    The store itself seems nice and decently stocked. I couldn't find what I came in looking for (a specific brand of cat treat, Fancy Feast Petites in a certain flavor) but there seemed to be a good selection of other brands/items in general, particularly for dogs. I didn't check out so I can't speak to the friendliness of staff, but they did say hello and wave when I walked in. However, the reasoning for giving three stars is the state of the ferrets' cages. When I saw them, I was shocked. I only saw *one* ferret, not the alleged former two let alone the supposedly current six, but the poor thing's cage was filthy. I decided to see if this was a common occurrence at this store because any pet owner knows it's not really feasible to keep a pet's area 24/7 spotlessly clean and I didn't want to unfairly judge. Doing so, I found four months ago someone else commented on this to which the store responded saying this was due to expansion of inventory of ferrets from two to six "requir[ing] an adjustment to some of our standards and practices" (which I guess means not having the resources to maintain the cages?). I understand short staffing, I understand not being able to maintain cages if there's a lot of animals in there. But there was one singular ferret (pictured sleeping in the pink hammock alone) and a chaotic mess. That can't be healthy for it, surely? Other reviewers mention scores of dead fish which, after seeing this cage, doesn't surprise me. I would hope the owners do a better job of maintaining pet wellbeing instead of shifting blame to changes in standards/practices or allowing customers to blame short staffing. The continued occurrence of this issue speaks to a management problem in my opinion and while I'd like to come back for other cat supplies because of its convenient location, until they fix those issues I don't feel right supporting this store.

    Store #0243 has had a bonded pair of ferrets for the past several months. Recently the split up the pair, selling only one of the ferrets. Moreover, the purchaser did not own any other ferrets, creating a solitary environment for both ferrets. Those animals should have been sold as a pair. Do better, people…

    Hey thanks for turning away a customer for wanting to use the self serve dog wash an hour before you close. Remember it’s a self serve so I wasn’t asking to have my dog washed for me. Made a drive out for absolutely nothing.

    My Pet supplies Plus store is across the street from Walmart. As a result, it only pays to shop at Pet Supplies Plus When a 10-20 percent-off coupon is available. Otherwise, Walmart sells same cat products for less.

    Good Evening, I just left your store a bit frustrated. I spend plenty of money with Pet Supplies. There’s a sign on all of your treat products that states buy 3 and get 1 free. For all treats for cats and dogs. No specifications saying they have to ALL be the same product, but the signs are for all treats. To minimize confusion you should state it’s free if purchased from ALL the same brand, product /items. Then you have these young people who do not have a clue how to problem solve with customers. Well, the young lady says, “I can’t just give it to you for free”. Wow! Isn’t that what you were going to do? Give the fourth free? How does this make sense? Where are the adults who would know this? I didn’t press because truly I didn’t want to be that patron. Sorry but definitely not sorry!

    Pet Supplies Plus in Gurnee is one of the most friendly businesses I patron. I began bringing my pet there for grooming several years ago and was blown away by the professionalism and kindness of the grooming team. I now bring all three dogs and feel very confident that they are each very well cared for due to this team. Also, each time I enter the store, I am greeted by very friendly store associates. Every single associate I have encountered over the years seems genuinely happy to be there. Customer service at its best, which is rare these days. I would recommend Pet Supplies Plus in Gurnee to anyone. Thank you.

    We usually go here to take our chocolate lab for a bath. Bathing area has been dirty lately. Usually spend the first 10 minutes cleaning the station before we can even bathe our dog. Wish they would keep up on that more often.

    I’m horrified! My dogs usual groomer is Melissa, she’s great! My dog comes out of this place looking clean and sharp, today when I dropped out off my dog I noticed Melissa did not take him, but another woman did. I just picked him up….she did such a horrible job, her cuts on my dogs face are so uneven, she cut off his beautiful eye brows, his body isn’t cut or shaved because her excuse was my dog wouldn’t allow her to…. When my dog has never once has had trouble being groomed. That fresh scent isn’t even on him all around this was a huge let down, I’m so very upset. The woman who did this horrible job her name is destiney. I Highly recommend not leaving your precious babies to her.

    As I was in the store tonight, some things jumped out at me that were concerning. I understand that shipment was late, however, when it did arrive it was alarming to see that there were only a few people scheduled and I’m sure that there will not be enough people to help tomorrow to get everything unloaded - items there are still so limited and it’s going to end up being the same thing of people coming in and not getting their stuff. Next I overheard a conversation between the staff and I think it is so petty of the manager to do this to another staff member. Supposedly, the scheduling manager reduced the hours of a team member because they were “talking to much”. Whether that is true or not, you do not manage your team that way!!! What happened to having a conversation first? Maybe they weren’t aware of how much the behavior was persisting? Also, so many places are short staffed, why are you going to add more to that issue? Uhhh you might not have enough staff to unload shipping tomorrow and you do this! And this economy today? How is that person supposed to earn enough to pay bills? Right now, they’re probably so confused. Lastly, I was so excited to see a chameleon in the store again! It was so disheartening to hear that there was one in the back because he was sick:( Maybe they should look at having proper tanks for chameleons that allow more ventilation and climbing space

    I am indebted to the PSP staff. Honestly, they are better than my Vet! Based on my consultation after speaking with the staff here I put my 6 year old Cockerbull on some daily Primal raw goat milk and added the NaturPet 4 in one chews along with the Missing Link Kelp Probiotic since my pup had some reflux and digestive issues. My dog has been on a mostly raw and homemade diet which may not have been as balanced as I thought. He needed additional help in the form of a probiotic and more vitamins with calcium. I'm amazed but in 24 short hours I can already see an improvement in his energy and activity level! Paige was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I'm grateful for her awesome advice. I will be back for more doggy reinforcements soon, this place has a great selection of everything a dog needs as a supplement!

    I started coming here strictly for the self service dog wash center. I've been here 4 times in the last 2 months to try and use the services and have only been able to use it once. The first time there were no towels, I have a long haired Aussie and it's nearly impossible to get him dry without towels. Since then each time I've gone there have either been no towels or the dryer's have been out of order. As far as the self service dog wash goes I can't come here without bringing my dog home smelling like a wet dog. I went to another location and was blown away by the differences of the self service center, this particular center is a bit neglected.

    Every time I come in it's like a breath of fresh air. The manager (i believe she is a manager) always has a smile on her face and is always so kind. I bring my dog in for the self wash and he shakes coming in but once he's in and knows where we are he stops shaking. It is always clean and pretty easy to find everything!

    Their return policy is not the greatest make sure you are aware of it before you make a purchase as they may not tell you it at check out. Also their assistant store team lead Loren had a very negative attitude even though I was super understanding of their policy. I definitely won’t be returning after also reading other reviews that she tends to speak to people in the same manner, even the cashier seemed uncomfortable and I really do feel for her.

    This store is great. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The grooming area really knows what they're doing. They've been hit like everyone else by covid shortages but I see new products and alternatives all the time. With that self serve dog wash and the dog friendly team my doggo gives it 5 stars too!

    I live in Round Lake and I don't mind the drive to this location! I love it here and the staff as well. Everyone is so friendly and the location is always clean. I come here often to use the doggy wash area, which I find super convenient. My dog Rocky loves it here as well!!

    I love this place. They have a great selection of products for cats which is not always the case in regular stores. Also small animal, reptile/amphibian, fish, dog, etc. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and I feel like there is always a great coupon or a sale.
