True to its name, a hidden gem in the old town. As you as you find the alley, you can start noticing the dragonfly made of recycled bottles. As you made your way upstairs you are slowly becoming more convinced that you’re at the right place. Incredibly beautiful place sheltered from the bustling street. We came on a weekday afternoon and the place had a very peaceful and relaxing energy. Wall murals and little decorations made with recycled materials can be found everywhere. Definitely a must visit.

Exactly as it’s named! A. Hidden. Gem! Located down an alleyway and up a flight of stairs you’ll find this gorgeous cafe. Artists have been given the opportunity to shine here and it’s on display in abundance! At the first level we placed our order of Fresh Spring Rolls with Pork and the Fried Spring Rolls also with Pork then proceeded up to the next level to find artwork wherever the eye could see! The artists imaginations have no boundaries here from tyres turned into stools and scooters turned into tables - the sky is the limit. The food was also delicious and tasty but the main attraction here is the art. We would definitely recommend stopping by even if only for a beverage.

This place is sooo beautiful! The furniture and the decor are made of recycled materials. We had an ice coffee and a fruit tea, both were delicious! Lovely jazz music in the background. To find this place you need to go through a tiny alley and then you come to a little courtyard, from there you have to go to the 3rd floor to order. They also have a roof top terrace.

Chanced upon this hidden cafe near our hotel. Place is open air and nice murals on the walls! Cozy and warm feeling! So great! Had some Ice Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk and fruit spring rolls and pork spring rolls. Deep fried fruit spring rolls with fresh mango slices is really delicious! 😍 Should try them out!

The first time I came to the cafe, I was really impressed by the view of the cafe. The minus point is that the alley is a bit small so I have to drive my car in, but when I entered the cafe, I was really surprised by the decoration. A bit of antiquity, a bit of color, especially the idea of using recycled items is the highlight of the decoration, from the space to the toilet, everything is creatively different. Attentive employee. Drinks are quite good.

This coffee shop is indeed a hidden gem. The set setup is quaint, with a note of retro style, which makes the shop very stylish. I got a coconut coffee, with was fabulous. The prices are affordable, and the staff is welcoming. They have WiFi and outlets.

I came here to try the new bagel shop. The bagels are excellent here. These are the best bagels I’ve had in Asia, so far. They also have homemade lox or gravlax, which was delicious, as well. The coffee shop that is shared with the bagel place is wonderful, too. It has a cool atmosphere and the staff are friendly. *Edit: October 4, 2020 - they don’t sell bagels here anymore but the same people now make Italian food that is excellent. I ordered the ravioli and loved it. Everything was homemade and ingredients were fresh. The sauce was excellent and was not oily, which I appreciated. I’ve been to a couple of ‘nice’ Italian restaurants and ordered Ravioli here in Hanoi, but this was by far the best and much more affordable.

Is the place an instagrammer’s dream? Yes. Am I an instagrammer? No. Full of character, unique pieces of (mostly recycled) art and some great views make up for a great start. 2 coffees (a very good salt coffee and a weak black coffee with condensed milk) comprise the full picture. 5 for the look and feel and 3,5 for the coffees, average 4.

A hidden gem, indeed :) The egg coffee is so delicious. Tried the egg cocoa too, but the contrast of the coffee’s acidity with the egg topping is a much nicer combination. We had an order of spring rolls as well. Both were great - but the fresh version edged it because of the fresh rice-based wrapping and pork. Also, the decor is very chic, with many repurposed/recycled materials.

This place is awesome. Love the decor - it’s completely all upcycled, original and tasteful. Phuong and Huyen were so sweet 😇- they served us the best jasmine/mango tea I’ve ever had. And the and egg coffee was 👌

This is a beautiful little hidden cafe. The decorations are fantastic, and perfect for touristy photoshoots. The pricing is also great (fresh juice drinks from 35k), and the drinks very tasty, if a little sweet. They have so many unusual and traditional things to try. I had the butterfly pea flower and lemon juice and my friend had the young rice and pandan drink.

Unique cafe ! They use recycled stuff to all the interior inside cafe No AC so a bit dusty because the open air The banh mie is very good, crunchy outside but soft inside the topping also ok The spring roll sauce is too fishy for me anyway But egg coffee is so yummy the taste is perfect !

This kind of cafe, excitement, unique warm feelings and experiences will make me miss Hanoi (and Vietnam) so much. Thank you for making my day even more interesting. Ordered the black coffee it was not as strong as I expected. Great wifi and even though it’s open air, there are lots of fan to keep me cool.

Literally a hidden gem, this place is easy to miss! Glad we found it though as the experience was great! The atmosphere is amazing! The way they curated upcycled items created a unique experience for its patrons. I only tried the Coconut Coffee and it was pretty good. The coconut taste is quite gentle which is how I prefer it. Will come back again! Just note that the order bar is upstairs (3rd or 4th floor) so please be mindful about bringing seniors and handicapped folks.

