew that wasn’t as we had the blonde before and the bottle was different. As well when we booked the table asked for when the kitchen was closing to get a time where it was fine for them and for us to not rush but at the end it was food sold out and we ended alone in the restaurant at 10pm (the booking was at 9pm) with the door opened (it was 8 degrees outside) meanwhile they were taking the rubbish out… for the future I would recommend to take in consideration this things to reserve any table as we were fine with any other time before this as well and I told so to the person taking the booking.

While the food, the service and the ambiance are really good, it’s also not a cheap restaurant. But, you’ll enjoy Belgium food in downtown Ghent. I come back every now and then. Pro Tip: during the Gentse Feesten, ask for a table on the first floor at the window. You have a personal VIP view on the event.
