Excellent range of beers from different countries, extensive pizza menu with also other food items like hot dogs, and baked camembert !! The pizzas have a thin and crispy base, with really tasty toppings- you can find anything such as black pudding, haggis and duck on pizza! Highly recommend the tuna one, it's delicious

Visited here twice in the last week, one Sunday early afternoon and an evening midweek. The service is excellent with the staff visiting your table frequently. The portions are huge and great value for money, a great fine. The soup and sandwich deal or the half pizza and fries deal are definitely worth every penny.

Lots of beer selections. Only a couple of IPAs but they seem to try and gather beer from everywhere. The food I did not try and the pictures don't do it justice but I've since worse places with less. Four stars for friendly service and a great atmosphere. No reservations are needed which it stated when I went to their website. Says if no time or table us available then it's booked. This place was near empty.

First time in this gem, great selection of beers/lagers. Friendly staff. Well spaced out/roomy sitting area. Oh and if lucky enough to go during the day....out door seating too.

Nice underground pub with a German theme. Food looks interesting, want to come back for that! Very decent Belgian and German beer choice. I spotted at least 10 Belgian beers, in bottle, they're all worth it!

Never sure why they don't just half the price of the pizza (pizza was great though). The general availability of some of the beers means that the novelty has worn off a bit (reluctant to pay through the nose for beers I can easily find at the supermarket). It was quieter than normal and the food/drink was good and service quick.

Underground bier halle with a large selection of beers from Europe and worldwide. Very popular for pizzas. In summer there is usually outdoor seating with a small bar in Gordon Street.

Hadn't been for a long time and visited again for a beer and pizza ahead of peasano and Pizza Express to see if the 2 for 1 pizza was still as good. Staff are still as friendly and welcoming and atmosphere was good with a full house. Only issues were that the pizza has become expensive at £16 meaning that each pizza was £8 per person. Not hugely expensive but being honest, no-one pays £16 for a pizza anywhere in Glasgow. Also, the gents at the rear of the business was horrible. The floors were soaking wet in what one can only hope was water from a leak and the toilet was blocked and full of water.

Had a great time yesterday in the terrace area - loved the big tall heaters! Benches were a bit shabby and wobbly though. We didnt order food but everything they were dishing out looked and smelled amazing. The staff were all lovely but we found it a little on the expensive side.

Been going to Bier Halle for years and it has never disappointed. It has such a unique industrial undergroud vibe to it. The staff are friendly and attentive. They offer 2 for 1 pizzas (pizzas which are incredible) and obviously the range of beers is awesome!

On a quiet Wednesday afternoon on a solo wander around Glasgow I spotted a staircase and decided to explore. And I’m glad I did! Not many customers this time of day… but the vibe was friendly, staff were quick to serve with a smile, and the drinks menu was just what I was looking for. Tucked into a curry bratwurst with pickles, sauerkraut and chips along with a pint of Weisse… can only image the place really comes to life on weekend evenings. Don’t be shy… give it a try.

Wasn’t what I expected, great range of beers obviously, very loud so it was difficult to hold a conversation, although maybe I’m just getting too old for loud music, lol. Prices for alcohol were pretty good, however £2 for a 330ml bottle of water is ridiculous! They offer lots of other alcohol if you don’t drink beer, so don’t worry if beer isn’t your thing. Staff were friendly, it was clean and tidy too.

I came here a few years ago and fell in love with the place. After covid I finally returned today. (I live pretty far) but I was saddened by my experience, we were seated by the speaker and couldn't hear anyone talking. My partner and I had to speak via WhatsApp even though he was directly Infront of me. The pizzas were overly saucy and burned all over the edges. Quite unhappy and I don't think I'd consider coming back to be honest.

Liked this beer hall- you can buy 2 pint sized pint glasses. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere serves food as well. Central Glasgow location

This is a really cool bar to go. Downstairs it reminded me of German bars. Lovely lively atmosphere and really delicious food. As soon as you walk through the door there is a member of staff to help you get a seat. Great place and thank you to the staff 👍

Back to my favourite bar in Glasgow to enjoy some quality beers and food before another gig at the Hydro. Always great service here and the food never disappoints. We'll give them time to restock on the Budvar for next visit haha. See you's again next trip.

