Very awesome bar! Cool decoration, good music and good beer. Edit: In light of their response, perhaps we had a misunderstanding. Still leaving the original text below, and I'll add that the bar was very welcoming. Fairly certain me and my girlfriend got kicked out of the restaurant section though, so maybe not a very tourist friendly place (we were obviously dressed as tourists, and we speak no French; never expected to stumble on this place). YMMV.

If you love to eat coke, then come here, otherwise I have to suspect that there was discrimination. I came for lunch, expecting fir tender and juicy steak, yet I got a burnt beef (the 1st and 2nd picture) cooked like coke. When I inquired if it was the routine way to cook steak, the waiter answered yes. He hadn’t even asked how well I want the steak to be done. I tasted a bite then, it tasted exactly like a coke, dry and with bitterness and burnt smell. I had to spit it out. The waiter then came asking:” Don’t you like it?” Excuse me?! This is not food for human! And you asked me if I liked it?! I got another overcooked stead (in the 3rd photo) later although I had told the cook I want it “medium rare” . The starter with different kind of sausages had no problem though. But, this is a place known for it‘s steak? Are you kidding me? If it was not an accident, i will have to suspect that there were discrimination problems to non French speakers, because I didn’t see steaks on other table having this problem. If you don’t like bad evaluation, then do the right thing.

The idea to have a bar/restaurant that only plays loud, hard, extreme metal in a city centre tourist area is completely nuts! But it works and it's awesome, long live Le Black Dog! I love it! 🤘🤘🤘

First of all, they don’t play heavy metal in there. It is black metal. There is a huge difference here. So don’t get surprised. The interior is designed according to the same mentality and imo is pretty cool :). About the steak, it is WONDERFUL! The staff were kind enough to put a couple of extra side dish for us, and steak was served for us, in the exact way the we ordered it. Again, fantastic food, place, staff, andI do recommend it very much!

If you like death metal, you have to eat dinner here or grab a beer here. In fact, everyone should. I’m actually not a death metal fan but came as an open minded adventurous person. This place is the real deal and THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. If this was a common jazz bar the line for the food would be wrapped around the street, and/or reservations would be booked out for months. It’s a secret gem in Paris. Now, I have to say, it is still a secret because it is a *legit* death metal bar and restaurant. If you want to blend in wear all black and maybe spend a few months growing out a thick beard. (Pro tip: Grab a Shining t-shirt). It’s worth it!! Meat was tender not fatty. The meat was imported from Argentina. The dipping sauce was flawless with the slightest hint of spice (not too much). The potatoes were the best, most potatoey, yellow potatoes I’ve ever had. There isn’t a near second I’m considering, I just know it was the best potatoes I’ve ever eaten in my life. The dish I ordered was called “the threesome” on the English menu. I. am. stunned. Absolutely excellent.

Je ne parle pas français. We really liked this bar. We sat at the main bar and everyone working was really nice. We had some great conversations and learned a lot. We really enjoyed our drinks, got to try several others and got a few recommendations. Thanks again!

Nice little metal themed bar. Drinks were good and fair priced. Food was ok. Staff were friendly. Interior was interesting. Seating a bit uncomfortable our table was sticky but we dismissed it, it's a rough bar theme so it fit. Great wall art. Outdoor seating available. Metal music playing.

Rock bar, with some emo notes! Music is nice but it also has some interesting decoration! Of course beer is a must but it also offers more types of drinks and food! The general area of Les Marais is full of people from all backrounds and cultures, colour and sounds! It's worth a visit, even more than the area of Montmartre, as you can see the city from above in many more efficient ways regarding time and money! Before visiting Paris, make sure you have a detailed plan of traveling and sightseeing as it might be too much for a couple of days. About 6-9€ per drink which is normal for Paris! Many kind people ready to help and the stuff is most joyous too!

We ended up here because we canceled our dinner reservation last minute at another restaurant. The vibe/energy/ mood is definitely hard-core rock/heavy metal....which was 110% cool. The steak was substantive and filling. That said, the flavor and texture was pretty "meh." Service was acceptable, nobody was checking on us, but the staff was attentive enough when we signaled for them. It served its purpose. Go for the vibe - if this vibe is your thing (we enjoyed it). Steaks? Not so much. Have a burger.

Absolutely loved it there! Didn't have anything to eat but the atmosphere was great and the service was nice and kind. Bartenders spoke English to us, which made it much easier. And there was a happy hour! Loved the downstairs part of it! Definately will come back when in Paris!

The bar has a great ambience. The selection of beers is sufficient and there is GOOD beers to choose from, like their Belgium, Denmark beers on tap. The bartenders were reserved and short with us, but I assume this is because we are not Parisians or French. Walking down the windy staircase you'll see the bathrooms on your right side. Thankfully only had to make a short visit in that area because the faces I was making while in the bathroom definitely showed my disgust. At least the beer is good! Didn't try the food, but the restaurant portion looked great for a weekend night dinner!

Went in tonight for dinner with my partner and experienced the worst service I've had at any restaurant in my life. We showed up for our reservation and were told by the bartender to grab a table in the back. Walked through a nearly empty room ( 1 other table in use ) and picked a spot. After seating ourselves and being handed menus we took 5-10mins to browse and talk about what we wanted to order. The waitress came back, took our drink orders and starters, then proceeded to demand we order mains right then or leave our table and go eat at the bar. We politely declined and said we're still deciding. Then out comes the "assorted deli meat" which the meat was clearly beyond the point of being okay to serve. The bread was pasty and terrible quality. The entire experience was horrible enough that we just finished our drinks, paid and left without eating. Highly recommend avoiding this place.
