In Short AMAAAAZING. Food is so good; appz are creative and delicious, mains - meats spiced up amazingly and cooked perfectly and the rice (yes the rice) heaven and at the end, best baklava you'll have. On top of all that staff is great, Chef/owner is creative and you can tell he loves what he is doing, putting the extra effort into everything.

Recently moved to NS, and starting to explore around HRM. Last night my wife and I went to Smyrna for our anniversary dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful, food was on point from start to finish. I envision us returning many times to explore more delicious items from the menu. Well done chef!

Food was fantastic! Lovely girls night out for us with fabulous food to match! The mojitos were great and it was hard to go wrong with a mix of amazing meze. The patio was great and the service was just as good, we will definitely be coming back...loved the fact that we could reserve a spot on the patio made things just that much better and easier.

The best Turkish restaurant in the city. I highly recommend this restaurant; especially to Turkish, Persian, and Arab people. You can have the best quality middle eastern food here. There are really nice staff working at this restaurant. Management is also spectacular. Their customer service is excellent. The price is so reasonable. You really feel comfortable eating and drinking in this restaurant. As it was our baby's birthday, they surprised us by playing a Happy Birthday song and bringing balloons for her. I have been to most of the restaurants in this city and to all the middle eastern restaurants in the city; but, Smyrna is the best one!

Came back from Istanbul a month ago and was craving some Türkish kebabs. Was so happy to find this place and explore the area. Very kind staff and chef is an amazing person. Truly appreciate the experience at this restaurant. I am a lover of the rice, that they serve with meat, so I got an extra plate of rice ha-ha 🀍

This is such a small gem downtown! The atmosphere can be both fancy/ romantic for a date or casual and family friendly. It has beautiful clean, and cozy layout with beautiful persian rug and real flowers on the tables. The service was increadible fron the moment we walked in and the owners and staff go above and beyond to make every customer feel special and welcomed. They go the extra mile to take time to explain the menu, welcome you and make the whole experience warm. It is a huge shift from a chain or larger resteraunts as they spend a lot of time on the details. The food was delicious, well presented, large portions and as a vegetarian I found I had a lot of option to chose from and the owners were extra generous in even giving us tea and sweet at the end. I highly recommend this place for the food itself, the service, atmosphere and overall experience. I will be coming back!

Here's little story before going over food, I was honestly going for the hot chocolate, cafe next to it but I went straight up to it. Representative was so welcoming that I couldn't even say no to her. Haha. But I like exploring food so, I was like, airight, that's what God's plan is for today. Review:- Ambient, Amazingly bottles of wine were sticked up to the wall in real fancy way, I'm impressed. Not gonna post the picture of it, so it'd excite you with live view. Service, Of course representative was so welcoming, loved the way she was communicating, it was like talking to a good friend, Kinda positive energy. Food: One word, Overwhelmed. It was so much, bread was complimentary as well you can have it more. In Indian's you've pay for it. So it was kinda nice. I tried Kopanisti, It has so much feta cheese in it with very little sour spicy flavor and It isn't warm, Kinda thaw temperature. I loved it initially but had a hard time finish it. But if you love that kind heavy and flavor, it is for you. Turkish coffee: I wanted hot chocolate originally, since coffee is the warm and it was a day time. I was curious about coffees, She described turkish coffee what local loves. So, I went for it and it serves in a little tradition cup but it is strong mate, with a little marshmallows kinda cube on side, that's really fancy sweet mate, love it. Coffee is little thick with powder, I didn't like that much but people loves it. So, it's just not cup of my tea, I mean coffee. Prices: It is freaking cheap, She didn't charged me for the coffee as I didn't like much for that heavy food, it was barely 9bucks. Definitely, gonna go other time for wines and kebabs.

It was the best food I had in Halifax recently, service was great, Sila was very caring and friendly, she explained the traditional foods in detail for us. We ordered baklava at the end which was delicious. Overall it was an amazing experience. We’ll be back!

Absolutely astonishing place to be! I was fasting and had iftar here and I must say this is arguably the best restaurant in Halifax. The quantity was great for the price and the chef was too nice and gave us complimentary soup as it was our first time here. Must come, its HALAL too! ^_^

I’ve been to the Smyrna several times since returning to Halifax. I dined in and had deliveries too. I was so impressed with the service, pricing and the quality of the cuisine on every occasion that I had Michael, the chef, cater my son’s wedding in the Chester area. It was an unforgettable feast overlooking the ocean. Thank you again, Michael, for making an extraordinary day that much more extraordinary.

