My kids found this place from TikTok , we were very pleased with it. Our first stop in Halifax as we landed at 6am, rented a car and came here for breakfast. It was a pleasant way to start our trip. Great coffee and breakfast was really good

One of my all time favourite spots for a caffeinated beverage or food. I would eat here pretty much everyday when I worked in Halifax but I still try to make it for lunch anytime I’m in the city because their food is awesome. The yogurt sundae always pleases the taste buds but you honestly can’t go wrong with their menu. This is where I discovered avocado toast, (which I like to add seitan bacon to) and my favourite soup of all time, the mushroom purée. The soup isn’t always on their menu but when it is, I suggest you try it. I could literally buy it by the gallon I Love it so much. Staff here is wonderful and the café itself is cute and lovely to eat in. I’m looking forward to stopping in again soon for a bite. 🤤❤️❤️❤️

Sweet little spot, very aesthetic decor and little baked goods. Also pretty unique latté flavours which was fun - didn't expect molasses ginger to go so hard. Kind of wish they had given me the decaf that I had asked for because by midnight I could most definitely tell that it was, in fact, not decaf.

The best service. Delicious coffee! I highly recommend the yogurt parfait. There is limited seating as this is a hot spot it’s a must try.

I wish I took pictures of the food, because the Egg & Ham Croissant daily special was especially amazing. The ambiance is relaxing and bright and the staff is friendly. Good vibes to sit down and chill.

Great coffee and friendly service! The atmosphere is cute and welcoming but can be very crowded (which attests to the high quality of the food/drinks) A nice spot to go to if you’re looking to spend time with a friend. However, they do not allow laptops before 3pm so not a great place to study or work in.

This cute little cafe is right near the hospital. I stopped by here for some breakfast and ordered a latte and the smoked salmon scramble. This came quite quickly to my surprise! The side greens were a little too salty, but paired with the eggs, overall they were decent. The bread was also nicely toasted. The service was great, the ladies there were super nice and upbeat. The art/decorations and writing were also very cute and well done. They added some coziness to the cafe's vibe.

So glad we stumbled upon this cafe to try out! The cafe has a fun vibe inside, nicely decorated with tables both inside and out if you’re looking to stay. My fiancé and I both just came in for coffees- the baristas concocted a brown sugar mocha latte (it was absolutely delicious) and he got a regular drip. Both our coffees tasted great! Would definitely come back- the food looked yummy!

Great cafe. They've got all the hot drinks that you want. They also have delicious bagels and some sandwiches. There is even a couple parking spots on the side. They have a wonderful location very close to the commons. The only drawback is that at peak times they get very busy and so everything could take longer than you might planned.

Amazing food and nice, friendly service :) Very crowded indoors but the outdoor patio was great to sit and eat at

The best cafe in the maritimes, without question. A place like this is impossible to recreate if you don’t have Laura (the owner) and her lovely staff. It’s a tribe of good people, who attract good people. Any negative reviews of Dilly Dally are made by negative people. Ps. My niece Rosie thinks the bathroom feels like a sauna. But she also eats giant rainbow squares, so she can’t be trusted. Pps. If you haven’t had a Farley cookie from here yet you haven’t started living.

While it may be a bit slow when you get food, it’s absolutely always worth the wait. They make everything fresh to order, and can even make things still taste great when you have food sensitivities or allergies! Today I was starving and stopped by for lunch. I’m so glad I did! As I waited for my order, I enjoyed looking around at the funky decor of dinousaurs, mini pumpkins, and watching the sat work so well together in such a small space! They all seemed genuinely happy to be there and equally happy to serve customers! I watched as they greeted customers -and one another- with big smiles, jokes, and open arms as if we were all part of an ongoing kitchen party where they do ask your name, and treat you like the kind of neighbours who eventually become great friends :) I smiled as I watched a green and black feathered bird picking up food scraps by the open door to the back deck. I smiled again at the lady who came in with a baby on her front, and a dog by her side- I can’t tell if I imagined it or not; but it seemed like this customer was served with warmth and extra efficiency so she could get in and out in a timely manner. To tip it all off, the food was amazing! The lactose free London fog was so smooth and perfect drinking temperature after a few gentle sips. My crispy Mac and cheese was to die for! I was floored by the beautiful plating - even though it got it to go! The roasted tomatoes were so fresh and juicy - the whole dish was perfectly executed from the flavours to the textures and beyond! The quinoa salad bowl was such a nice filling and hearty veggie packed surprise too! I found braised Brussels sprouts, carrots, turnip, broccoli, and these amazing candied pecans that gave it a nice sweet/salty crunchy balance to the the rest of the ingredients :) The food was so good that I almost didn’t want to write this review because, what if they run out and I can’t have it again? But something like this was literally too good not to share! This place deserves all the credit :) go eat there and #supportlocal. You won’t be disappointed!

For a cafe Dilly Dally hits all the spots, perfect morning coffee with delicious breakfast. Highly recommend this over any big chain cafés.

Great staff, amazing food, wonderful atmosphere. Baked goods are baked in-house, and there is indoor and patio seating. Good takeaway packaging. My usual is either the avacado toast and a Chai latte (espresso art included) or the grilled cheese. The kitchen closes at 2 pm, but sandwiches and coffee are open until 5 pm.

Ordered brown sugar mocha latte. It was good but little extra sweet. The ambience was good. Main kitchen closed at 2 pm so couldn’t order any food to eat.

Always great treats here, but I love the coffee. Staff is always pleasant and service is great. Parking is a challenge anywhere on Quinpool, so park on a back street and walk if the lot is full. Walking is the best experience anyway.

Cute little place, I got the lavender latte and was a bit hesitant but wanted to try something new. It was delicious without being soapy! I'd definitely go here again

I’ve heard great things about Dilly Dally, but my experience today was mediocre at best. I got the brown sugar latte and it was delicious, but my croissant was super sticky, sweet and hard to eat. The staff is very dismissive and not very friendly. There also isn’t very much seating, so I’d recommend just getting a to-go coffee.

This became my local coffee shop, well visiting Halifax for a week. Our Airbnb was not far and after trying several coffee shops in the area, this became my favorite. Great coffee, nice staff, and an array of breakfast sandwiches, and treats. It’s a tight space, so not a great environment to pull up your computer and do work, but it’s a great place to grab and go or sit outside if it’s nice.

Cute cafe with a diner vibe. Fresh and locally sourced ( where possible I suppose) products. A wide range of offerings of baked goods , sandwiches, coffee based and other beverages. Busy most of the time but service is efficient and goes pretty quickly. Indoor seating and an outdoor patio.

One of the most amazing cafes that I have been to! We were on a friend's trip to Halifax from Ottawa and were staying close by. We got coffee and pastries every morning! Everything was so tasty!

Friendly cafe Vibe! If you are in Halifax try this place. They have vegan, veg, non veg options. Also, have different flavours to add in coffee. My fav is Ginger molasses.
