We were at this bar two times during a Hamburg weekend. Both experiences were great. The first time we went in and had two shots of jägermeister. The vibe was happy semi chaotic. An old man was reading a paper in a corner. There was broken glass and beer all over the floor. A 30 something woman was singing loudly and dancing around the place. A group of rowdy men drank beer in a booth and the jukebox was delivering classical German tunes. The other visit we were heading for Nordlicht but it was closed. This Sunday the vibe was more chill. An old couple drank beers in silence. People drank shots at the bar. We ordered two Astra and headed for the jukebox. 2€ got us twelve songs: Freddy Quinn, Elvis Presley, toto and more. We got a corner table and drank 30 Astra’s. I remember going to the toilet and being impressed that they had ashtrays at the urinal. Someone had also puked all over the urinal and the toilet but I’m not pointing any fingers. All in all a great experience and will highly recommend.

If you're looking for a fun time, this is the bar to be. The chaotic atmosphere, the wide variety of customers and cheap beer al ensure an interesting experience.

Very cosy but basic Bar with good drinks and really nice people. Had loads of fun there meeting new people and singing german songs with the whole crowd! Definitely worth to check out as a more traditional Hamburg Pub and not fancy but very nice with mixed public.

Top Kneipe full with style and typical German music. You will have the S. Pauli feeling here.

Awful toilets. Service is good. People are packed. They screamed to suppress the music. Music is not at the front. There is cacophony in this pub and I did'nt like it.

Some places never change. Still the same good ole gem of a long bygone time. Had to go and pay Hommage to Erna.

A very different experience but worth a visit. Be prepared if visiting Hamburg from areas that have smoking bans in pubs. It was like a blast back to the 90s for me as the air was filled with smoke but it did add an old school feel. The pub was packed and the atmosphere was good. A lively spot in an original setting.

Very traditional hamburgian pub for cheap drinks. If you are a smoker make it five stars otherwise better look somewhere else, because nearly everybody inside is smoking.

Old original pub from back in the good old days. Not for non-smokers. Big shroud of smoke meeting you inside the doors. If you are a smoker though, then it's a nice place to visit, even if you are non smoker and wants to see an original pub. But sadly the grey shroud ruins the overall experience in the end...

Old school dive bar in the heart of Reeperbahn. Charming, crowded, and chaotic. Good prices and a fun environment.

Loved this old dive bar in Hamburg. Cold drinks good music and nice barman. Lots of regulars. Feels like one of the original sailor bars and that it hasn’t changed much in decades. Even though it’s right off the Reeperbahn it’s not full of drunk stag party bros. More of a local hangout. Smoking allowed.

Amazing local pub just outside the reaperbahn. Two main drinks in this pub, astra served in a stein and a shot of bloody Mary! Both well worth buying. Friendly staff and friendly locals, loved it here and would go back again in a heartbeat.

So much like an old Glasgow haunt. Willing to put up with the smokiness to reminisce.

Nice place with alright prices, beers at 3,5 euros and shots at 2,5. It has a bit of a run down vibe to it, and the music is fairly bad a lot of the time, but that's to be expected. Be aware that they don't accept card.

Always loved Silbersack. One of the best cult places still existing in the Kiez. Authentic, good mood, standard beers...and now some craft.

Simple place, but really traditional, good beer, good price, prepare to smell like a cigarret

Nice vibe, slightly too crowded. People can smoke inside, maybe not so good for non-smokers

An old school dive bar in Hamburg with quite a history. I didn’t know that photography wasn’t allowed inside, and I was scolded by one of the staff (like very loud). Read a lot of good reviews about this place, but it’s not very special, plus the fact that I got scolded so I might be bias here.

Old school German pub reminiscent of Cold War era Germany. Visited because of the film ‘A most wanted man’.
