Visited this place for dinner around 19.00, all thanks to Google as apparently it was being popped up as the highest rated Thai restaurant at Gothenburg. But, our experience didn't echo to the ratings. First of all, don't dare to go there if you don't have a booking. It took around 20-25 mins to find a seat outside. But this was just the beginning of the waiting time. Our order was taken in 5 mins, but, my God, the food came after 1 hr 20 mins. And, we were not alone in that situation. Many families, even with little kids, were basically starving and finishing their full drinks just to wait for the food. We ordered three items. The prices are very expensive, and the confusing thing was the "moon sign", full moon means most authentic whereas the lesser ones would mean more adapted to the taste. Considering the price and their moon ratings, we asked the waitress, " can you tell us more about this dish "Laab Gai"? As we are ordering two other dishes, do you think it would be too much food or do you have any better suggestions to combine different meals and get a better experience?" Guess, what she replied, "It's a Thai dish, a main course". 😒😒 A bit more info from her would be great considering a) it was indeed a salad (idk why they could not serve it earlier than the hot foods), b) we could not finish that thing because all of a sudden it was everything with different taste, c) it was damn soury. Last but not least, as we were waiting for our food, there were too many bees outside and it was getting a bit cold. So, we asked the waitress, "do you think there are empty seats inside?" (also, not to forget all GOOGLE photos would show you those colorful interior designs). Very straightforward she was, "No, this is only for the guests who pre-booked earlier". 😏🙄 So, to sum it up, it was not a good service experience at all. Perhaps, if you plan to visit the place, pre-book a table, go through the menu well in advance, and google the names to get some idea about the dish beforehand.

The staff are kind and helpful. A normal variety of Thai food is present. The red curry was tasty. However, the place is quite small and you sit near everyone, yet it is charming. Also, the decor and lighting give you a Thail

Love the aesthetic effort in this place and loved especially the nr 24 dish from the meny(you can see the pictures). I've tried the mango sticky rice drink too, but didn't think that it tasted that much of a flavour at all. A few of the reasons are written in the pictures too, have a look if you want more specific details on that. The service was average, but i did notice a lot of miscommunication between the workers. It took us an hour to actually get our food, and the company after us got the food first.. There was another company who sat beside us and wanted to move place because they were next to the open door and it was kind of freezing to us too. They asked but couldn't change place according to a worker, but when we asked another worker said that we could move place... And when you are in the toilet you can actually not see if the toilet doors are locked or not. So it's not really comfortable to sit in the toilet there. There were so many asking if there was someone in the toilet or had someone tell them that it was busy. But yes, at least the aesthetics are very good and ambitiously done!

One of the best Thai Restaurant in Gothenburg, try their fish fillet with soy sauce or with lime chili sauce and you won't regret. Their som tam set also superb delicious, don't forget to tell the waiters how spicy you want your food.

I quite enjoy the place, though it could use a bit more ventilation. Towards the end, there's limited air circulation, and many people were coughing excessively. Apart from that, everything is satisfactory. While I could opt to dine outside, I truly appreciate savoring the atmosphere indoors.

This restaurant serves authentic thai food at favourable prices. The service is great and the atmosphere even better. Book table ahead of visit as the place is often fully booked. The only negative thing to say is that the waiter tells you to pay the bill after about 1 hour and 45 minutes, even if you are still eating dessert.

I can just say that all 3 factors were perfect, the food was excellent, the staff was amazing and the atmosphere was magnificent, totally recommended!

I'll give it 4 instead of a 5, because we thought we made a reservation and we found out that it was actually a waiting list. The place was fully booked for dinner so we ended up sitting outside. So if you want to enjoy the nice decorations and fun atmosphere of the place, make sure you book ahead. We ordered different dishes and the most basic choice (pad Thai) end up being our favorite. Dishes were towards big size, so they were perfect for sharing. I'd recommend this place.

The foods taste really authentic Thai. We had Tom Yum Goong which is a Shrimp soup that test sour, sweet and spicy. The taste was something I expected how it should be. The Laab Moo which is a minced pork with lime, basil, mint, onion and cucumbers served with rice was pretty good also. The shrimp fried rice was delicious too. The restaurant has a nice ambient, full of Thai decorations. The only problem we had was the waiting time for the food after ordering was way too long. We waited one hour for the food. Recommendation from the waiter there if you want to try the food, book earlier time (like before 7) or come on weekdays. All in all, I would say I like this restaurant and definitely will come back again.

I have been here many times and have never had a bad meal. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and tasty food. Any dish can be turned vegetarian, they will swap out ingredients on request. It has a beach shack feel to it. Be sure to book a table before your visit.

A fun restaurant atmosphere with tasty Thai dishes and funky cocktails. I am a spicy food aficionado and I’m telling you to be careful with the “full moon” spice level! I met my match. The one thing I don’t like (besides high prices) is how confusing the organization of the menu is. It’s hard to know what you’re looking at.

The best Thai restaurant in Gothenburg recommended by my Thai friend. The foods are tasty and spicy, you will be able to choose the spiciness. This restaurant is quite popular, so they charge of booking a table. We booked a table on Friday 17.00, but there were still empty tables. When we finishes dinner around 19.00, there were some people waiting in a line. Early dinner, before 18.00, would be a better choice. They also have vegetarian menu.

