We booked 2 Tours with Vega Travel. For the first trip we spend 3 wonderful days in sapa. Bus transfer and night train were great. We highly recommend the homestay. You get to know the real life of the local people. The second Trip to halong bay wasn't any less great. Beautiful ship & a lot of tasty food. You won't regret to book these two trips with vega tours. :-)

I booked the 1 night 2 day luxury Cruise to Halong Bay, pickup and drop off from, and back to the Hotel in Hanoi was included. The tour guide Quang was a wealth of knowledge about Hanoi, Halong Bay and the Islands 1,969 to be exact! We all had a great time Kyaking, swimming, cycling, eating the glorious buffet meals aboard our vessel Unicharm. The cabins were spacious, lovely hot showers, air conditioned too, the beds and linen were comfortable. Plenty of room onboard to relax, we all had a lesson how to make Vietnamese spring rolls which were very nice, as we all got to try them. Great mix of guests from all different Countries. Lets not forget Happy hour at the bar 6-8pm nightly.Great tour would definately reccomend.

I think this is honestly going to be the peak experience of my entire Vietnam trip. I originally read about it in the Lonely Planet travel book and decided to give it a shot. I was looking for a one night cruise and I liked that the itinerary had everything I wanted to do in the 24 hours on the boat. They also don’t go to same places as the other tours. I noticed that most itineraries had the same things which meant the locations where going to be crowded but we were mostly along in our experiences making this tour more unique (and the pictures better). It’s probably one of the only tour where you get to swim in the bay too. Our tour guide, Quang, was amazing and i will never forget the experience. I would highly recommend booking a trip with them

We booked the 3-night, 2-day Ha Long bay cruise after seeing Vega Travel being recommended by Lonely planet and couldn't be happier with our choice. The cruise ship was clean and the staff there was kind and friendly, the food was very good and they prepared separate veg dishes for vegetarian people. The activities we did (kayaking, cycling, trekking) were a great way to explore the bay and Cat Ba island. And of course our guide Dem was amazing, he went above and beyond to make sure that everyone in the group had a great experience, he taught us a lot about Vietnamese culture and history during the trip, and even helped us book a minivan for our next destination. Such a wonderful experience, thank you so much.

We travelled with Vega Travel on a 3 day cruise of Ha Long Bay and had an amazing time. The boat is very comfortable and all the staff onboard are happy to help with any request. The food on the boat is delicious, with a good selection and they will more than happily cater for a vegan or vegetarian diet. Our guide Hieu made the trip for us!! He was very knowledgeable and keen to inform us about the culture and history of the area. He took us on a beautiful kayak tour around the bay, as well as a picturesque hike and bike ride around Cat Ba National Park. The price we paid was incredibly reasonable for experience we had. Couldn’t recommend enough!!

We made a combo of Sapa and Ha long bay of 2 days in Sapa and 3 in the bay. The Sapa part was really hard and exigent, you have to be on good shape, since we ended up doing 20km and 300m of ascent. The Ha long bay was the opposite, with easy activities lead by Binh, that was an excellent guide. The boat rooms were really impressive and the food and ambient really great. As overall review, a 5* but take the Sapa trek advice into account. A good experience and great service. Thanks!

The tour guides and staff are all friendly and warm. However, do note that the canoeing in Halong Bay does not go to the caves. The only issue we have was the accommodation in Sapa. As we have asked for a change in the proposed 4-star accommodation to a better hotel, we had to pay USD90 more. However, we ended up in a smaller and 3-star hotel. We only realised about it when we were on the trip.

We had a wonderful 3 day/2 night cruise in Ha Long Bay with Vega Travel. The boat is great, The rooms are very clean and bright, with an astonishing view, and the beds are very comfortable. The food served on the boat is very good, and the activities (kayaking, hiking, biking) are a great way to explore Cat Ba Island and the Bay itself. Dem, our tour guide, really brought our trip to the next level. He is very kind and enthusiastic, gave us a lot of information about the places we visited, and Vietnamese tradition and history. I would highly recommend this company to discover Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba Island.

