Beautiful church, around an hour drive from Toronto. Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Basilica is of the High Victorian Gothic Revival style, inspired by the Cologne Cathedral, established 1876 (see plaque). As you enter, there is a life size crucifix to the right, reminding the faithful to prayer. To Jesus through Mary.

This Roman Catholic Basilica is built on the highest point in Guelph and gives you a great view of the surrounding area. The architecture is stunning with intricate carvings and two imposing towers on the outside. Inside you'll find a very peaceful space with a very high ceiling and stained glass depicting many religions scenes. I'm not sure if the public is allowed up into the towers but I'm sure the views would be spectacular!

Visited on a rainy sunday. The church is breathtaking inside and out. Lots of parking spaces. Seating capacity is good. Great place for attending mass in Guelph or nearby areas. Apparently, there are supposed to be spires that were removed due to safety concerns. Overall, the church is still breathtaking.

From ages 3. 7. 12. 14 all were excited and impressed as well as the rest of us adults. Dropped by on Canada Day and was surprised to see the door open. Going in made to read the sign to enjoy looking around and taking photos but also asking us to be respectful by being quiet, removing our hats and not bringing in drinks or food. Fair. The stain glass was a treat as well aa the interior architecture which was impressive as the outside. My 14 year old daughter was in awe. Very nice church indeed. I wanted to break out into verse of Holy Holy Holy lol. It was a beautiful stop and a memorable one which cost us nothing.

Such an incredible piece of classic architectural wonder. From the incredible limestone to the Christian stained glass windows, this place is a sight to behold. Inside the church, its splendor is breath-taking. I was here setting up for a wedding with #blackpinefloral and her gigantic floral arrangements seemed so small when placed near and behind the altar. Beautiful place to be married! Congratulations Alexandra!

What has happened to the beautiful spires on the top of the towers? They have been removed and an ugly flat top has been put on the four corners of the towers. I hope this is temporary. The basilica of Our Lady is a landmark in Guelph. All images of it will have to be changed if the spires are not restored. Photos posted on Google show the before and after.

Beautiful from the outside! Got good pictures. Disappointed that it was closed when I was there Monday morning. In the afternoon however some people were arriving for a wedding.

Gave it 5 star because of how beautiful and majestic this church is from the outside. I never been inside but planning to one day. I visit this place and walk the garden and of course pictures every time I'm in Guelph. A must see in downtown Guelph

I was in Guelph for an unrelated matter and went to visit the Basilica (note I didn't buy actual tickets but only walked in and visited the public areas). It's a beautiful church, nothing to compare to french cathedrals.of course (I'm from France) but very beautiful nonetheless. I was lucky to be there a Thursday afternoon while an organist was playing. It was amazing... I would love to go back to attend an actual organ concert if I get a chance.

One of the most impressive churches I have ever been too. A must visit when visiting Guelph. Got lucky and the organ was being played. Make sure you look up and see the impressive pipes. What a gem.

A visit here will leave you speechless. Absolutely stunning and sacred. From the architecture in and out to the colour palette, and most especially the stained glass windows, it is a must in terms of visiting. There’s a reverence and a use of beauty that is rarely seen in Canada, which I think just adds to the specialness of the Basilica.

WOW, WOW, WOW. it's just so stunning. The history of this church is incredible. We celebrated our daughter's high school graduation here. What a beautiful place to celebrate and wrap up her high school career.

This beautiful church is the centrepiece of the city of Guelph. If ever you have an opportunity to take the guided tour, it is well worth the time. I have lives almost my whole life in Guelph and I still learned a great deal As a Catholic, I also appreciate the church for its masses and charitable works.

Great architecture and glass paintings inside church are awesome. A must visit if you are in Gulph. Just walkable distance in downtown and the church overlooks the downtown streets. Inside the church we can see astonishing paintings on glass and architecture.

Gorgeous church. 😍 When we went there, there was a wedding tho, so we weren't able to go inside and infront of it so we had to stay aside. Luckily, it's beside the Civic Museum and Garden of Grace

Simply beautiful building. I've only been around the grounds and attended one wedding as a distant family member but had a nice experience with the staff and grounds while I was there.

It's a beautiful church, has a nice view of downtown. It's a nice place to sit and have a coffee or visit to take pictures of. I have no information about the religious aspect, I have no idea if they hold services but the inside is just as beautiful as the outside
