I'm a Brit on holiday in Canada.... firstly I learn that Winnie the Pooh is Canadian and now I find that also the Cunard Shipping Company also has Canadian roots. Both I thought were British through and through. What will I discover next?

On your stroll in Galifax Waterfront, you cannot miss Samuel Cunard's statue. He was an influential figure in the history of the city with his involvement in the ship making industry.

This beautiful statue is a great spot for taking pictures between Pier 21 and the Halifax harbour boardwalk.

Can't miss this statue as it's right at the end of Marginal Rd by the pier. It's located at the whards where Cunard's ships were docked historically.

Halifax native Samuel Cunard pionered ocean steam navigation. This prominent sculpture commemorates this important shipping magnate who played a pivotal role for decades in Halifax's affairs. As for the monument itself, while I like this statue, I prefer more the nearby sculptures "The Volunteers" and "The Emigrant".

Well maintained monument to the father of Cunard Lines in a lovely location in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Not many people stop to read the inscriptions.

Statue of Samuel Cunard, located right near the parking lot on the way to the waterfront.