The following review is a little dated (I originally reviewed them on TripAdvisor)) however I hope it's still helpful. We did two trips back to back with Vega Travel. The first to Ha Long Bay, the second to Sa Pa. Ha Long Bay - 3D 2N (Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba Island). Tiger was our tour guide for this trip, and he was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! He spoke English very well, and his knowledge of Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba Island was exceptional. But most of all Tiger appeared to really love what he did, and his personality and zest for life was contagious amongst our tour group. The Junk Boat was very clean and comfortable, as was our bedroom. The food on the trip fresh, tasty, and plentiful. The staff did a great job at catering to any dietary requirements. We did plenty of activities, such as; kayaking, squid fishing, swimming, bike riding, exploring the jungle and caves, visiting villages, and plenty of relaxing. The second night on Cat Ba Island was great, and allowed to see the amazing floating village, and enjoy a drink and dinner with our guide Tiger. Sa Pa - 3N 2D Louis was our guide for this tour, and like once again we were lucky to have an incredible guide! I found that Louis had a brilliant sense of humour, and his knowledge and passion of the local area and its ethic population was second to none. The sleeper train to and from Sa Pa was very comfortable and clean. The trekking through the valley provided breathtaking views and allowed us to be immersed in the local villages. The highlight of the trip was definitely the Homestay with the local family. Both of our guides with Vega Travel did a great job at getting us away from the swarm of tourists, and taking us places that were a little more secluded and genuine. I would recommend Vega Travel to everyone.

We had a guide named Duc and he was amazing explaining us all the traditions and stories of Halong bay. We did the 3 day trip with one night in Cat Ba. They took us to less touristy places and always made sure we got the best views. It was so peaceful and without a doubt can recommend anyone to take this tour with Vega travels.

We did the 2 day 1 night Ha Long Bay tour. Picked up from our hotel in Hanoi by Peter, our tour guide. He was great, funny, friendly and really informative. The boat was homely, the rooms were nice .The food Oh. My. God. The food was great... So much and all amazing. The tour took us away from the main traffic of tourist boats and we arrived at attractions early and missed the crowds which was awesome. The boat crew were all lovely our barman, Steve was attentive and friendly We also did a private tour to Nimh Binh. We were picked up from Ha Long Bay by Luis and driven to Nimh Binh. We stayed at Anna Tham (I think) home stay. They were great there and again the did was amazing. The family were absolutely lovely. The room was comfortable and clean. Luis was again a brilliant tour guide. Really informative, friendly and passionate about passing on history of Vietnam. And just a really nice guy. The tour was great and we got to see a lot in the 2 days we were there. I highly recommend both or either tour with these guys. The whole thing felt quite personally catered for, when the Ha Long trip in a group of 16.

We did 2 days 1 night Ha Long Bay Cat Ba cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tiger was our guide and had as much history and knowledge of the area as we could learn. We had the terrace suite which was very cool and comfortable. The meals were all excellent, we never went hungry. Fun to get a spring roll making lesson. Drinks were also more than reasonable cost (happy hour a plus!). Kayaking, amazing. Biking on Cat Ba, amazing. Rice wine tasting was a treat too. My only complaint (nothing to do with Vega!) Is how much trash we saw in the bay... I hope that some of the tourism money can support some cleanup and sustainability efforts. Overall the crew was wonderful (you'd be lucky to have Tiger as your guide!!) and the experience was great.

We had a 3d 2night trip to Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha bay, with trekking, bike and Cat Ba town. Great scenarie and beautiful surroundings. Good food three times a day. Clean rooms, larger than expected with af beautiful sea view. Helpful and kind crewmembers. Best part was our guide Dem, who took care of us, gave us tips and made us laugh. Nothing to complain about.

