I love the redesign. It's brighter and more welcoming. While I only stayed 1 night as it was a business trip, I mostly enjoyed my time there. Upon check-in and during checkout, the staff were attentive and friendly. I initially thought the parking was paid as I needed a ticket, however, when I left the next day, I found out it was free. I'm not sure if that's the case for non hotel guests though. I really enjoyed the hotel's proximity to the parks. The rooms were spotless and also modern in design. I think the rooms could have used a bit more insulation though as noise from the hallways and on a couple of occasions outside was somewhat annoying. I also wish I could have enjoyed the pool and gym, but due to COVID protocols, they are understandably closed. I also ordered dessert through room service from The Cannery. While the hot chocolate was just average, the Chocolate Eruption was unreal. I ended up eating it in shifts through the night. So much chocolate and so decadent and rich. I loved it. Overall, a nice stay.

Room was far below standards for cleanliness: bed sheets had dirt on them, there was a piece of old lettuce on a little desk that clearly had not been wiped, and a piece of a peanut (?) on the floor that was not swept up. They also provided 2 conditioners instead of any shampoo... Seems the cleaning staff need to pay a bit more attention to rooms. I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff while checking out, and the guy didn't even acknowledge anything I said or apologize. He simply said "your room is prepaid? that's all then." Atlantica, you're a hotel... Cleanliness and hospitality should be your top priorities. Otherwise, hotel itself is nicely redone and in a good location. Just needs to replace or better train its staff.

Looks like a nice Hotel but they clean it like it's a motel 6. Pretty disappointing to pay good money for a hotel room to have wine stains and coffee stains in the bed sheets. And coffee stains on the bed side table and long black hair all over the bath room. I was going to stay for a week but switching hotels now, I suggest you do the same if you don't want to sleep in wine stains.

Our server was great. My friend ordered the 🦞 grilled cheese with Caesar salad (shown below) and she loved it; I on the other hand ordered the Banh mi wrap, I knew by the description it was not traditionally prepared, however, I did not expect soggy limp rice wrappers because ...too many noodles and the whole thing just fell apart the minute it was picked up...I addressed the issue immediately with our server and asked if those were made ahead of time....the answer was affirmative I don't understand why they could not be made a la minute. I sent it back and opted for the beer mussels; well, I was served mussels in white wine, which were fine but very salty...also these were the smallest mussels I have ever had...tiny inside. Atmosphere is austere, nice and modern but very cafeteria feeling with no warmth whatsoever. So that's my experience I was hoping I could give it a higher rating as I dined at his restaurant prior to the renovations but I just cannot. If it weren't for the great service it would be lower.

This was my third time staying here. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They are very helpful with information to get around Halifax, transportation, and knowledgeable about the area if you’re looking for something in particular to shop for. I’ll definitely be back again. The rooms are always so clean and cozy. Everything is filled and ready to use. I highly recommend staying here. The food at the Cannery restaurant is delicious!!! I’ve had the chicken burgers, house salad, arugula salad, yogurt parfait, sweet potato fries, chicken tacos. All superb.

Highly recommend this hotel. Had the best time. Nice room, good food, and in walking distance from whatever you want to do. We went last year and met the bartender Jeff and it because of him we went back this year. If you book this hotel you need to just go to the bar and talk with Jeff. Best bartender I’ve ever met.

We had a great stay at the atlantica, love the location. It would be nice if we had complimentary breakfast or affordable prices. But we still had a pleasant stay, the first room we had was untidy but they switched to a nice clean room right away. Mattheu was great help. We are hoping the hot tub would be working during our next stay but we will be coming back again. The kids loved it.

We had a couple small issues when checking in but as soon as we brought it to the staffs attention it was corrected right away. Truthfully they bent over backwards to fix things. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly and attentive. Restaurant was fairly priced and the food was good.