This is a great little cafe with ethical positivity. The place is decorated and furnished using recycled materials, from tractor hoods for table, to spoons for window handles, to plastic bottles for lamp shades. The food was pretty good, and they served us a really good egg coffee.

Interesting, quirky place - loved it❤️. We only came for a coffee and juice. The place has so many things to see and is super photogenic. The food served looked interesting and tempting but we just came from breakfast 😁. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. Would return anytime

Probably my favourite cafe I’ve ever been to! It’s a magical, tucked away treasure. The staff are lovely, special shout-out to Hang who was so beautiful inside and out, down for a chat and is so kind! The egg coffee is a must try and the bahn my’s are amazing, also the avocado smoothie was delicious. A must see in Hanoi!!❤️❤️

Quite literally a hidden gem! This was our last stop on our tour and it did not disappoint. The egg coffee was fantastic! The spring rolls and rainbow noodles were to die for. Will definitely come back when I visit Hanoi again. Friendly staff! & AMAZING ambiance w/ a ton of beautiful recycled items to make fun furniture/decorations.

Really cute cafe with lots of space and a cozy atmosphere. The coffee was great, as well as the smoothies. I was not a big fan of the fried vegetarian spring rolls, but they did their job and filled me up. They tasted like fried oil. The service was fast and efficient.

This spot was super cute! Multiple floors and very colourful. Almost everything was made of recycled materials such as the tires used for seating and the fish tank. There are also multiple floors and lots of greenery. I got a condensed milk coffee and my husband got a mango smoothie. Both tasted amazing and gave us the energy we needed for a busy day ahead. Service was also very friendly and our drinks arrived quickly.

We went to Hidden Gem to take a break from the intense heat of Hanoi. I got their signature Iced Tea, which was cool and refreshing, and prepared with a lot of care and effort by Vincent. This place is truly a hidden gem, it’s located down a narrow alley and up 1-2 flights of stairs. The interior is made from recycled materials, our tabletop was mounted on an old tractor chassis. Loved the interior!!! Feels like an oasis in the Hanoi heat!! Go here for a cool refreshing drink, a variety of lunch and brunch options, or just for the quaint ambience.

Atmosphere is great, however the place is just too warm. The people are kind and accomodating. The price is kind of expensive compared to other coffee shops. The coconut coffee was a good way to beat the heat, however i was not a fan of their egg coffee because the chocolate syrup overpowered it. The spring rolls were good and the view is great

Nice little quaint restaurant hidden in a corner. Spring rolls were fresh and coconut coffee was so good, I think the coconut chips really enhanced the flavour. Be careful of mosquitoes though as it's an al fresco dining layout

We were so lucky to discover it, cause it is really a hidden gem! Amazing decoration, super fresh and delicious food, the best coconut coffee we had in Vietnam! It's totally our most favourite place for coffee and snack in Hanoi! The Vietnamese vegan rolls are a little bit different than the one we had tried before but still delicious, banh mi veg superrrr good! We also had a passion fruit smoothie that was super fresh and nice.

This is truly a hidden gem! Everything is made from recycled materials, the owners really care about their product and it is perfectly placed for a little hideout from all the noise from Hanoi. It’s so cozy and unlike anywhere I’ve been in Hanoi. I would really recommend checking this out. It is also the perfect location to hang out before catching the buss, since it’s right by the buss station.

This place is an actual hidden gem. The ambience is top notch, food no comments it's tasty and coffee oh my too good ! I can't believe a place like this even exists . But it does and you need to only check all the floors once you enter. You will only click pictures of every corner of this place 😊

4-storey café with the theme of old Hanoi. Quite spacious space decorated by recycled goods which makes it more fun. The owner was very friendly, he even helped us take pictures and showed us the nice corners for photos. Highly recommend.

Truly a hidden gem, this cafe is split into 4 levels with indoor, semi-outdoor and outdoor seating is especially charming because also all of its furniture, furnishings and light fittings are from recycled/reused materials. Truly commendable! The egg coffee and coconut coffee is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The staff and the proprietor were also very warm and nice. Very relaxed spot, no one rushes you to clear the table as soon as you finish your drink. Be sure to explore all the levels and rooms to truly appreciate the effort made to be innovate and sustainable! P.S. we had a little trouble locating the place - a real hidden gem :P even though you see the signage and terraces from the main street along the flyover, the entrance is from a narrow alley on Hang Tre beside Highway 4 Restaurant.

Excellent cafe in the old town! Filled with wonderful innovative designs made from all sorts of recycled materials. Well worth a relaxing stop for the best egg coffee around!

Great cafe! I’ve had the egg coffee with baileys - which was basically a dessert of deliciousness, and the ginger, lemongrass tea also delicious. The entire cafe is decorated of recycled goods. The owner is really nice and cares so much about the cafe and environment and it shows. Love going here and bring my friends when they come to visit

Visited this place as part of a tour in the city of Hanoi. Everything is recycled and really creative. We had the Egg coffee and some Vietnamese coffee which was really fun. A beautiful place with really nice staff. Truly s hidden gem.