This was an amazing experience! It was well planned and our guide (Binh) was very friendly and enthusiastic and managed to learn every person in the tour group’s name. We did the 2 days 1 night trip, which we worried might be too packed full of activities. Instead, we found that the itinerary was actually very well balanced between activities and time relaxing on the boat. The food was great with very good vegetarian options. The cabins were clean and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was cheerful the whole time. The kayaking was a fun two hour trip, leading to a beautiful lagoon where we could swim if we wanted. The other main activity was the cycling which took us around the coastline of a stunning island and then through a little village. We stopped at a cafe where you could try local rice wine or have a fish foot massage in which the fish nibble your feet! Thoroughly recommended, couldn’t fault it.

Top notch travel company! Just had a great trip with them in Ha Long and Lan Ha Bay. Can't recommend it enough - do the 2 nights 3 days package, you'll regret staying less time! They take great care of their customers, plan great itineraries, are super responsive, have terrific staff and make sure you are comfortable and smiling throughout. Shout out to our guide Tiger, a hardworking and awesome guy! Vega even helped me book flights when I had online payment issues, just truly helping any way they could. Review for 3 days 2 nights Unicharm Ha Long and Lan Ha bay cruise with Tiger Our Halong bay cruise was a wonderful start to our Vietnam travels and we would go again in a heartbeat. We cruised through Halong bay but spent the most time in Lan Ha bay and near Catba island which is much quieter than touristy Halong bay. Our tour guide Tiger took very good care of our group and made sure our experience was great! He definitely earns the badge of Vega travels no 1 tour guide 😉 The boat is a good mid-range choice, cabins are spacious and clean. The crew was very nice and the food was tasty. If you’re looking for a relaxing cruise with some activities but not too many (kayaking, trekking and cycling), the 3D/2N option is perfect!

Great 2 day 1 night trip to Ha Long bay and Cat Ba island. Takes a more private route to other ships and visits a small local village. Hieu our guide was very helpful with planning our onward trip and making all the activities fun with a bit of local knowledge added in.

One of the coolest experiences I have ever had! Ha Long Bay is a must but doing an overnight boat cruise...you have to do it! The team at Vega Travel/Uni Charm Cruises took such good care of us. We had Louis as our guide at first but he unfortunately had to leave early due to a family emergency. He was funny and knowledgeable, we really missed him! But Dem took his place and he was just as good! He always checked in on us while on the boat to make sure we were having a good time. The whole tour was a well oiled machine with all the logistics and activities we did, I was so impressed! The cabinette we stayed in was so comfortable and cozy, we didn't want to leave! The food served was so good too. Everything about our 2 day tour was phenomenal, I highly recommend going with this company when going to Ha Long Bay! They take you out further and away from the crowds of other boats. 10/10!

We had an amazing 2D1N cruise with Vegatravel (booked the Luxury option which was actually Unicharm)! From transfer from the hotel in Hanoi to Halong Bay and back everything went really great and was a perfect experience. Our tour guide Quang as well as the staff on the ship went over and beyond for us to have a great two days. The itinerary was perfect and exactly as promised. It was the best decision to take the cruise via Halong Bay to Lan Ha Bay as it is much quieter and less touristy - but equally if not more beautiful. The boat was in a very good shape and spacious for the only few passengers they take - also much better than most other cruises which are often packed. During the kayaking we were completely alone with no other tourists around and could enjoy the beauty of the bay. And also cycling on Cat Ba Island on the second day was a beautiful experience (even though a bit early for us 😉). I would fully recommend the tour to anyone!

Brilliant experience on the 2d/1n Ha Long/Cat Ba island cruise. We spent ages researching ahead of booking and are very glad we picked this one. Louis the tour guide was brilliant, the boat/rooms were great and the itinerary was really well put together, giving us lots of time for activities but also relaxing. Food was 5*. Drinks were good value (during the 2h happy hour averaged 35k for beers, 100k for cocktails). Definitely recommend.

Absolutely brilliant trip! Did the 2 days 1 night trip. Itinerary was great with kayaking, cycling on Cat Ba, swimming in a lagoon and a cooking class on the boat. Boat was very clean, amazing food and really lovely rooms. Quang Quack made our trip he was a brilliant guide from pick up all the way to goodbyes - friendly, kind, very knowledgeable. Really would recommend and have already told other travellers to book on. A lot less commercial and each place was not crowded at all.

