We enjoyed a great tour of Girona with Alvar, who was knowledgeable, helpful, and interesting. Through a detailed look at geography, history and culture, Alvar illustrated some of the highlights of Girones development from the Iberians through to the 20C. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back for more.

A++ My 28 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed GIRONA EXPERIENCE TOURS. We booked three tours-each one being unique, worthwhile, and truly places one would not know to visit. We traveled to Medieval villages, climbed a volcano, saw national forests, visited a monastery, saw where Dali lived, while learning detailed information about each location. Eduardo, the tour guide, was well prepared to answer questions about every aspect of each tour. He was patient while we took time to walk beaches, window shop, take photos and do activities one would do with your family. Julia was knowledgeable as well, translating the tour into Spanish. Such a sweetheart. Alex, the driver/tour operator, was pleasant and handled many winding roads with ease. Absolutely a must book tour company. The cost was unbelievably inexpensive for 8-10 hrs. We will use this company again. You will be impressed.

Wonderful experience touring Besalu, Castellfollit de la Roca, Volcanoes hike, Banyoles Lake with our guide Gerard who was extremely kind and spoke English fluently. His passion and knowledge of the region really shows. Loved his energy and enthusiasm. We spent an amazing day visiting the Girona region. Highly recommend!!!

This was such a great tour! Our tourguide (Pete) was so knowledgable about everything and had what seemed to be an endless amount of information and fun facts and anecdotes. We saw some of the most breathtaking places including beautiful costal villages as well as fascinating and well-preserved medieval villages. I can’t recommend this enough!

Absolutely wonderful! Ona was a fantastic tour guide. We learned SO much about the history of Girona, the current culture, and, of course, the Game of Thrones filming locations. Ona is incredibly knowledgeable and her English is near perfect. We just had such a great time. Do yourself a favor and try to get on Ona’s tour the minute you arrive in town!

We had an excellent experience. Comfortable, air conditioned and clean van. Safe, helpful and reliable driver Alex. Well organized, excellent tour experience with Pete who is so knowledgable and personable. Balanced mix of riding and walking time. We never felt too hot or exhausted. Gorgeous sites, fascinating history. We are very satisfied and would go on any of their tours. We were provides with cold water along the way, and Alex kept the van cool and watched our bags. The lunch location was very nice too.

The guide let a lady who was coughing and sniffling on our van for a full day tour. She admitted she was sick and possibly contagious. Unbelievable! We got out of the van and refused to go on the tour. It was very difficult to get our money refunded because they said “it was probably only a cold”. They clearly do not follow reasonable health and safety standards. I hope the lady didn’t give her illness to the guide and driver and I hope they didn’t pass it on to other clients.

I went on the Cadaques/Dali tour in September. The vehicle was very comfortable as there was some quite winding roads in this trip. Our guide Marc was very knowledgeable and friendly and made the Dali museum tour particularly interesting, I think that I would have missed so much if I had done it myself.

Marc was a wonderful guide to Girona and Besalú. Very professional and informative - never boring! Very caring also as we had some difficulty in negotiating stairs. He really brought alive what Jewish life must have been like in Girona. The Mikva in Besalú was an additional bonus. Would all guides be like Marc! Wow, what a great experience! Our guide Marc was very knowledgeable., not only did he give us facts but he brought the heritage and characters of the area to life. Carme was personable and helped us pick out wine and local cuisine. They also kept our comfort in mind because of the heat. We strongly recommend Girona Experience tours.

Mark was a great guide. He worked with us and was flexible when our train from Barcelona was late. He provided many historical and geology facts and took us around places we wiuld not have found by ourselves at all! Our boys really liked the use the iPad to show pictures that helped us relate more by setting the scenes . The game of thrones info and seeing bravos and kings landing areas was fun too. The tour was the perfect mix of history, current Girona and Game of Thrones information.

We did the besula, banyoles lake and volcano tour. I have been fortunate enough to have travelled all over the world and been on many tours. But this was one of the best well organised tours that I have had the pleasure of going on. Eduardo our tour guide was so informative and was able to answer any questions we had. The places we visted were beautiful! We had an aircon vehicle driven by Alex. He dropped us off as close as possible to the attractions and then was always waiting on the other side for us. I would highly recommend this tour, especially with eduardo and Alex! If we come back to girona, we will definitely do more tours with them!