Never had a bad time here. Always make a point of stopping in when we're in Glasgow. Foods pretty good. The wings are fantastic. Huge selection of beers too. You won't be disappointed.

Table of 6 of us in for their 2 for1 pizza offer on a Monday. We all thought the pizzas were delicious, crispy base, lots of toppings and great value. Huge range of bottled beer but my husband would have liked to have seen a couple of local beers on tap too. Staff friendly and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be visiting again.

Great venue. Intimate seating or tables for larger groups. Table service for drinks and food. Great choice of beers and food to match. Deep fried pickles are a must!

  • 1/5 Andrew M. 6 months ago on Google
Greeted by pleasant staff member who went away to ask if dogs were allowed. Unfortunately after asking a couple of other staff she returned to inform us they do not allow dogs. So can't give a star rating as we did not stay. Concrete floor was a bit industrial so not sure why dogs not allowed especially as all German bars in Germany do allow dogs . Unfortunately the guide we used which stated this pub was dog friendly were perhaps unaware this is mainly a dining establishment .

Work night out, the pizza was really really good. Generally great atmosphere, can be a bit noisy and hard to get seats but overall I would recommend

This place is great we are always pleased with the service and have a pleasant experience overall but this time was different unfortunately. We were greeted by a young boy that we haven’t seen before there , who seemed over all unenthusiastic. The food and drinks were fine and we sat until about 9:30pm, until we were asked to “clear up” and “finish drinks” which we accepted but were a bit shocked at the short notice and felt a bit harassed as the same young man that greeted us earlier began clapping at us to get us out, despite the fact it states online that the place shuts at 12am. Also the eat out to help out is false advertising as they don’t offer 50% off overall bill, only deals they have created such as starter , pizza , fries and soft drink for £10 , which is a good enough offer, if it offered more than 2 choices of starters ( fried pickles & Mac and cheese) . If you are going to offer discounts , all food should be available at half price, fairly, like every other place.

Thinnest, crispiest, tastiest, best value pizza anywhere. It's a Glasgow MUST SEE!!! The Stornoway black pudding and free range egg is absolutely out of this bloody world!

  • 5/5 Darren T. 4 years ago on Google
    One word....Awesome..!!!

  • 4/5 Michael M. 6 years ago on Google
It’s a basement bar in like a cold war nuclear bunker style with low lighting levels but an excellent range of beers from all over the world. Permanent 2 4 1 pizzas aren’t really an offer at £15 each. Pizzas are tasty however. Ours were singed “burnt” round the edges. Recommend for secret meetings with enemy agents in the gloomy nooks and crannies.

Coming from a German family I was excited to see this place. I spoke to the waiter in German and I was told nobody speaks German there that's not a Biggie so we are sat in a manky dark room below street level and got a couple drinks whilst looking at the menu I ordered a wurst board (should have been called worst board!) Only 2 types of wurst! And a pretzel And my friend ordered a goulash or was it a foulash? I have nothing positive to say about the food it was tiny, overpriced and poor quality The only saving grace was the staff were well mannered and polite.

Great selection of beer from all over the world. Amazing food, especially the pizzas. The 2 for 1 deal is excellent and should not be missed! Can be busy during peak times and weekends. They also usually have a popup tent outside (heated during the winter) that you can also sit at and be served from.

  • 5/5 Jim M. 4 years ago on Google
Great range of beers. Food looked and smelled good also. We were just in for a quick beer before going somewhere else to eat. Certainly will be going back.

Last time I was here (a few years ago now) they served me a vegan pizza, with cheese on it. It happens, so no biggy just annoying. I also asked for a Japanese beer and was served a Belgian wheat, once again not terrible, prices are okay, pizza is okay. Just okay.

  • 4/5 Justine C. 4 years ago on Google
We love the pizzas here, although they're significantly smaller than when we started visiting. However 2-4-1 is still a good offer. The range of beers is very impressive.

  • 4/5 Ish R. 4 years ago on Google
Same as it was 20 years ago if you want to relive your late teens and twenties. Except it's difficult to get on to the stools now. Table service is still a good thing, food deals still appear to be good value. It's still dark and loud.

  • 3/5 Mike T. 4 years ago on Google
Long cavern like bar, with long large tables. Always busy, stein and a sausage is the only reason to go.Pizza is average. Very loud, I don't find the place relaxing at all.
