The place is cool , regarding the food I had Kebdaa with Dakaa mix it was fine , the only thing I had an issue with was it took them long time to get my order. But still I am planning to visit them for lunch next week InshAlla .

We found it by accident. It was a very nice and clean place with really good quality food and prices. It also had a place for non smokers and families with a nice view. The staff was very kind and helpful. The manager can get the sense of what you might want and bring you the right dishes. So he proposed us some of their traditional dishes which by the way were amazing. We will definitely go again if we find the time and we suggest you to do the same. Definitely a must for food in Cairo

Quite good Yemenis restaurant. It’s pretty decent local restaurant. The bread on the picture-huge one- is fantastic. You should try!! It’s perfect combination with honey. You can order honey as well. Meat is so tender and fresh vegetables. Kind staffs but it’s local restaurant so serving is not fast. (I think it’s average serving speed at local restaurants)

Babal Yemen was literally next door to the hotel we stayed at (Cairo Taj Dokki). In the 4 nights we were there, we dined at Babal Yemen twice, that proves to show how mouth-watering their food was. From their menu, we ordered a dish that included grilled chicken with kofta and turb (transliteration per menu being the Nus Mashawi Mashkal Babal Yemen) - that was served over the most aromatic rice. We also ordered their appetizers such as tahini and baba ghanoush, as well as their flat bread, which was served piping hot the 1st time we dined there. The 2nd time we ordered the same main dish along with Matbaq Khidaar, which is basically flat bread stuffed with omelette and veggies. And, how can I forget the clear broth soup they serve in the beginning - one of the best we had in a very long time. We loved dining here and really liked their quality service. Whenever we're visiting again, we will definitely dine here again without batting an eye.

If you are Yemeni then this place is probably great. If you are a tourist visiting Egypt, it will be average at best. The restaurant was busy at 2pm on a Sunday and we were offered a poorly situated table near the cleaning station at the rear of the restaurant, hidden behind a pillar. We asked for a better table and sat only for a couple of minutes before being moved to a better table in the heart of the restaurant. Most, 99% of customers, I assume are Yemeni, because I could see no Egyptians eating here. The seats are extremely well padded and comfortable. The staff are attentive although busy and a lovely lady took the time to explain the menu in English for me. Service was good, the staff are smartly dressed and the place looks clean. This restaurant is obviously a favourite amongst the local Yemini community and it has a quick turnover, canteen style eating feel about it. Tables are covered in a new, single use, thin plastic sheet prior to dining. We had a fish dish which was very pleasant indeed. Due to people raving about it on reviews here, we also ordered the beef fassah (excuse the spelling). The portion was tiny, barely covering the bottom of the tagine dish. There were around 8 small shards of sharp bone in my tiny Portion as well as a good amount of fat, ligament and vein. The bread, as you can see from the photo was enormous, fresh, warm and delicious, the fresh baba gnoush was also excellent. I had a chance to see other dishes served to those around me and quite frankly the meat dishes all looked very fatty, with a good amount bone and gristle, so probably less than half of it was actually edible and the chicken dishes looked mainly boiled as the skin had very little external colouring from cooking. These are just my observations from my visit, both good and not so good. I wouldn't put you off going but I will not be returning. I have places within walking distance that are better suited for me in downtown Cairo and this was a taxi ride away.

My first time trying Yemenis food and this place got it right. Very friendly staff and the food is delicious. We had the Haneeth and the Mandi and the mix appetizer platter and they were fire 🔥🔥🔥. It is located in a nice neighborhood and they have private booths.

This was my introduction to Yemen food. The grilled chicken is like none you’ve ever had. We also had a bone soup that was amazing. We ate and kept looking at the gentlemen across the table from us. We wanted to know what they were eating. Finally, one of the men came over and introduced himself. He was the owner. He said what we had was okay but let him give us real Yemen food. He brought over food for us to try. Man oh man we were hooked. We had Fasha, lamb. I had a group coming and told them about the restaurant and they wanted to try. We are there again and it was so good. The staff was very friendly and was able to communicate with us with our lack of Arabic. A smile, cell phone and pointing goes a very long way. I can’t wait to return. I want some Fasha so bad. I tried some back here in the states and it didn’t measure up.

It was being back home. We had fasulia (red kidney beans) with eggs scrambled eggs. Side of sahawick (spicy sauce). Fresh bread w black sesame seeds. And red tea w mint. Personally, I'm used to lots of garlic n cumin for added flavor. For togo, 2 fresh baked fish for the house.
