The commons is a great little green space with lots to see and do. The oval is there for the kids to do things in all seasons and it is always bustling. Great place to eat lunch or read a book. Walk your dog or get a jog in. There’s a skate park and playground so lots of options for the whole family.

A beautiful and very valuable space in the heart of the city. This is one of my favourite places in the city and makes me proud of Halifax every time I am here. This is a true gift to the residents of Halifax. It has baseball fields, cycling tracks, the ice skating and recreational Oval, free skate and roller skate/blade rentals, as well as tons of space for people to do their own activities on the commons area. I frequently see people playing lawn games here, reading books, flying kites, learning how to cycle or skate, and generally just enjoying the space.

I was only here briefly to play a game of softball. It seems like a very nice large park that is very popular for all sorts of uses. It has an area for skaters and bikers as well as washroom, a water fountain and baseball diamonds. Along with several nice shady areas with trees

This is a wonderful place for leisure people or students. There is a wide common lawn, skatepark and the area for children to play. Further more, there is public ice-skating in winter. It's convenient to borrow pairs of skating shoes if you have a piece of ID card. There are some learning chair for new skater. In addition, there are permanent public washrooms on the other side of the Halifax Common. It might take a 2 minutes walk for parents to cross the common from those facilities just mentioned above. However, it might be a little fun to pass by the large fountain. Overall, it's relaxing to visit Halifax Common. I would prefer to be there with my kids.

It’s a large green area to relax or have fun. It’s ideal to play sports, jogging and more. There are public washrooms available and fountain. Emera Oval offers a great option to go rollerblading and cycling. I miss some sort of food and drinks tends/food trucks around there and benches.

A really nice park in a great location. However, this park is more geared toward the local community instead of tourists. There are softball diamonds, a skating loop in the winter, plenty of wide open green space that is often filled with people and their various sporting activities. There's a big skate park on the other side of the road and it's a great spot for larger events. They do currently have a plan in place to revitalise the space, but I don't think it will be done soon.

I live nearby so I came to take it for granted, but I do love this park and use it occasionally for soccer practice, softball spectating and frisbee throwing. Adds a lot to our open space system and to our general health.

This will become a 5* when the new pool complex is finally installed. It's currently a massive construction site and not really usable for a full third of the land. But the other half is great, it however really sucks when A) the bathrooms are locked and B) the water bottle filling stations are out of order. It's a drag on hot days.

The water fountain for drinking and refilling your water bottle doesn't work. Nice park with no hostile architecture. Unfortunately the no access to drinkable water makes it a 0

Great place to get out on green grass and enjoy some sun. Lots of ball parks and close to a public pool. Great place to run around in the summer.

Its fantastic place during eng Summer. Words will not fulfill the beauty of the place. Once visit with your children. If anybody good in skating and if children wants to ride cycle it's worth enough.👍👌🧑‍🦽🚴🏂

I walk through this area almost every day. The fields are great for laying, doing yoga, playing with your pup, or a game of baseball. This is an awesome community area that lets you relax and while still inside a city, enjoy a big green field. The oval is also great with being able to skate in the winter or bike in the summer, the concerts here are fantastic and there is even a skate park.

Great area for a walk, lots of space to throw a frisbee or sit in the grass. Sometimes there are friendly dogs playing fetch in the distance, if you're lucky you can say hi!

Absolutely love the oval in winter. Favourite part of the day is the speed skaters taking in the ice.

Great place for small or large gatherings! Sad about the splash pad not allowing dogs as it was scary hot today. And I wish there were more shady spots/covered spots. Otherwise happy with the paths and community areas

I went to Halifax Commons about a week ago late night. This place is huge and the water fountain looks beautiful at night with all the lights. It is a good place for a picnic with friends or just taking a stroll. There are also many places to sit down if you are tired by all the walking. Evenings is the best time to visit because you can see all the kids playing with their pets.

Great spot to bring your dog or have a picnic. Close to the Oval to skate in the winter or roller blade in the summer. Lots of ball fields that are used for recreational leagues. They are kept in decent condition.

Wickedest awesomest oval. All different types of bikes; wheelchair and no limb accessible rolling things to play on and mostly just lovely. FREE! We had the best time rollerskating!

This place is wonderful, lots of space for a picnic, baseball game, or any other activity you'd like to do with friends and famil. In the summers you can provide your id to rent bikes/trikes/scooters/skateboards/roller skates for free at Emera oval. In winters you can do the same for ice skating.
