We had lunch at this place and were pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is very cozy, and although the outside terrace, which is usually picturesque, wasn't available at that time, we were comfortably seated inside. Opting for the daily menu turned out to be an excellent choice. The dishes were exceptional: the pumpkin soup was velvety and delicious, and the grilled meat was simply amazing. For dessert, I ordered cheese with honey, and to my delight, it tasted exactly like the Russian "творог с медом." Overall, it was a great experience!

Awful experience compared to previous expectations. We went to the restaurant based on a recommendation. Although they haven’t recorded our booking we were lucky enough to get a free spot (13:45h). The place is not nice or bad, it doesn’t have any atmosphere. Staff is not nice or bad, they are not service oriented based on my own experience. We got a 25€ menu which included first and second plate, drink and dessert. Nothing special on the food, just average. Not well presented, not super tasty. House wine limited to one single region, not my taste either (Costers del Segre). Since they were sooo slow we didn’t have desserts. We waited for 25min for the desserts and they never came, so we decided to stand and leave after paying the check and telling them about our experience (no answer or complicity at all). Extra note: there are only 2 toilets for the entire restaurant, and at that time they were already super dirty and smelly. All in all, not a place I would recommend to anyone.

The location is beautiful and very romantic. The food was ok, typical and simple dishes. The service was nothing special, pretty rough. I would have give 3 stars but for the atmosphere I’ll give one more.

The location of this place is incredible, which makes you wonder about the history behind those wall and stairs. Great food with a French/Catalan twist and very good service.

The ambience here is unbeatable, especially if you eat outside on the steps. The food is fine. The cheese plate is worth doing, as it has several only-in-Catalan cheeses. The pizzas are single portions, though not Italian style. They are essentially meat and cheese slathered on Catalan bread. The jamon and fig pizza was a hit, the tuna and pasta less so.

Had a lovely meal here at with a view of the plaza (which was in Game of Thrones Ep. 6). The food is superb at very reasonable prices, and the staff is helpful and patient.

I had a lunch at the Bistrot with my family. The 2 stars are due to the "final feeling" after the lunch. The food was not bad, also if not "nice to see". The menu is only in Catalan (no English, Spanish or others) and to the final bill was not clear. We paid 18 Euro for each dish.....1 salad (18 Euro???) 1 dish of macaroni with tomato sauce (18 Euro???), and other 3 dishes, all considered as "main". The final bill was explained as "5 dishes 90 Euro" (no receipt was provided at the end, just a number). So.....really not good feeling and not in line for what we paid compared with other restaurants we visited Spain.

Very special location. Good coffee and desserts. I stayed in Girona in one night and one of the recommended locations and Cafes was Cafe le Bistrot, the service is excellent and the interiors are very special.

The place could easily be 5star if they fix their management. This is so unfortunate, they have the perfect location, delicious food, great atmosphere but the management side really messes it up. If you’re looking to visit, be extremely patient with the time it takes to get a table or be extremely close to the staff And keep asking them. Honestly the food was so great, menu was also explained and everything came on a good time. Please guys fix your organizing it’s such a shame!

It’s a traditional restaurant set in a prime location. You go for atmosphere and location. The food is down to earth average for a reasonable price. Book a table at the window if inside or outside in warmer seasons. The waitress was lovely but the place was understaffed so she had too much on her hands. We waited long times to be served. Good to go for their lunch set menu.

Visited in March and May 2023. Another visit, again, was really worth it. Good local food and wine, service was again great. Certainly recommended. Will certainly make another visit on my next trip to Girona.

The location is amazing, and the servers are all very nice and accommodating. If you sit on the terras, it is like sitting in the middle of the old city. The menu isn't available in English but the staff is more than happy to help you choose from the menu if Google translate isn't your thing. The food is very traditional. I wouldn't recommend the potato gratin as it is only potatoes, meat and cheese but the pizza with pasta is very good. Do know that it is not a traditional Italian pizza as the dough is more like bread.

Great atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and the prices very good. But we ended up eating cheesecake which was moldy at the bottom....? They took our desserts off the bill which was nice, but still...

Visited twice on Sunday, once for a coffee and once for my mums birthday meal after leaving somewhere else nearby due to poor service. Brilliant experience, most lovely waitresses and the food was so delicious! You must try the pizza & pasta! So unique.

Not your average restaurant. Amazingly capable and friendly staff who can advise. Personal service. Original local food with amazing flavours not found in other restaurants. Highly recommend and encourage sitting inside where its quieter with a nice view. Deserts are wonderful.

Loved it. Like going back in time. Ideal for a 2 hour plus lazy lunch or a quick bite, glass of wine and back to work.

The place, in an interesting location, is very charming. It feels like going back on time. The atmosphere is lovely, just like an old cafe/restaurant where people socialise and eat. The service is very friendly and professional. It you get stuck with the menu, that it's in Catalan, they are happy to help. The food is wonderful and has good portions. I absolutely recommend it!!!