Very disappointed. I rented an Executive Studio. They say this is the best and biggest room in the hotel and I’m very disappointed. You apparently need to request housekeeping services 24 hours in advance. I wasn’t aware of this. At more than $350 a night this seems ridiculous. However, when I left in the morning, I asked for the pull-out couch to be made into a bed and for extra pillows and towels (each queen-size bed only comes with 3 pillows instead of the standard 4, and there are only 2 bath towels in the bathroom. This for a room that the website says will accommodate 6 guests). We got back to our room at 11pm after a very long day and not only had housekeeping not come (I suppose because I wasn’t aware of the 24-hour rule) but they also had not come to make up the pull-out couch, nor had they brought the pillows and towels. I called the front desk and it’s now been 30 minutes and it is almost midnight. I told them when I called our kids would be sleeping on the pull-out couch. Apparently they won’t get to sleep until 1am? Room is also quite worn and equipment is old. There was a weird yellow stain on the side of our bed. Pull-out couch didn’t even have a fitted sheet and mattress is stained and looks dirty. Not what I expected for the price I’m paying. Also I was told the Executive Studio had a separate living room. It’s barely the size of a walk-in closet and has no A/C, so if you slide closed the barn-style door it’s a sauna. If you leave it open the room A/C struggles to cool down the entire space (sounds like a rattling old jumbo jet). The person who answered our call sounded very nice and professional. But nothing we asked for was done, so in the end the service is terrible.

Great location. Rooms are okay, was expecting more with all the “recently upgraded” chatter I see all over the website. Worked well for us but can definitely find better for the price.

Wonderful customer service. Beautiful room. Only complaint was as someone else pointed out the tap in the bathroom sink does not come out far enough from the sink. We were asked if we were there visiting for a particular reason and when we told them we were there for a family member in hospital they immediately gave us a discount on the room and parking. And on the day of check out they graciously allowed us to leave our car in the parking area so we could return to the hospital and not have to pay for parking there. Hotel was very quiet and we were able to get a good night sleep. Very impressed and we would recommend!

Tania was extremely helpful when we arrived at the hotel. She was able to get us adjoining rooms next to our granddaughters and provided great information on local attractions. The hotel was very clean and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. She is a valuable team member to your staff.

Rooms are high quality for the price, lots of parking, staff was friendly and a great location with beautiful views of the city. Only complaints were that the TV in the room didn't work very well (chromecast didn't work, channels listed weren't accurate) and the heater had a very off-putting smell. Otherwise was a great stay

Guest service/ receptionist Tania was very kind and friendly. Super fast service and nice accommodations. Gave us the best options and locations in town to see. I would recommend staying at this hotel. Very cleaned rooms and nice stuff. You would not regret your stay here.

Decent hotel with a few issues… We were greeted with a warm welcome and given all the information we needed, the room with was large and spacious with a large bathroom, all newly decorated / renovated. The only downside of the room and bathroom were that the tap was very short on the bathroom sink meaning it wasn’t easy to wash your hands freely under it and the when switching off the tap the water would run along the back edge of the sink / wall all the way along to the end of the counter… for the room it’s that there were no lights in the ceiling, you only work with lamps and the headboard lighting so you couldn’t get a nice bright light if you wanted one. Toiletries that were provided were of a good quality. We tried out the pool which was ‘heated’, to a certain degree… you could feel warm water coming in but the pool wasn’t overly warm. In addition, we went during the time when children weren’t meant to be in the pool, but of course there were and they were jumping around screaming and shouting… no one seems to care and no one ever came to check. The location of the hotel is very good though, it’s just across the road from the playing fields, cycle track and newly built public pool, close to downtown with its huge array of coffee shops, eateries and things to do and experience.

Hi! Just writing a review for this fabulous hotel and the incredible staff that work here! This will definitely be our touchdown hotel, as we are planning to be in Halifax quite a few times over the next several years. Love the staff, who I think of above and beyond to ensure clients are accommodated and they’re just so kind I feel like we’re with family when we stay at this hotel look forward to our continual stays

I went to your hotel last week. I stayed at your hotel last year. I can tell you that you added a new staff member, Tania. It's my understanding she started working less than a year ago. She was extremely hospitable and certainly understand how to welcome guests to your hotel. You made a decision in hiring her. Good decision. Maysam was also very caring and considerate to me and other guests. I felt that it was important to take the time to do review for these 2 individuals. Have a good day

Great hotel good service I was staying there for a couple nights for a hospital stay. Rooms were super nice and very clean. Beds were comfortable. Also had breakfast at the restaurant. Food was great! I talked with nick Over the phone for a room he was very helpful. Very close to the hospital too which I was very happy about. Thank you.

