Moderate trail along the sea and partially on the beach as well. The "fynbos" along the route was beautiful. The sad side was a dead whale on the beach.

Beautiful sceneries seen from the top at the parking area. Going directly down the timber stairs leads to a very rocky part, however it can be skipped by walking straight down the path from the parking area. This is a very beautiful walking trail with 2 different options (along water or more inland).

Beautiful landscape, with the rocky sea to one side and an exquisite blanket of greenery on the other. We came across some cute trinkets along the way, which made the hike even more interesting.

Easy coastal trail for all levels of fitness. Take the time to read the plaque on the canon about the history of the Sacramento wreck. Only 9 of the 72 people that attempted to walk the 1300 km survived! Fascinating. Someone please make a movie!

Incredible views, amazing beach and just an overall great way to spend some hours. So easy just to get lost in the beauty and what’s up on the beach!

Exceptional place. It’s an easy walk with combination of both gravel and sand. Lovely view of the ocean while doing your walk. Definitely recommend for family activities.

Beautiful casual hike! Easy to find the route with well travelled footpaths but not a lot of traffic. Partial hike on the beach and partially on a footpath next to the sea. We turned around after 2.8km after a magical swim in a rockpool, but the hike can be extended quite far next to Sardinia beach. Can be easily done with kids or a coolbag, depending on your season!

Beautiful hiking trail. Wonderfully nature you can feel the ocean breeze. It is a 5 star. You can go on a group or go with ur plus one or bring your dog. The trail is full of sand but that is actually cool. It is actually a good place to be. Please go and try it. The hikkng trail will give you something to talk about.

A beautiful location. I go there quite often, the trail is really nice too. There's always people there when I go on Sundays. (A bonus trail is the rethas trail, which is behind houses 24 and 44 right opposite the beach.)

Awesome place to take the kids for a fun walk and enjoy the scenery along with a dip in the ocean. Shout out to #perocks for the lovely painted rocks along the trail which the kids love.

This is an exquisite nature walk which borders the coast, easy for the kids and even Grandma, the sandy trail begins at the parking lot on Marine Drive with an easy slope down to the waters edge and before you know it, you're on the beach watching waves break ever so gently against the rocks(low tide) , some beautiful little pools for snorkeling and an abundance of marine life, next time I'll take my water housing and snap a few shots under the surface. I'd recommend this for the folk who are suffering from "beach withdrawal symptoms", it's a nature walk, and there are no po-po on patrol, which is cool, as a security measure, take a large breed dog along for the walk or go in a group, one never knows, always be vigilant. I was alone on the trail for over an hour, pure bliss.... With my hound of course, so no issues. Enjoy the stroll and if you are going to picnic, please take your refuse with, let's leave nature as we found it, stay safe and take it easy.

Stunning stunning beach ! Normally very clean when there and lots of people over the weekend walking the trails, swimming at the beach and rock pools. Recommend not going by yourself, be in a group if walking as it gets isolated in areas. Beautiful rich history here though with a lovely restaurant near by. Dog friendly bonus !!!

It is such a lovely place! On the day we visited, it was cloudy with a slight breeze. Perfect for a nice walk with the doggos. There was many people that came with their own dogs and the dog school we attend made it really worth while.

If you love walking like me, then this place is great for you and you better ensure you got the perfect walking shoes on too. Loving going down the timber stairs and the area around there is very rocky. Great scenery by the beach site.

Beautiful trail with stunnig views. The trail is about 4 km (one way) and it takes about 70 minutes (one way). From the beginning you are confronted with unreal sceneries and it keeps on getting even more fascinating. At the end you reach sardinia bay which looks like a desert with dunes. Must do when you are in PE!

I come here since b4 my kids were born. 35 years ago. My children grew up calling this place there beach. My eldest daughter ❀ has start bringing her son here since 2 years old. He is now 4 turning 5. This place has been the go to in good times as well as in bad times. When we needed to clear the air with life's challenges we came here to regroup. God restored our souls here over the years.

Easy. Fun for the whole family including dogs. Felt safe. Great walking by the sea, but takes a bit of time to get used to the wind blowing in your ears. Wear lots of sunblock.

What a stunning walk on the WILDSIDE. It was holiday time and lockdown so quite busy. Dogs are allowed and there was the occasional fisherman too. We walked all the way to SARDINIA BAY, just over 4km - completely deserted there as the parking lot there was sealed off because of the beach ban. Enjoyed a delicious lunch at the SACRAMENTO RESTAURANT in SKOENMAKERSKOP afterwards. A walk through RETHA'S path from the SKOENMAKERSKOP SOCIAL CAR PARK was absolutely delightful. A must visit!! Can't wait to go back.

  • 5/5 Jacques B. 3 years ago on Google
Nice trail, starting at Sacramento, and leads all the way to Sardinia Bay. It's probably a 2 to 3 hours walk, there and back. Take enough water and sunscreen. A backpack would probably make the most sense.

  • 5/5 Brynn B. 3 years ago on Google
Safe, beginner friendly trail - great coastal views as you go. There are however many sandy areas, so bring shoes you don't mind getting dirty! Other than that, it's a really beautiful and relatively easy hike that's awesome for the whole family - even your pup! Dogs are allowed on the trail, but ensure they are leashed.