My wife and I had a very satisfying meal here. We came at 7:30 p.m. on a Friday in early June, and the service was great. Although there is no English menu, our waiter patiently walked us through the entire thing and provided recommendations. We had a cheese/charcuterie board, a pizza with fig and ham, and the duck. It was simple, unpretentious food that hit the spot and seemed totally reasonable for the price point. This place isn’t getting a Michelin star anytime soon, but it works.

Wow what a great restaurant. I just enjoyed a wonderful meal at Le Bistrot. Lots of locals coming in and just a great vibe. The food was just great I had escalivada to start and a wonderful cod in tomato sauce for the main. For dessert it was Mel I mato which was this great sweet ricotta like cheese (mato) and honey. So everything was great but I really wanted to applaud the staff they were so kind and even translated the menu for me. A big thank you and I hope to come back.

Maybe no menu in English but the food was excellent. The views were incredible and the waitor was really thoughtful and went the extra mile to help all his guests. Honestly one of the best restaurants I have ever been to

Wonderful location in the heart of Girona's old town, and that atmosphere seeps into the vintage decor of the restaurant. The wine was great. Unfortunately, the food felt a little uninspiring.

Had an amazing meal here. The staff were very friendly and patiently explained all the dishes on the menu to us in English. I had a kind of lasagne on bread with a fish filling, a local specialty, and it was delicious. The local wine was also excellent. I would definitely come back here next time I'm in Girona

We arrived late, without a reservation, in a party of 6 people. The restaurant was already busy, but they found us a table very quickly. Really good menu del dia for E 19.95, all six of us left happy. Great service excellent wine list at unbelievably good prices. You have to visit!

A classic in old town Girona, their daily menu remains as a good option for lunch. Nothing very sophisticated yet the product is of quality. For example we really enjoyed the fresh tuna, tasty and generous portions. Their offer may need an upgrade to include more options for veggies and vegans. Location and ambience is great!

The brandada de bacalla is one of the best things I've ever eaten. I'd highly recommend it. The staff were excellent, the menu was completely in Spanish and the waiter went through every dish with us. The prices are really good, if you're in Girona you won't be disappointed if you stop by here

Great food, generous prices, and beautiful location, but the real standout is the staff. There are two waitresses and they are incredibly fast, efficient, and friendly. It was really unbelievable how quickly and effortlessly they managed to serve everyone, all whilst providing careful and charming service. True professionals.

Just had Patatas Bravas & drinks there & they were very good. Loved the location & the ambience of the place.

Perhaps the most beautiful places you can eat in Girona. Apart from the character filled bar restaurant itself there are tables on the steps outside where you're surrounded by medieval stone walls and an imposing overhead stone arch. The service was excellent from all three of the multilingual waiting staff, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We reserved our table just in case and had our most memorable meal during our stay in Girona. Thank you everyone from Cafe le Bistrot.

Food was great, location is amazing. Great value for money in a city full of fantastic food joints. Only minor thing, would have been great to have an English menu, however our waitress spoke perfect English and was patient enough to put up with my terrible Spanish. So there were no problems! Also, wine is super cheap and really good. Don’t miss this one!

An old restaurant in the downtown of Gerona-Spain. They no English nor Spanish menus. The relationship between price and quality is 6/10. Food was not bad but the price was excessive. There was not all of the dishes nor of the desserts of the menu. There was no soap at the bathroom.

Loved the staff here. It was a chilly day and we really wanted to sit outside on the terrace to enjoy the views for lunch even though there was no one out there. We were those annoying American tourists... but they helped us feel welcome. Lunch menu was in Catalan, google translate was sort of helpful. ;) Salad, wine, onion tart, lamb and mousse for dessert. All delicious! Highly recommend this place.

Creps, salads, pizzas and an excellent wine list. Smart-casual. Beautiful setting- sit outside on the steps or inside (decorated old Catalan style).

So. Initially I would say - Price: Expensive. 22 euros for a primary dish + beverage + dessert and bread which was awful - dry and not fresh. Service: Inattentive. It took forever for the waitress to come to our table. Also, it took forever to get the check. Food: Simple with overall good taste. Dishes are simple - Entrecôte was served along plain cooked chickpeas and a piece of dried tomato. But! They transcended from a 2 star review to a 3 star review. Why? Because they made a discount and charged only 18 euros + as we leaved they offered us a free shot of Ratafia - a local Catalonian liquor which was really nice.

I’m not local & not able to comment any about their food. However, they serve Catalonia food & not the usual Spanish food that we might familiar with. For me it’s a comfort food & grandmother recipe. Always busy & people start Q-ing up before they open. Service is fast, reasonable price with real food.

😠 This was our second time here and the last time for sure. We tried the main dishes and they were terrible. It's the first time when you order a burger and it's coming without bread. The potatoes were very oily and cold...the burger raw...and the service was the worst, especially the girl /host from...