This tour is definitely a must do! Reasonable prices to be treated like royalty. Hieu’s energy was the best tour guide! This man can do it all! He lead all the activities and was always with a positive attitude. I loved how there was something fun to do but never felt pressured to join. Also, the meals were delicious, I felt like I was at a 5 star buffet.

Had the most incredible experience with Tú from Vega for a trekking tour around Sa Pa and Bac Ha - the tour was tailored to our abilities and we were taken to many off the beaten track spots. We even extended our stay to do a motorbike tour into Lao Chai with Tú and explore Sa Pa further because of how much we enjoyed the experience. Vega has looked after us every step of the way, and we will be doing Ha Long Bay with them next too because of how incredible they have been

We booked a great trip to Mai Chau and Perfume Pagoda (3 days) with vega Travel. Our guide Louis was very friendly. This trip realy takes you off the beaten track and we had a wonderful homestay with a nice family just outside mai chau in a much less touristic village. We stayed in a clean room with private bathroom so more luxurious than we expected. We also booked the Halong Bay cruise with vega Travel (2days) Both the guides Tiger and Louis were very friendly and helpful. The cruise also took us to less busy areas and we could kayak,swim and take a bike ride to one of the villages. The food on the cruise was great and they made special vegetarian food on request which was super tasty!

When we booked this tour we knew it would be great because of the natural beauty of Lan Ha and Ha Long Bay. But we didn’t expect to get such a fantastic tour guide. Dem was greatly organized, professional and has a great sense of humor. He Is a genuinely caring and thoughtful man. We will never forget our time in the bays nor will we forget Dem. He is a great asset to his company and his country.

Booked a tour to ha long bai with vega, and it was perfect. We did a lot of stuff and got to know a lot about vietnam. Definitely recommend their services.

Found Vega Travel through The Lonely Planet and we were not disappointed at all. We booked online and automatic confirmation came straight through as well as a secure online payment link. Instructions were clear and easy to use. We met at the Vega Travel office where we were taken to the train station by the lovely staff member. She answered all of our questions and took us to our carriages and made sure we were in the right berth of the carriage. Water and snacks were provided by Vega travel for our journey. When we arrived in Sapa, we were met by the Vega Travel Driver who took us on our journey up the mountain. At Sapa, we had the opportunity to have a buffet breakfast and a shower (all included in the price). We were picked up at 9am by the wonderful tour guide Tu. He explained where we were going to go, how long it would take and answered any other questions we had. At this point, I knew Tu was going to be a fantastic tour guide. His English speaking skills were second to none and he had this infectious smile. It was going to be a good trip. We jumped on the bus, and headed to our drop off point. Now, something to be aware of - The local Hmong women will meet you at the drop off point and start following you and helping you along the trail. This is not organised by Vega, but do not worry, they are only there to help you and they are absolutely lovely people. If they were not there to help on the first part of the trail (it was rainy season, and extremely wet) then I would have given up it was that slippery!! (they will ask you to buy stuff when you get to their village though, and it was worth the money as the help they gave me was awesome!!) Anyway.. The trek was fantastic and Tu was the ultimate professional. He was awesome, funny, knowledgable, and an all round great guy. I have been on MANY tours, and hands down, Tu was the best tour guide I have EVER had. EVER! I would go on this trek again, just for Tu. The homestay we stayed in was amazing, comfortable and warm (it was cold when we were there). The family that we stayed with were lovely, friendly, and showed us a great time. All in all, this was my favourite tour of all time, and I would recommend this tour and tour company to everyone I talk to. Seriously, do yourself a favour and book a tour!! Thanks to Tu and Vega travel for the awesome experience.

We did the 2-day/1-night Bai Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay cruise. Our guide was Lala and she was amazing! She made every effort to make the experience entertaining and memorable, and it really made the trip. Kayaking was fun and we got to explore some caves. Accommodation on the boat was basic but comfortable, and the food was generous and generally pretty good. Overall a good trip, made fantastic by the guide Lala. Thank you!