Like its name, it is hidden and it is really a gem. Everything is recycled, reused, and refunctioned. The owner make this cafe from secondhand stuffs and scraps. Then all the stuffs are coloured and combined with other old stuffs. They add some Vietnamese local life pictures on the wall. And about the coffee, it's really good. Not only coffee, they also served chocolate and some other drinks. It is a good place to chill and have chit chat while in Hanoi!

Excellent services with very beautiful and creative decorations. The food and beverages are very delicious too. Love it very much. It's definitely worth visiting this cafe if you're in Hanoi.

Indeed a hidden gem. A super sweet little cafe that we almost missed, since it really is hidden. The furniture is extraordinary. Already an experience just to walk in there. The very friendly people showed us around. We had the famous vietnamese egg coffee and a smoothie here. Both were delocious.

If you love bohemian eco vibes this is the spot. Lovely calm place to eat, drink and chill, an oasis in the middle of the Hanoi chaos. Reasonable prices and good portions. The menu is limited but that means there is attention paid to each dish. The tofu and mushroom spring rolls were very tasty, but the beef noodles were next level tasty (devoured them at rapid speed). If I was staying in Hanoi longer I'd go back.

Very nice cafe! Nicely restored furniture and very stylistic place. Drinks were good and the time was very pleasant. I can recommend to visit this cafe!

Looking for a cool and chill place to read, do work or just hang out with friends? This coffee shop located in the heart of the city centre is perfect. It is hidden so it is not so crowded plus the drinks are more affordable than overrated coffee shops. In addition, the drinks are well prepared, too!

This cafe is literally a hidden gem since you’ll need to go through a tiny alley to get to find it. I love how the place is decorated with recycled materials. Got to try their egg coffee and coconut coffee. Their staff was helpful in recommending that egg coffee is best served hot, which I definitely agree with, after having tried the cold version elsewhere. It’s a nice cafe to just chill and relax since there were lots of tables available.

  • 5/5 Amy L. 1 year ago on Google
The sticky rice coffee is so unique and tasty! I went back a few days later to try the egg coffee and it was good but too creamy for my preference. Let’s talk about the decor. I absolutely love how the owner used all recyclable materials and turned it to something artistic! Obviously, the owner care about the environment and I appreciate it because Hanoi is one polluted city.

It is literally a hidden gem, loved the veg spring rolls and peach tea with lemongrass that i had here. It was both visually pleasing and made my taste bus happy. Also, kudos to the way the space is done using recycled stuff, gives a wonderful vibe to it. Even the murals on the walls made me happy. SO glad i randomly looked up for a cafe and chose this one !

  • 5/5 Grace B. 1 year ago on Google
The coconut coffee is so so good! Along with the fresh and fried rolls. My husband got the chocolate banana smoothie and said it was yum too. The decor is amazing! All made of recycled things, it’s very colourful. It’s down a long alley and up stairs, but worth it!

  • 5/5 徐瑞智 1 year ago on Google
Deserve the hidden gem name! The cafe is very cute, hidden in an alley. I recommend going to the top floor, where you can see the wall paint of the railway street. Luckily when I visited the café, the temperature was at around 22-23 degrees. I feel the temp is good and comfortable. But when it’s hot out there, I am not sure if this is going to be unbearable given that the top floor is not enclosed. I ordered a mango smoothie 55k and the spring roll plate 40k. I highly recommend the mango smoothie! It tastes very good and with a hint of coconut milk taste. As for the spring roll, I am not particularly fond of it.

And a Hidden Gem it is. Wonderful cafe furnished entirely from recycled materials through and through to raise awareness of the unnecessary waste. Sitting inside, it feels like a little escape from the busy streets of Hanoi, vibrant colours of the decor and plants create a lovely atmosphere. The food and the coffee were great, would absolutely recommend stopping by!

Also discovered this hidden gem by chance. And I’m sure glad I did :) As soon as you step through the secluded alleyway you’ll think “oh yes, this is exactly what I was looking for,” with further confirmation as you walk up two flights of stairs into a floating loft full of foliage and great food. I tried the papaya-carrot salad and the coconut coffee. Everything was awesome. I liked it so much I even got the egg coffee right after. Can’t recommend the place enough.

  • 5/5 Josh S. 11 months ago on Google
Hidden gems was delicious!! Amazing customer service and even better food and drinks. Not only that but the cafe was so quaint and cozy. I highly recommend this cafe for any meal of the day. We went for breakfast and it was one of the best breakfasts we’ve had here in Vietnam. (I recommend getting the Banh my, but everything our group ordered was amazing.)

Atmosphere is great, staff are friendly and the drinks taste good. Definitely worth visiting and get a spend an afternoon there.