This place looks like someone dragged the entire contents of a beach bar in Phuket into it. In a good way! The food was surprisingly authentic and delicious. We were in a party of 7 and did the whole meal family style, sharing everything. Go here, laugh at the decor, order a sweet drink, and then enjoy delicious Thai food.

This was the best dining experience I've had for years and the restais fully deserving of its high Google rating. We were in Gothenburg on a Saturday night and had underestimated how busy this place would be. They were fully booked and we had not reserved a table. However, the waiter told us if we came back at 1900 he might be able to fit us in. True to his word at 1900 he gave us a small corner table and we had a wonderful dining experience! The service was excellent despite them being so busy on a Saturday night. The waitress quickly came and took our order and was really knowledgeable about the menu and was able to give us some great advice about what to order. We loved the fun and bright decor of the restaurant. I ordered a massaman beef curry and it was incredible! The rest of the family had pad Thai and it was incredibly authentic. We are so grateful that we were able to have a meal at Thai Moon Kitchen and will absolutely return next time we visit Gothenburg...but we'll make sure to book a table in advance. Thanks again to the team for making it such a memorable night for me and my family. 🙌🏿👏🏿

What an amazing discovery! If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would! The food tastes exactly like what we had while traveling in Thailand. This is such a special place, you will not have enough of your two eyes to look at everything! Cocktails were good, staff was wonderful and food was exceptional! I highly recommand, it is worth every penny!!!

Amazing food, great atmosphere and good service!

We got recommended this place and it did not disponent. The atmosphere is unbelievable, you just have to experience it! The food was excellent, I ordered no. 15 Laab Gai, fresh vegetables and good meat. I had a medium spicy plate, but that was a bit too spicy, so recommend going for weak if you're not too comfortable with hot food! I do recommend ordering a table in advance. Fair pricing. The waiters could have checked in and made you a little more welcome, but the food and atmosphere made up for that!

This place used to be so good and I used to go here quite frequently, always taking friends visiting in town or doing some celebration here. Unfortunately things seemed to have changed for the last few months—perhaps after the management change? The service was slow, the waiter (a guy with glasses) was grumpy and hurried us to make our choice so we ended up picking something we were not sure about. The food was also disappointing. We asked for the Thai full moon “ped ped” for our food, but could barely feel our tongues tingling. Too sweet, not enough lime for some freshness and acidity. Not as savoury as it used to. Used to always give this place a 5 stars rating but need to lower it now.

Food was definitely amazing! Every fish was extremely delicious and worth the price. Service completely fine but also nothing that stood out. However, the bathroom was disgusting!! It smelled urine like an old street and the cleanliness didnt seem uo to standard. Did make me question hygiene a bit? Sad after such a good food visit.

Looks a bit like a Thai beach restaurant, but the food is very authentic and the tastes are great. If you order Thai style, prepare that it is also authentic when it come to spicyness.

The environment is very cozy and the food tastes nice, but DO NOT order the exotic drink. It tastes nice, but I swear it's BRAVO tropical juice, definitely not worth spending almost 60kr on one glass of BRAVO tropical juice that they name "exotic thai juice". Furthermore, my companion and I had booked a table, but we had to wait 6-7 min for someone to take us to the table, then it took a pretty long for the food to get served. So if you are in a hurry, you should definitely not come here.

If you visit Gothenburg and like eating Thai food this restaurant is the perfect place to go. Great food, easy to understand menue and well informed options concerning how hot all dishes are. The interior is spectacular with Djungle or Tuk Tuk or other Thai themes at each table . Even two rooms with AVATAR theme. Staff is friendly and service minded.

Delicious and fresh Thai cuisine in a cozy environment. Couple of stops on the tram from the center of the city. Friendly staff and great service. Would definitely go back when in Gothenburg.

The restaurant has great food and taste just like Thailand. The interior of the restaurant is very unique. All the decorations make the restaurant feel very dark and crowded. We went there in the winter and there was almost no place to put our winter jackets. We had to put them between our legs and on the floor. There is no space for baby chairs so they let us put a bumbo chair on the bench which made the sitting room even smaller. One of the servitress was a bit rude when she talks. 5 stars for the food but 1 star for the environment and the rest.

Authentic and fun Thai restaurant right around shops and amenities. Food is quality, drinks are refreshing, and atmosphere makes for an enjoyable experience.

Nasty overpriced food with small portions. The "egg noodles" were old pasta, the chicken hard and the food microwaved. Exact same as frozen meal from ICA. Yeah it looks nice but if you are gonna pay 195 kr for a dish it better be good. It wasn't.

The food is good. The atmosphere and ambient is very unique. The main reason for not giving 5 stars is because we were given 2 hours sitting but our food took nearly an hour to arrive which means by the time we wanted to order dessert, we could not and were kicked out which wasn't great.

Expected more from this place based on the reviews. Maybe it has changed staff. Maybe it was overwhelmed with guests. Long wait for a table (no online booking available) and very long wait for food, which is our biggest complaint. Food was ok but menu quite basic and expensive prices. Not impressed by service. Unclean glasses. Did not provide drinking water until reminded.

One Thai restaurant probably in whole of Sweden which served authentic Thai food. Loved it! Ambience was at its best! Perfect place for a date evening and if you want to add some real spice to the evening :p. Wholesome Thai experience. Highly recommended!
