It
took
me
too
long
to
write
this
review,
but
it
brothers
every
time
I
remember
it.
In
December
2022,
I
traveled
from
the
USA
to
Guatemala,
and
my
sisters
joined
me
from
MEX
to
celebrate
my
50
birthday.
I
made
the
reservation
directly
with
the
hotel
and
was
asked
the
reason
for
my
trip,
The
reservation
lady
answered
my
email
saying
that
they
had
a
nice
terrace
and
we
would
enjoy
it
on
my
special
day.
At
check-in,
we
had
to
fill
out
papers
asking
the
reason
of
the
trip
and
DOB,
The
hotel
staff
didn't
say
a
thing,
not
even
Happy
Birthday.
One
of
my
sisters
told
them:
"She
turns
50
today,
you
see
here?"
No
reaction.
I
was
recently
in
Germany,
we
were
checking
in
one
of
our
friends'
b-day,
they
got
a
small
cake
sent
to
their
room
from
the
hotel
front
desk.
Another
time
my
husband
and
I
were
traveling
around
our
anniversary
date,
and
a
sash
with
"Happy
Anniversary"
was
on
our
hotel
door
the
whole
time
of
our
stay,
of
course
those
are
hotels
that
want
to
give
a
truly
personal
experience
to
their
guests.
That
is
absolutely
not
the
case
with
AC
by
Marriot
in
Cayalá
Guatemala.
Their
staff
is
not
guest
oriented,
and
although
the
terrace
has
a
lovely
location,
there
was
nothing
going
on
there,
so
we
went
somewhere
else
for
a
celebratory
dinner.