There because of its proximity to the QEII. They did offer a discount because of that situation. The room was adequate but no microwave was a problem. One is available for use in the lobby for the snacks/mini meals available there. The snacks there were unhealthy and limited - not to my liking. Including cheese, crackers and nuts or muffins would provide an alternative to "chips". The most challenging aspect about staying there is there parking.

The Atlantica Hotel in Halifax was amazing! Definitely 5 stars all around. The service was amazing from Tania (the receptionist) she was so kind, offered everything she could for myself and my family to Jeff (the bartender) who went out of his way to sit with us while having a drink and learn about who we were, and where we came from. The rooms were clean and there beds were very comfy. It was an awesome stay and we will definitely back the next time we are in Halifax!

Loved it. They have everything that a guest would need there. Beautiful place. Clean and quiet. Nice decorations throughout the building. Great neighborhood. Perfect location. There's a bar at the entrance of the hotel with a bar tender named "Jeff" who is very experienced at mixing drinks. He can make anyone a custom drink exactly the way that you want it.

A nicely renovated 3 star hotel in a convenient location (20 min walk downtown, 5-10 min drive) and well priced. Rooms were spacious, generally clean, comfortable beds and nicely equipped. Staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed extra sheets, etc. for the pull-out couch. There were a few issues with the room: bathroom door didn't close fully, no real bathroom fan. The pull-out couch "room" got really cold in the mornings. Breakfast buffet was OK (skip the "eggs") but not worth $17 pp (ours was included in our rate). Underground parking was $25 per night plus tax which is pricey.

This is the first time am using the hotel since the reno and pandemic. It looks amazing in here! Catherine Coutts was the service manager I worked with and she was just phenomenal. Patient, friendly and very accommodating. My guests liked their rooms and were comfortable. We had a reception at the Cannery, the platters were really really nice and they had a good collection to choose from. This was a great experience. I definitely recommend the Atlantica Hotel for your next stay in Halifax.

Horrible quarantine experience. Wifi is almost useless, taking forever to get the food from room services. The price is also quite expensive. AC in my room was dirty as hell, I must clean it myself. You can't open the window for some fresh air and there's no real light in my room. It's also facing construction sight so it's really loud for most of the time. The front desk was also not helpful at all for the most of the time. Also there's no fan in the washroom, so you can't get the smell out after using the toilet. The TV is working, so it's a good news, but it's also extremely slow. Also, the coffee maker in my room is not working, have to spend 3 dollars for a coffee everyday.

I really wish I could give them more but our rooms A/C wasn’t working so we had a miserable 1st nights sleep, to there credit they switched rooms for us the next morning. They said they had parking but since we brought our truck it sat in front of the doors for 2 nights as it was unable to fit underground. They had Laundry facilities on site but one of the 2 washing machines wasn’t working so I lost 4$. The food was not very good at all BUT the staff was friendly & for the most part very helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Location is close enough to the main downtown if you don’t mind walking.

First time I have been here since the renovations. It's beautiful. The rooms aren't huge, but the service and decor makes up for the lack of room size. You can get room service from the amazing Cannery Restaurant downstairs. So delicious! Sadly, the pool was closed for renovations. I am excited to return here again soon.

We were hesitant to stay here initially due to previous bad reviews about service and cleanliness but we had a good stay! The Atlantica is in a good location and fairly modern! Has a all you can eat breakfast downstairs at a charge that was pretty good and overall we had a very good experience with front desk and housekeeping!

We stayed 2 nights at the end of July, 2022. The service was great, the room was clean and had a great view of the park. Close to downtown - easy walking distance for us. The best part was the bartender we chatted with at the hotel bar on night one. We were scouring Google maps for a spot to have a nice dinner late at night. We had gotten off a delayed flight and were looking for somewhere to sit down and have a good dinner and a few drinks. He gave us some amazing recommendations and we had a great night!

Stayed her for my sisters wedding. The wedding was fabulous great food good service. The rest of the hotel fell short. Felt more like a motel than a hotel. Will not return. Pool was closed. Underground parking horrible really small spots. People were getting locked Underground.

I stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip. I had to phone housekeeping each day to get fresh towels as they never came to refresh the room. Even with the sign on the door all day, nothing was completed. I phoned one evening for a new towel and after waiting an hour I had to go to the front desk to request one. The staff were always friendly and the restaurant was great.

  • 4/5 C C. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms was comfortable and clean. The services was great and really nice. You can hear a lots from the hall and if you have a door in the room connecting to another room. Fortunately, after 10 p.m. it was quiet during my stay. There was smell of weeds multiples places.

  • 1/5 Mallory W. 1 year ago on Google
We had a power outage (we were compensated but not nearly enough), our car was broken into (our fault for not locking but there was no security footage for their parking which we paid for lol), along with the fact that the pool is closed for renovations and that wasn’t noted on the booking site we used. To add we had one of the top floors and the flooring/ ceiling was so slopped that the shower door kept sliding open. Overall we won’t be staying here again.

  • 5/5 barbara m. 1 year ago on Google
It has been six years since I stayed at the Atlantic’s and the changes made were awesome…it has a fresh new look…the staff is great and everyone is very helpful. I was there for five days and found the room comfortable, the Cannery adequate and the buffet breakfast was well presented. The staff were decision makers if you wanted something different they arranged it. My only complaint was the gathering of non residents in the foyer on the couches..mainly young men who were boisterous. I will recommend this hotel to my friends……the closeness to the hospital is a key element when locating from out of town.

Platinum King Room was immaculate. Beautiful tile in the washroom and great updated shower. Mirror in the washroom was great and small makeup Mirror which was a great luxury. The room was very clean and the staff was kind and helpful. Pillows on the bed could have had different sizes instead of 4 of the same, I found them a tab too high but that's going out of my way to find something wrong.

  • 3/5 Jake M. 1 year ago on Google
Not bad for a mid tier hotel. It is blatant they are striving to be more than they are which is great but slightly pathetic in a sense. The worst part of my stay is that there was a small spot of excrement on the shower floor (the shower is walk in, no tub and shares a tile floor with the rest of the bathroom). It must have been missed by the cleaning crew which is very unfortunate. Breakfast not being included was rather silly as well. The bed was comfortable and the view was decent. Not bad for a last minute stay.

I stayed at this hotel from November 7-9 2022 as I had important priorities at the IWK. On the very first night my travel companion woke up to actively being bit by BEDBUGS! As he is very allergic to them he had immediate huge welts that will last for weeks. We quickly captured a full grown bedbug in a plastic cup and phoned guest services. They swiftly moved us to a room that was not clean and then again to a third room that housekeeping hadn't neglected. Upon check out we be brought up the issue and were refunded for that one night. The second night was rather restless as we expected very little from the cleanliness at this point. I gladly would have stayed anywhere else had the possibility of bringing bedbugs elsewhere hadn't existed. I will absolutely not stay with Atlantica on Quinpool Road in Halifax ever again. Beware this hotel! Halifax has a major bedbug problem and unfortunately a hotel that costs nearly $700 for two nights isn't worth a fraction of the cost. *At checkout after explaining the bedbug issue we were told we were receiving a refund for the first night but in the end our $467 price tag (this is aside from the $200 deposit) was refunded $94... Absolutely foolish.

My mom and step dad just got married here a few weeks ago. The staff was amazing! The renovations to the lobby and the restaurant make such a difference! It's truly beautiful with a great view overlooking the commons. It was great to use the natural lighting from the big windows for the photos. I was in their suite to get ready and the room was nice and clean and they really enjoyed the treat platter they had set up in the room. Overall we had a great time! Would very much recommend if you're looking for a wedding venue!

We stayed here for our second time recently. It was for our 1st anniversary. The staff was amazing. Especially the Bruce the Bartender. He was so friendly, Fun to talk to and Charismatic. The whole staff really went above and beyond. Anything we asked for we received immediately. For our anniversary dinner. They put us in a quiet corner by ourselves as to not be disturbed. The food was amazing. It tasted fantastic and looked even better. The room was clean, with a modern decor. However, when we got there our soap was empty, and the shower door didn’t like to stay closed. Our room had a wonderful view of the city. I look forward to staying here again and I would recommend it for anyone celebrating something or just looking to get away