We really enjoyed authentic Turkish and Mediterranean food here, matched by excellent service. It's clear that everyone on staff works very hard to make this small restaurant special, and the food was simply delicious: from delightful meze spreads and small bites to delicate grilled octopus, to the theatre of saganaki, to tender kebab straight from the charcoal grill. Manti (Turkish mini-dumplings) and the desserts (baklava and kunefe) are all made in-house. A true taste of the Aegean in the heart of Halifax.

Decided to try this restaurant for take-out on our anniversary after researching "best Greek food in Halifax" and reading reviews. Glad we did! So happy with our food that it is now #1 on our list of favorites! Added the baklava at the last minute...TO DIE FOR!!!! Another nice surprise was to discover that Rick knows chef Michael from his previous restaurant! πŸ‘πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³

I travel for business and recently spent two years in the road in N America. My experience at this restaurant was exceptional.. outstanding. It felt like a truly Mediterranean experience! They offered complimentary olives, olive oil, and bread. I immediately thanked the chef. The Smyrna salad was out of this world. I almost cried. I highly recommend!

We were looking for a change from the Waterfront fare and found this gem just a mile away from Pier 21. We enjoyed our meal - kebabs prepared on a real charcoal grill in an open kitchen; babaganouch and eggplant sautΓ© made at the restaurant. But what we enjoyed the most is chatting with Chef Michael and friendly waiters after we finished dinner. Looking forward to our next visit to Halifax and to Smyrna.

We came here to get some Greek food and were not disappointed at all. The food was very yummy and Taylia, our waitress, was excellent. The menu is a nice diverse list with things for all tastes. The only small downside was the small choice in desserts. We tried the Knafeh, a Turkish dessert made with spun pastry soaked in a sweet syrup. It was a nice new surprise.

The quality of food was good however I found it a bit bland. The waitress was attentive which was nice and the food came out quickly. There seemed to be a smokey haze in the air at some points which I assume was from the grill.

I went on a Sunday evening at there was just one more table and it took forever to get the food. It was REALLY good BUT the octopus and one of my partners shrimp was a bit smelly.

One of my all time favourite restaurants in Halifax - incredible, caring staff & Owners. Beautiful Food. lovely candle lit atmosphere, perfect for a romantic date night. Absolutely in love with everything about this space. I highly recommend mixing the spinach tarator and falafel with babaganoush together, with bread and butter wine and baklava for desert. ❀️πŸ₯°βœ¨πŸ₯‚

I made a reservation for 4 for Smyrna and when we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly server who surprised me by addressing me by name throughout the evening! He was incredibly attentive to all of us at the table while we dined. The food was fantastic. We started with a generous portion of the house hummus and soft pita, which was terrific. The following were ordered as principal plates: Smyrna burger, seafood kebab, and lamb kebab. All were excellent (if there is one suggestion to be made: it would have been nice to have a slightly larger slice of halloumi cheese on the burgers :) The server continually refilled our water. The music wasn’t too loud, which was conducive to regular conversation. The atmosphere was pleasant. Very fresh food at a fair price, and again, wonderful service at the table.

This place has to be the most under the radar restaurant in Halifax. The food is absolutely unreal. Loaded with flavour without being salty, needlessly oily, etc. etc. Good variety, great portions for the price, and a flexible menu. The service is a touch inexperienced and probably could use a bump in confidence, but as far as the practical serving stuff is right on. In all fairness I was served by someone who must have been at the beginning of her career based on her age, and for that alone she did a bang-up job. Anyone looking for a great dining experience would be wise to invest their time and money in a visit.

I chose this place for a special night dinner, and after that, I kept suggesting this place to all my friends. Overall, I have been here twice, and I enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. This place has a great vibe, and I adore the place’s design. Regarding food, I have tried their Kebabs, Kofte kabab and their special dish, which includes three types of Kebeb, and I love all of those. And OMG, their Baklava and Kadaaif, with Turkish tea, are my favourite desserts 😊🧑
