I heard they had remodeled the place and upgraded their equipment. The place looks great but the remodel isn't quite done and turns out they're under new ownership too, so will definitely have to go back and see how it all comes together. The service was really great and the drinks and cinnamon rolls are are awesome.

Cute spot, I can vouch for the coffee and muffins! The barista was super friendly and I ended up buying a pair of earrings from a little display next to the register. A great place to read and escape the rain. My first visit was 6/27/21 so I have no context for what the place used to look like but I look forewords to the renovations hopefully making the space feel a bit more homey (I’ve seen that the new management reads these - so a personal note: I would recommend something to make the main room less echo-y, there are many budget friendly hacks that can help!) Looking forewords to many more visits!

The new remodel totally changes the feel of this place. Missing a lot of the local and home-y feel that this place used to have and make it more unique than all the others. Staff was super nice as always and the coffee was good. Prices went up. EDIT after some research the new remodel is not totally finished. Hopefully they add in some local flair that keeps it down to earth.

Good Vibes and Yummy Bites at Common Ground! Went for a last-minute brunchy breakfast at Common Ground in Grand Rapids and it was pretty cool! The place is big and artsy, with colorful windows and fun art on the walls. Could use a few more chairs though. The staff was super nice and pointed us to a coconut coffee that was just awesome. We also tried the specials: French toast and a meat-lover's dish. The French toast was a mountain of yumβ€”seriously, it was a lot (6 slices, bacon and fruit knowledge)! My husband's meat-lover dish was a bit on the small side, but hey, the flavors were all there. So, if you're up for a tasty breakfast in a chill place, Common Ground is a good go-to. Two thumbs up!

Atmosphere is six stars. Loved the Chorizo, pepper jack, and avocado smashed wrap, perfectly proportioned and tasty. Fruits yummy. I devoured the potatoes and Almond Joy oatmeal before the pic. Will be back for sure

Love this little eclectic coffee shop on Fulton--especially that they show such great support for local artists and companies! Literally the cheapest "mom & pop" coffee shop in town too, which is such a nice change from the over-priced big name shops. Cozy atmosphere where you can spend hours reading, playing board games, or just warming up by a window. A must-try for any #SmallBusiness coffee lover. See photo for an avenue to send help to those suffering in Australia currently as well! ❀️

The breakfast menu is great. I had a wrap and roll. Hot, toasty and delish! The coffee is so good you can enjoy it sans cream.

The White Mocha is very good! I have problems every time I come to Michigan finding a coffee house that has White Mocha's on the menu. The breakfast food is amazing! They also have a kids area!

Almost left waiting for someone to assist us. Finally a young blonde girl popped up from behind where customers can't see. She was eating and was on her phone in the back. If you're gonna sit in the back when you're the only one working, sit where you can see and hear people come in. Or atleast get a bell. She was so embarrassed and flustered my boyfriend was pretty sure his coffee was made wrong. Tasted absolutely bitter and she forgot the caramel flavoring. Won't be back. Bitter End blows this place out of the water.

Saw a sign that they are serving breakfast now, so stopped in to check out the food. Menu has multiple interestingly described items, will go back a few times to try them all. The seasoned potatoes were on point

UPDATED HOURS: 7AM-2PM M-F 8AM-2PM SAT & SUN One of my favorite local coffee shops. Great coffee, very friendly & helpful staff, tasty baked goods, really nice interior and their prices are fantastic. Definitely worth checking out if you need your caffeine or muffin fix. They also feature local art & music and their featured drinks menu is cool & inventive. I've seen drinks inspired by Parks & Rec, Always Sunny in Philadelphia and more.

Great coffee. Barista very kind and knowledgeable. Recently updated the interior. Definitely going to be a regular stop. Also, one of Grand Rapids oldest coffee shops.

Common Ground is my favorite coffee shop in Grand Rapids, which is convenient because it’s just down the block from my house. I hadn’t been in over a year due to wanting to be a safe as possible against COVID. When I went today I was thoroughly impressed by the safety measures they had in place, and had I known how careful they were I would have gone back sooner! The coffee is delicious, and I just love the atmosphere of the place. Many coffee shops in the area I find to be too pretentious, but I don’t feel Common Ground is that way at all! I will for sure be going back often.

Nice atmosphere, lots of seating, and delicious coffee. Parking can be a challenge, so get there earlier than the time you’re meeting others.

I had a gift card and went to use it. The coffee was very good. Love the atmosphere. They had items from independent sellers also. Adds a nice touch! Very "homey"

I enjoyed this coffee shop. The location and connected offerings with the deli and bakery is great. Also have the small child play area for the mom's who need coffee the most is so thoughtful (take notes Madcap). As for a drink rating, probably the best Cappuccino I had in grand rapids out of the 4 I tried. Their mix of Sumatran and Guatemala beans from Grand Rapids Coffee Roasting Company worked well. The bakers chocolate and molasses hit at the start and the blueberry hit towards the end. Well rounded cup. Also they had a India Monsoon Malabar which a friend enjoyed. Not a very popular region. I recommend a visit here.

I have enjoyed this place since 1998. Great low key relaxed environment. The drinks are awesome and now they do pancakes!
