Lovely day here. We were the first ones up our ticket was around 9 so we arrived at 8.45. Please be early as everyone wants to sit at the front and rush. You also need to book for the way back but it can be tricky and you will need to plan as we didn’t know when we wanted to come back as we weren’t sure what was up there. We made our way to the top, the ride was incredible and steep where we could see the mountains across. We had a clear day so that was good. Once we reached the top we came across a beautiful clear lake. My partner and I had a quick swim and it was so lovely and refreshing. After that it was only 10 so we thought we would walk around the lake. We were mindful of the time as we had booked 12.45 and we had googled it takes around 2 hours to walk around. The path isn’t hard itself but you definitely need hiking boots. There are beautiful stop offs along the way but we couldn’t enjoy it as much due to the time restraint we had with booking our return time. We made it 15 minutes late but we were allowed on to the next one as we weren’t that late but sometimes it may be fully booked. Book your slots online as it seems to get fully booked straight away and people were being turned away and some had to wait for half an hour to an hour to get up there. There is also a bridge when you get down you can visit before or after your trip which has a lovely waterfall

What an amazing experience. Definitely should be on your list. Please plan accordingly. First, the trolley is on time, so don't be late. Second, allow at least an hour once you are on top. There is a trail that takes at least 2 hrs, so if you are going to hike there make sure you have the time. You have to buy your ticket to go down on the trolley also, so plan your departure time according to your activity time. Views are breathtaking and the lake is super clear.

It was good, going up took around 8 to 10 minutes, nothing on the top except a wonderful lake which takes from you 15 minutes maximum to enjoy the place, then go back to catch your return journey. It's also good idea to try walking on the bridge beside the ticket office, you can make it before or after riding the train depending on your time.

Awesome place, one which I had been wanting to go to for years. From the shaky bridge over the gorge at the bottom, to the ride up and then a two hour trail hike with beautiful views and some spectacular waterfalls. The train ride is as steep as it looks. Near vertical at points and you do get pulled forward in your seat. Put this place on your bucket list,

This is the funicular you want to do. Its just the right mix of amazing views and terrifyingly open. Great views. Very nice lake at the top. Think it takes 2-3 hours to walk around. That staff are fantastic too.

Great adventure!! Not so fast, but very steep!! So not so scary, but definitely worth!! You have to buy tickets in advance at least few days and you should be very precise in time when arriving, no one will wait for you if you late 🙂. There are a very nice hiking path near the rollercoaster. So you can hike down following it or go up, if you will not get a ticket 🙂

Must Do!!! Along with the hanging bridge. An experience of a lifetime. If you like roller coaster make sure to sit first row on the ride up. If you are a hiker it is also an amazing experience.

This is a must do if you are in Switzerland. It is the highest alpine coaster in the world and the views are spectacular. The best part is the lake hike at the top. When making ticket reservations, remember to give yourself at least 3 hours at the top to hike and take pictures. The color of the water is stunning. The hike is not difficult and there is only one section with an incline if you walk counter clockwise from the dam. The trail is suitable for children if they listen to instruction and are cautious. We took some bread, cheese and meat and had a lunch while hiking. Best picnic spot ever!

Meet my expectation. I only took ascending part (descending would definitely be more thrilling;)). The view become super wide after the deepest climb part, and damn/lake gelmer right off cable car is simply gorgeous. Also there’s a chain bridge at the funicular entrance— can help to kill some time when waiting ;)

Definitely will visit again, perhaps in the summer. When I went the weather was not friendly. Everything was foggy, but with a bit of patience you can see the beauty. Although it rained you can purchase a disposable poncho or just bring one of your own just in case. Also, check out the restaurant across the bridge definitely good ribs there.

Really steep roller coaster cable car. A beautiful lake at the top. Really worth taking the trip. 36 francs for adults and 18 for children under 15.

This was on my bucket list and certainly didn't disappoint ! I booked it up almost a year ago as I didn't want to miss out as we had a tight schedule. When you get up the top, the views are breathtaking and it is certainly well worth the money A definite recommended visit!

We read some reviews that this was a great place to visit in case you were an adrenaline junkie, nevertheless i would totally recommend it for almost all types of public, on exception of wheelchairs that doesn’t have an adequate access to it. I would suggest that if you are thinking on doing the excursion you check the weather, because it could be to foggy. You begin the excursion walking around 7 minutos to get to the check in, then you get to the train, you have an amazing view an begin going up until yo get to the 106 º vertical pendant, in that momento you do feel adrenaline but in a very secure way, it is a great experience for kids and adults even if you are a little afraid of heights this is a very good way to try to fight it :) ( my case in particular) Once you get to the top after maybe 10-15 minutes yo walk a couple of minutes and then you have the lake, in my opinion one of the most beautiful in all Switzerland, there is a part of the walk at the beginning maybe the first 35 minutes that is very friendly for peoplle even if they don’t have a lot of trekking experience. I would give my experience a 10/10 for the amazing views

This was one of the best experiences I ever had, what a beautiful view and especially when you are up and see the lake there. I am from the Netherlands so I don't see mountains like this, it is a wholesome experience that I will remember! The price is good for the amount of beautiful pictures and videos you will make. The train goes so steep that it feels like you are flying.

So beautiful place to stay 1 night 20chf , great scenery, reasonably priced, big plus you don't have to pay for day parking if you had a ticket to Gelmerbahn funicular which is "strongly recommended 150%" never regret, spectacular scenery 😀, Lake on that altitude mind blowing 🥰😍🤩 mountains ⛰️ speechless , waterfalls everywhere 😀... So back to campsite 🏕. You easy can emptying toilet 🚻, and filling up fresh water 💧 👌 🙌, but can't emptying your grey water tank 🙄. So much to see on that site alone....suspended rope bridge, little pigs 🚜 🐖 farm , cross the bridge 😀...

Super pretty and dope! The ride up and down is not that long maybe 5 to 7 mins and then you can explore at the top with a very pretty lake and bridge! Make sure to buy a ticket to descent later so you have time to explore! My friend and I were a bit late but the lady was so kind and let us go still! The picture is from when you get to the top!

Amazing views. I did not know about the dam at the top of the mountain. Wish I could have stayed longer. Book online if possible. Amazing.

Great experience! There is plenty of parking, which is all free. We went end of August and it wasn't too busy. We did not book our tickets online, which meant we had less choice and we had to wait 2 hours for our chosen timings. We made a last minute decision to use the Bahn up as well as for coming down, as I was not sure if my kids were up for a hike. I found the Bahn very pricey, but I must say it was worth the money, as it is heavenly up there. The ride itself is also a unique experience. Finally, make sure you have some jackets/cardigans with you as it is colder up there.
