Hotel lobby very inviting and decorative.but that's it. Reception staff, don't even get an acknowledgement from them. Perhaps because we're English. Food was basic. Only one dessert. Rooms tatty, wiring dodgy. No tea/ coffee making facilities in the room. Security chain broken, shower holder broken and no smoke alarm.

You need to align your expectations, when going: it's a simple hotel, not a premium resort. Once you know where you are going - you can have an amazing time. Meals are rather simple but good quality and hearty, all inclusive drink options include hot and soft drinks, local wines and beer on tap. You can pour a drink yourself any time between 10:00 and 20:30, you don't have to stay at or near the restaurant and can take your drink with you. There are nice spots to sit outside and you can grab pillows and blankets from big baskets in the lobby. Rooms are spacious, furniture is a bit outdated, but everything is clean and well kept. Hiking trails start right at the hotel doors, you can pack your lunch at breakfast and take it with you for a hike. Within a short walk downhill there's a small town with lots of cozy restaurants. There's a cable car you can take from the town to the local mountain, that has many things to offer as well.

We were on an English coaching holiday, the hotel is no good if you can't speak German, all notices plus meal menus, small attempt to translate, ie Back Pork, Front Pork, but when you got to the hotplate, it was all in, yes German. The hotel its self, was spacious, bedrooms O.K. although ours reeked of Tabaco smoke. the location was awful, it is at the top of a steep hill, nothing to do at night, couldn't even go for walk, no lounge to sit in. Walked down to pretty village at the bottom of the hill, very steep, only to find all the shops were closed, they only open at weekend.

2 ladies aged 62 & 71years left to carry 2 heavy cases up 2 flights of steps in the dark, and pouring with rain. Problem with door keys not resolved, only by fellow guests, no tea making facilities. Food was the worst I have had in Germany.

We were on the 4th floor and the wifi wasn't working at all. I told the guy at the reception and he told me that they can't do anything about it. Breakfast is served in a big hall with very rude staff. I requested for cutlery and he looked at me as if I asked for his kidneys. The hotel is rundown and needs to be upgraded. Most important is that they should work on friendliness (they look very unhappy).

Stayed for 4 nights, as part of a Shearings Coach Holiday to the Goslar Christmas Markets, 2nd to 5th December 2019. The hotel was a very poor choice. Rooms are very basic, no room safe, no WiFi, uncomfortable beds and pillows. TV was very small with no English language channels available. All very outdated and worn, needs an urgent refurbishment to modern standards. Worst of all was the abysmal food. So called hot food was always at best Luke warm. Very poor choice, very tasteless and poorly presented. The inclusive bar was ok, but only the beer was acceptable. The wines were very poor. Only once was an English translation provided. Very poor value. Most definitely The Worst Hotel I have had a holiday in. I would never recommend!

I imagine it was built in the Soviet era judging by the exterior. Comfortable rooms. Food was not very good quality and uninspiring. . Some nice forest walks close by and easy to get into Goslar by bus. The bar area was nice and drinks were a reasonable price. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. Strange place. I felt like I had travelled back in time to the Cold War. Hotel is surrounded by rather depressing blocks of flats. Grey, grey and more grey. Efforts have been made to brighten up the area with some lovely wooden sculptures and Rowan trees.

The hotel is located just outside of Hahnenklee. We visited in early March but the hotel was practically full. The outside of the hotel is shockingly ugly a throwback from the GDR. The inside is only slightly less ugly. The rooms were decent but only just. We stayed in a double. The room was not super clean and there was some mold on the shower wall. There is no a la carte. If you miss "feeding time" then you're out of luck. For a place to sleep for a day or two it's OK, if you don't have high expectations. For longer stays, I wouldn't recommend.

Pretty old and dirty. Many mosquitoes at night while trying to sleep. Yipes! Food was a 2 star sometimes a 3 star on 2nd night. We were disappointed.

The bathroom smelled of cloak, we brought our dog thinking we could enjoy our food with our dog as it cant be alone. (dogs are NOT welcome in the restaurant so we had to eat in the lobby, there wasnt always space) the library was always super loud with kids throwing around the pool table ball. Weed has grown all around the hotel, they dont keep anything up. Also they have the SAME dinner eeeevery night, one type of meat only. Breakfast is very disappinting. There is the same every day, hard boiled eggs and one type of sausage and some bread. Our experience with the hotel has been very bad and we will not come back another time. Also most of the workers can only speak english, even though its a hotel. Id expect atleast some english..

Quiet, well organized kitchen staff, good variety and you could take a food pack for lunch, fruit and prepackaged meat, Breakfast and dinner were very good. ❤️
