Das Kunstmuseum Moritzburg in Halle/S. ist immer seinen Eintritt wert. Egal ob es die ständigen oder es die wechselnden Sonderausstellungen sind. Für eine Stadt wie Halle ist dies nicht selbstverständlich. Vor allem gibt es hier eher unbekannte Themen, die jedoch hochinteressant sein können, wie man auch dem Plakat entnehmen kann. Ich habe mir heute die Sonderausstellung "Der anderen Picasso" angeschaut. Diese Ausstellung zeigt eine völlig andere Seite dieses Ausnahmekünstlers. Einfach einmal anschauen! Viel Spaß dabei.

Die Sammlung ist sensationell! Gerade für die erste Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts ist der Ausstellungsraum unfassbar gut bestückt. Die Kunst in der DDR nimmt einen weiteren großen Teil ein und füllt bei mir wohlbewusste und dennoch seither offengebliebene Lücken. Mich hat ein Museumsbesuch selten so glücklich gemacht wie dieser hier, nicht zuletzt auch wegen des sehr freundlichen Personals.

Die architektonische Gestaltung des Ensembles ist beeindruckend souverän, einfühlsam und virtuos. Ich bin begeistert. 11 von 10 für Nieto:Sobejano🙌🏻. Die Ausstellung lohnt sich auch;)

Eine sehr schöne Ausstellung in der sich auch Kinder beschäftigen können. Unsere Tochter ist 10 Jahre alt und war begeistert. Es war aber etwas kühl in den Räumen und man darf keine Jacke mit ins Museum nehmen.

The most beautiful museum I ever saw. The medieval building was renovated and combined with modern architecture giving a spectacular outcome. Placed in a very nice town it's currently hosting an Gustav Klimt exhibition - worth to see! We came specially to see it, once we saw the Information about it in Berlin.

Ja, es gab und gibt bemerkenswerte Exponate und Sonderausstellungen im Kunstmuseum Moritzburg Halle. Allerdings stark Männerlastig und sich am sattsam bekannten Kunst-Mainstream orientierend: Gustav Klimt, Karl Lagerfeld, Willi Sitte, Franz Marc, Picasso. - Schade, dass Kunstwerke bedeutender Künstlerinnen des 20. Jahrhunderts, wie (u. a.) Thea Schleusner und Else Hertzer, beide im nahen Wittenberg geboren, nicht präsent sind im Kunstmuseum Moritzburg Halle - Saale und die Wertschätzung solcher Künstlerinnen ein reines Lippenbekenntnis ist. - Frühwerke von Else Hertzer würde man ja zeigen, aber - es darf keinen Cent kosten und es müssten die besten ihrer Ölbilder zur Vergüngung gestellt werden plus ein illustriertes Werksverzeichnis, auch dies gratis versteht sich. - Die tatsächliche Wertschätzung für die bemerkenswert vielseitige und auch politische Themen gestaltende Künstlerin aus Sachsen-Anhalt findet bislang in Thüringen, in Bayern und in Berlin statt. In Sachsen-Anhalt bleibt es bei Lippenbekenntnissen.

Eine kleine gemütliche Ausstellung mit gut ausgewählten Werken! Es gibt auch ein kleines Café in der Burg, in dem man sich nach dem Besuch ausruhen kann. Der Eintritt ist recht günstig und für Studenten, mit Vorlage von einem Nachweis, kostenlos. Wenn Sie Ihre Taschen oder Jacken verstauen wollen, sollten Sie dringend Münzgeld (1€ Stücke) mitbringen, die braucht man nämlich für die Schließfächer.

Nice place full of art. But, the guidance system has no English option. All those paintings have a story, but in German. It should be revised. In addition securities are continously staring at the visitors as if they pretend to steal those paintings. Unfortunately, it is irritating.

A lovely place to visit! Very fascinating exhibition, much better than i expected. The building itself and the room look absolutely gorgeous and deserve your attention.

It's getting a 2 star because of their attitude when I complained about the use of the 'n' word in a description of one of the art pieces. It's not acceptable in the 21st century and especially not in a museum in former East Germany The building is none the less absolutely stunning. The juxtaposition of the old buildings and modern glass walls and architecture are a joy to experience. The ceilings and the rooms in the smaller house section of the museum are a paean to the best that can be achieved by paying nobility employing top artists to decorate and embellish their home environment. From the ancient and still viable double glazing and central heating to the stunning inlaid ceilings. The whole place is a visual (if racist) joy to the eye.

Habe vor langer Zeit in Halle studiert. Ich habe damals, um ehrlich zu sein, nie einen Fuß in die Moritzburg gesetzt. Sicherlich kein Grund, stolz zu sein. Den Besuch habe ich im August 2023 nachgeholt. Um mir die Halle-am-Meer-Ausstellung anzusehen, bin ich in die alte Universitätsstadt gefahren. Und habe den Ausflug nicht bereut. Die Ausstellung ist sehenswert, ohne jeden Zweifel. Keine Weltklassekunst, aber viel Geschichte, eine angenehme Atmosphäre und ganz viel fürs Auge. Empfehlenswert!

We spent a disappointing morning at this museum. The special exhibition (Klimt) was a big attraction, and there was no timed admission system. You simply had to queue, once to get the ticket (only one person selling them!!) and then, a surprise, a second time inside the museum. We finally saw a Klimt work an hour after arrival, and we were relatively lucky judging by the length of the queues on our departure. The organisation needs rethinking - I now realise that the one person at the cash desk was a filter to limit the internal queue - timed admission, pre-bookable tickets are the way to go! We shall not return here. The exhibition itself was also a disappointment - rather small, and poor value for the entrance fee.

An exceptional museum. Fascinating insight into the struggles and triumphs of artists in the DDR.

An outstanding art museum--the bulk of the space is devoted to temporary exhibitions. Presently the Moritzburg is (September 2019-January 2020) hosting an exhibition on modernism, expressionism and Bauhaus in Halle between 1900 and 1933, focusing particularly on bringing back works that were removed from the collection in 1937-39. Plan about ninety minutes for the permanent collection, plus two hours additional for the temporary. Easily reached by tram from Halle (Saale) Hauptbahnhof.

Visited for the current Klimt exhibition which was good but quite small. Had to queue in the freezing cold for nearly 90 minutes, which I guess indicates how popular it is. Also has a large permanent exhibition of German art.

This is a museum for local artists. They also have some collections from medical time again local collection. Maybe it’s not a place for tourist? Building itself is worthy to check out how converted to an art museum. They have a ample parking lot. We parked our car here to go Handlehaus.
