Just breathtaking! It's amazing g how God has carved the Canyons so wide, long and deep. Things that I imagine that filled this canyon is considered beyond imagination. One of the best places I've visited and witnessed to see. I'm now a part of it just as it is a part of me.

Absolutely stunning. I came here as a child once and while I vaguely remember it, coming back as an adult was a wild experience. So much better than memory. Mather Point might be the typical spot that people go to and take pictures, but it’s that way for a reason. It’s wonderful. What was also very special was having my wife see it for the first time. The look on her was precious to me, and I’m so glad this place is preserved for new people to see all the time. So many people came, took some pictures, and left within 5 mins. I’m glad my wife and I stayed out in the cold to drink it in.

Beyond stunning - a brilliant first look at the Grand Canyon. Plan to spend 2 hours here at least before looking at a Grand Canyon hike or trail (I would recommend Ooh Aah Point). Great facilities including parking, toilets, store, coffee and food, visitor centre and information. Everything is well designed and maintained. accessible for all ages and abilities. We were very impressed.

Incredible views throughout the Rim trail up to Mather Point. Can also get a seat at the Mather amphitheater. Try to park at lots 1,2 or 3 for easy access, but you can also use the tram service to the visitor center which is a short walk to Mather point. Recommend sunrise for the best view, although sunset is pretty good too

Best to arrive early to get great parking. Sunrise and sunset are the best views. There is wildlife around so drive cautiously. I am sure a mountain lion got to an elk while I was there. The corpse just appeared overnight. By the time I left the birds were picking the bones clean. Mountain lions are rare to see, but they are around just silent. Always stay in groups and make sure no one stays off alone. If they do there is still probably minimal chance of an attack. Don't feed any wild life. Signs say mask required, but no one is wearing them. Be sure to visit the meteor crator that is on the other side of Flagstaff, AZ (open until about 5pm). There is also a scenic view if you take the route from Grand Canyon through Flagstaff on the way. Lovely when snow is on the ground. This whole area is worth visiting.

Arrived Sunday late afternoon, pretty light crowd considering. It was our first view of the Grand Canyon and it was stunning. It started to lightly rain when a rainbow appeared. One of the most lovely sunsets ever. Came back another evening to do some sketching of the canyon.

This was the best outlook for our family. We stopped at several along the rim but felt this was the one that just impressed us the most. It's obviously most folks first stop but it was breathtaking. Highly recommend stopping here and checking out the views. They're just incomparable to anything you've ever seen.

I have been waiting a long time to see this piece of Gods artwork. Such a beautiful place to visit, the pictures really don’t do it justice. It took us a while to get into the gate, as there was a line of cars making their way through the entrance. This is a must see when you are out west, it will amaze you!

It was unforgettable. We visited the canyon in September. We arrived there at 13:00. It was windy but not cold. In the evening, the sunset was around 18:00 and it was already quite cool. Good thing we brought pants and sweatshirts with us. There are places where you can have lunch, but we took sandwiches with us so as not to waste time. From 13:00 to 18:00 we managed to travel on all routes on buses, including several trails on foot. We saw many wild animals. It's good that they took binoculars with them, they could see the settlements at the bottom of the canyon. Free entry was a great bonus - because it was national parks day

Just incredible views!! Paved pathways with guiderails and boulders that give you a safe place to take it all in, which lead to spots that jut out, so you can great pictures and views. Not too crowded in Mid-March, first time there, and it was a little cold but worth it. On my Bucket List, and it was awe inspiring, you'll be glad you did.

We went there right before sunset, the sunlight reflection off the canyon was breathtaking.. we spent an hour there soaking in the views from different points. There are 2 railed in spacious viewing areas. The hike up there is easy and picturesque. This can be done the same day you drive into south rim.

Once you have paid for park admission the points are free to look at. This was a beautiful area. We were able to watch the sunset from here. However, Grand canyon does have a lot of visitors. Unfortunately there is a little bit of graffiti and some trash around.

A definite 5-star spot! Mather Point's prime location by the Grand Canyon National Park visitor center offers unrivaled convenience. The breathtaking sunset views are simply awe-inspiring but it gets quite a bit crowded! Visiting in April brought a touch of chill to the air, adding to the magical atmosphere. A must-see destination for a memorable and picturesque experience!