We took a 2 day (1 night) cruise in Halong Bay which was incredible. The tour guide was very knowledgeable up to the point where he told us to relax on a beach for a while until the other tourist group would have left a particular location. The rooms on the boat were comfortable and the barman put on an impromptu evening of entertainment. Overall thoroughly enjoyable, although we did feel hearded at times.

Highly recommend Vega Travel to organise your trip in Vietnam. Chien in the office is super efficient and replies to enquiries very quickly. He customised our 9 day tour in Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Sa Pa perfectly. I have been to Vietnam a few times before and haven't had the level of care and attention provided by this company ever before. The Unicharm boat and itinerary was superb. Our guide for this part of the tour was Dem. His knowledge, care and sense of humour was highly appreciated by all. In Sa Pa our guide Tu was enthusiastic, energetic and knew the trekking area extremely well. Covid has been very tough for tourism everywhere and I hope that this company continues it's high standard and prospers in the future.

Vega was awesome. We were guided by Tiger and Dem for a Ha Long Bay trip. The kayaking and cycling was awesome. We kayaked and anchored at a very remote place where there were no boats and we even got to swim in the bay during kayaking and around the cruise boat. Food was awesome, staff was so friendly and rooms were very clean. The pickup and drop off was also on time which is a big plus.

Vega travels are quick to respond to queries and assist.. Their tour guides are friendly.. They took us to less touristy places at Ha long bay and trekking in SaPa which made the experience even more richer.. I would recommend Vega for tours in Vietnam!

Unicharm cruise exceeded all our expectations. It was made even more memorable thanks to our guide, Tiger! We enjoyed all the fun activities like kayaking, cycling, trekking, the beautiful sights, and delicious food on board. The trip was so good on our first day that we decided to extend our trip for another 2 days. (total 3D 2N) Highly recommend everyone to try this cruise for a less touristy cruise route around Ha Long Bay❤️

Two weeks in Hanoi and we relied on three different agencies for our tours outside the capital. The operators of the agencies have all proved to be very competent but Vega Travel has had something more. Attention to our requests, a lot of patience in fulfilling our wishes and extreme competence and preparation in their work.If you need a tour operator in Hanoi you must definitely rely on them. We thank Mr. Cuong for allowing us to live an unforgettable experience without having to worry about anything. Last note goes to the proposed costs ... a few dollars more than the others (10 dollars maximum per person) but justified when you see the differences with other agencies. Vega travel keep it up!

We have just done a 3D2N Ha Long Bay tour and it was amazing. The tour was in a great secluded over night stop away from all the other boats which gave it a magical feeling, especially for the the clear starry night. The itinerary was also great and varied and the food on the boat was also a highlight. The coach driver Liem was very safe and a great driver. Our guide Louis made the tour so special for us. His knowledge and kindness was amazing and he is one of the best tour guides we have ever had. We would recommend Vega Travel for all tours around Vietnam!

Loved our tour to Halong bay. The guide was informative and you know exactly what you were getting into. The only thing I wish I knew ahead of time was that the meal is served family style. So the vegetarians sit together. My boyfriend and I did the cruise and he eats meat, I do not, so we didn’t get to sit together. But overall, it was great value and we were super happy!

We just did a 3D 2N cruise through Ha Long Bay to Cat Ba and it was brilliant start to finish. From the pick-up from our hotel, to the boat terminal, to the cruise and back to our hotel, everything was well organised, very informative with our fantastic tour guide Louis, and great fun! The cruise boat itself is lovely, better in real-life compared to the pictures, the food is delicious and plentiful, the staff are very helpful and friendly and the drinks are high quality and reasonably priced. The tour itself is definitely worth the extra day, not only is it beautiful and relaxing but it’s also active and interesting. Finally, our tour guide Louis was so knowledgeable, kind, courteous and helpful. I am disabled and he was really supportive and respectful, arranging additional support where necessary. Overall, he made the trip.
