This place is great. It is both a tourist attraction and a local attraction. While we were here it was super hot in July so many families were visiting the Mirrior. If you want good pictures go in the morning at 10 to avoid the crowds.

Lovely installation! The moment when the water reflects the surroundings is the most beautiful one. If you visit this place, you'll find kids running through the waters, people dancing around the area and even singing. It's just a lovely place to spend your afternoon or evening. There's tons of places to sit and enjoy a glass of wine if you wish to~

It's really cool. Fills with water maybe every twenty mins, then ripples for a while before reducing to become a mirror. Really good photos, free to enter, not too crowded. Ruined slightly by the number of trams in between the mirror and buildings

Interesting mirror made of water. The concept is nice and would be extremely cool at dawn and night. The place could become a bit overcrowded at night, with some kids and people running and walking over the thin layer of water. Nice to see during a stroll of the city of Bordeaux.

Such an amazing site! You just have to wait for the perfect timing where there is no wind and the water reflection is still to capture the mirror effect. We had to visit several times just to get the perfect shot. Too bad there is some construction covering on the left side of the building but it is still okay. Amazing architecture, amazing plaza!

I don't understand the complaining folks - this place is great! I'm always mesmerized by the reflection when I pass it. Great for taking photos at sunset, especially if you're lucky to avoid crowds. On a hot day, you can cool your feet in the water. All children adore this place. The only downside: the fountain doesn't work during winter

Cool spot on the River to take in some good views and get some picturesque shots. It was not too crowded when we were there, but I could imagine it being much busier during the summer time. Seems ok to take your shoes off and wade in if you are so inclined. Nice garden walk right next door too. River on one side and trams and road on the other.

A unique place to visit. I was waiting for kids to stop running to take pictures of still reflection. Good enough to see it once.

A place to cool off during the strangulating summers. Great for kids and adults who get hot.

The Gironde Estuary, where the Garonne and Dordogne rivers meet, and on the shore is the Water Mirror in Bordeaux. Great city attraction and joy in hot weather, everyone comes in to slap inside, and even bathe around it. 👁️🖐️👂👃👅

A large fountain that gets covered with water from holes on the ground which allows you to deep your feet in and cool down on hot days. It should create like a mirror effect but because it was crowded, it didn’t seem like a mirror. It’s a really cool place!

Easily one of the best things in Bordeaux. Great for the kids to play in and brilliant for the adults to cool down in. The reflection is also amazing. Absolutely loved The Mirror and would definitely visit it again!!

Miroir d'eau is an enchanting marvel! The water mirror's reflection creates a mesmerizing and dreamlike ambiance. A must-visit attraction, perfect for relaxing strolls and capturing stunning photos. Loved it!" Personally, I think the best time to visit on sunny days and night time to see the real beauty.

Unusual and clever shallow pool area in front of stunning architecture. Shallow pool for 25 minutes, then drains and a mist fog appear. Lovely place to cool down, take photos, and watch the world go by. Very clever and worth a visit

Cool water fountain, very refreshing for your feet in hot weather. Unlikely to be able to get the picturesque photo on a popular day as people playing in the fountain causes too many ripples.

Not worth the hype by itself... but if walking on the waterfront you could stop for a pic.... Btw looks better in the photos than in real time

It is okay but not to be mentioned as the best tourist activity in Bordeaux. The city itself is much more interesting and beautiful

Wonderful reflection pool, said to be the largest in the world. Very good fun, but lacked the water mists when we visited.

Beautiful... Really great for kids and adults alike.. although in the evening there were a number of dogs in the water too.. I'm sure they loved it as it was a warm day.. but... Bathing in the same water.. Great place to get some amazing photos close to the river and beautiful backdrop of the city entrance

Obviously a beautiful place but the mirroring effect is a bit difficult to see with numerous children running around in the water

Weather nice during end of May. Relax and very nice place. Must try the red wine.

Good to see but I didn’t realize there is a big road in between the building and the water with lots of traffic on the road and lots of people having fun splashing in the water. It’s nice to cool off on a hot day and the building is beautiful. But to get a reflective picture you must have to go there very early under the perfect conditions.

Relaxed place to have a walk and sit for few minutes and enjoy the view

Just in aww😍 of this place. I love this place. One can play in the water in summers here. Its just 1 inch of water that fills and de-fills in every few minutes. As the water refills, one can always have fun in the fresh water. The best thing about this place is the reflection of the city in water. It makes it look immensely beautiful.

There is currently some construction that makes for a sad picture but it is otherwise a picturesque place to people watch, contemplate, and rest. Trams C And D stop right outside the attraction so access is not an issue except for 5 steps.

Beautiful! But so crowded! I came at 10 am when the water first started, and again before 10 pm when the water ends. It was crowded both times haha!

Worth a stop. Superb lights around in the evening. Cool place daytime in summer.

  • 5/5 Sabrina C. 4 years ago on Google
Absolutely beautiful, so picturesque, kept coming back at all times of the day to catch the monument at different lighting. The pond just in front is about five inches deep of water so be careful if you want to step in and pose for photos

Loved this place, was glorious sunshine so easy to spend a lot of time there cooling my feet and taking photos. Great to see families having fun. The mirror effect and views in general were stunning. Went again at sunset and it is just as lively through the evening.

Great place for photographs, fun with friends and just enjoying a nice day in the park.

Very cool effect. Make sure to stay long enough to have the water fill the basin, then drain. The full mirror effect does not occur until almost drained.

A big free attraction in Bordeaux! A place very interesting in front the elegant place (Place de la Bourse). Childs and adult walk on and play on the water. Beautiful place for shooting photo, in the morning and at the sunset..

Stunning view. Great for kids and Instagram influencers. Only problem was that (in the first week of July, 2021) a huge ad by Apple was covering construction on the left of the twin mirror-image buildings that you can famously see reflected in the mirror. Whoever decided that was a good idea was...mistaken. The only good thing is that hopefully the ad will come down when the construction completes.

Lovely spot for a charactistic photo of beautiful Bordeaux. Make sure to check the weather forcast and that it is not too windy if your looking to making instagrammable photos. Best time to go - early morning (less people) with a beautiful sky or around sun down, for colourful reflections (more people)