One of the most visited and one of the greatest view points in the grand canyon south rim. The views are exceptionally beautiful and even I find cameras are not great enough to capture all the beauty in one photo. If you park your car in the Raven parking lot, it's just a 10 to 15 minute walk from the parking lot Squirrels are very much tourist friendly and might come after you for some food and water. Take the rim route bus (Orange bus) from the Mather point as well. Restrooms are available at the grand canyon visitor center.

If you're looking to experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the Grand Canyon without the hustle and bustle of crowds, I highly recommend visiting Mather Point on a weekday. It offers a serene and unforgettable encounter with one of nature's most magnificent wonders.

We've been here before a few years ago and it was an amazing experience seeing Grand Canyon from all sides, this time we took our mom here. The views are ever so endlessly breathtaking, but I was a bit disappointed when I saw old masks hanging off the cliffs of the rocks there this time.

The beauty of the Grand Canyon never disappoints! Mather Point is a fantastic place to see the canyon. Parking lot 1 is a little closer to the canyon and a shorter hike. Parking lot 2 is a bit farther, but it's closer to the restrooms and water filling stations. Both are only a few minutes walk (not really a hike) from the canyon. Lots of tables for a picnic at the parking lots and along the way.

What can be said. That has not already been acknowledged or said. Go experience this yourself. As a first-time visitor living in Arizona. This was awe-inspiring and overwhelming to see. If you love the night. Then go at night and experience the stars, the Milky Way, shooting stars, and plenty of everything else. Well worth the drive.

Came here on my 1st visit to the Grand Canyon and so glad I did. The views are jaw dropping. Loved walking along the edge and having the best view I could ask for. Can’t wait to go back again!

It’s amazing view, incredible beautiful creation. The colors are changed during the day. You fill your self very small comparing to this mountains. The river and settlements down hills can be seen only with binoculars. Many wild deers walk around the park. You can enjoy the flights of condors and other big birds πŸ¦… The parking places are overcrowded, so it’s better to come early. In this case you will also have a whole day to visit most view points. There are three shuttles that you can use to save some time. The trail along the canyon opens for you unbelievable views. Take the jackets with cause the evening here can be chilly. Wait for incredible sunset. There are some food places, many restrooms, hotel. The staff is friendly.

Mather Point is a must-visit when you're at the Grand Canyon National Park. We stayed in the Valle area the day before and drove 40 minutes to reach the park. It is worth mentioning that the park entry fee is $35, but if you plan to visit multiple national parks, it's worth buying the annual pass for $80. Once we arrived, we parked at the Mather Point parking lot, which was convenient and easily accessible. The paved path leading to the view points was stroller-friendly, making it easy for families to take their young ones on a walk to see the breathtaking views. The view from Mather Point is simply stunning and it's a great spot to catch the sunrise. The canyon's colors are spectacular and it's a view that you'll never forget. Once we had taken in the views, we headed towards the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and stopped by Bright Angel Bikes & CafΓ© for a coffee and pastries. The coffee and pastries were so good that we couldn't resist having more. Overall, Mather Point is a must-visit attraction when you're at the Grand Canyon National Park. You'll be amazed by the stunning views and the experience is sure to be unforgettable.

Outstanding views of the canyon. The Visitor Center is nearby, so plenty of parking and restroom access nearby. Because of the location you should expect there to be quite a few people here, but there is enough space for everyone to still appreciate the canyon.

Pictures just will not do you justice. We went on a rainy day and the rainbows we saw across the canyon were breathtaking. One visit is simply not enough

Truely incredible place. Certainly lives up to its name - the size of it is still hard to understand even when you're there. Went with a tour guide (12 hour round trip) which I'd recommend, or going at your own pace with a hire car would be a fun option.

Lovely view on the south rim. Great to see the sun set with all the different colours. Unfortunately, at the time we visited there was a controlled burn which impacted the view a little with smoke haze. Not a huge deal, better to be prepared than not.

Majestic and grand! Although can be highly crowded depending on what time of the year you go but you will not be disappointed with the view. Lighting is best early in the morning or late afternoon near the sunset. Enjoy

To sum up Mather point, it's a great quick pit stop to experience a 70Β°-80Β° line of sight of the grand canyon. Located right off the road to the entrance and exit, most visitors looking to experience the first glimpse of the canyon or last for their trip, stop here. This is also point from where most tourist can walk all the way to the village and back. This is why this location might just get the most amount of visits. Like most locations in the canyon, this make a popular spot for sunsets and people to stroll a walk on the trail. I highly recommend making this as part of your stay at the canyon.
