The place is nicely located next to the channel with a great view. It's not a real restaurant, it's more an extended café with some meals such pizza or roast beef with potatoes and salad. Most customers get a drink, a snack or cake. Staff speak English but there is no English menu. Also there is no free WiFi network. I asked to seat on the first floor to get a better view but it is closed. Some prices are expensive and not sure it is justified as they are very normal dishes.

Tourist trap. A generic breakfast cafe with mediocre food charging Soho House prices, like €6.60 for a small glass of orange juice and €14.50 for avocado toast. The guacamole wasn’t even fresh, and, inexplicably, contained red beets. Two stars because at least the service tried their best.

I want to thank the manager of the restaurant for his kindness after a payment snafu. He was so gracious and accommodating. Also, the pizza was fresh and the atmosphere was lovely…right by the river.

I was there and it was all about noises. They were doing some works. The staff is not kind enough. Overpriced.

Clearly dislike English people! The man who greeted us downstairs was nice other than that there was nothing else nice about the experience at this place. Left waiting for 20 minutes before someone even came to take our order. Rude waitress and waiter upstairs. Extremely expensive for mediocre drinks, wish we had chosen a different cafe. Horrible experience for our first drink in Germany. DO NOT RECOMMEND - ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE ENGLISH!

I don't know where to start. Probably the only good thing about this place is the location. Here's a breakdown of what happened: - We (2 persons) were sat at a 4-chair table. - Waited for 10 minutes to be given the menu - Another 10 minutes for the waitress to take our order - The waiter splits our table for another couple as they ran out of space - The other couple orders a similar food to ours - The staff completely mess up the orders as they split the tables. The other couple get our order instead and we were told nothing - Another 10 minutes for the staff to realise they messed up our order (which had only eggs in it to be boiled, other ingredients were just from the fridge) - Now 40 minutes have passed since we ordered. The staff admitted they'd messed up our order. - The order comes with one missing boiled egg, which we'd pointed out straight away - The second egg comes after 15 minutes - We ate, paid and left the place. All in all it took us over an hour to eat boiled eggs, bread rolls, gouda and some cold cuts. Now I could've prepared this breakfast at home in 6 minutes as I would boil the eggs and plate the other stuff. The service in this place clearly needs looking into as I read from other reviews. Finally, it's definitely overpriced as pointed out in other reviews too. 6 EUR for juices, soft drinks etc. The Melange breakfast plate that we had was about 18 EUR. Even London is not that expensive. It could be a good place as it does have some potential with the location and the views. But not for now.

After a day of shopping this was perfect spot to recharge. The views and location are very nice, the renovated interior looks elegant but cozy and the staff was super friendly, they were easy to speak English with. I had pasta which was delicious and very good portion. Would definitely recommend. I’ll be back 😊

This place became one of my favorites in the city for their great meat quality, beautiful location and their friendly atmosphere.

Only the cappuccino was nice and hot! I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon and it was barely lukewarm! Told the waiter and his response it’s normal it’s hot outside! Rude! I decide how I want my food!

We went to cafe melange and we ordered is omelet in a pan and vegan somthing. in my life we never have tasted so bland food that I had to leave it half way. No salt and fool of oil and the potato omelet was not even cooked well. Sorry to say Service was kind of rude or with out pation

The stuff was very professional. Food was delicious. I recommend everyone taking hamburg fish as main course! Pleasant view and friendly atmosphere :)

Food was really good. Service was good until the bill came. He demanded a tip but never showed me the bill just told me how much it was. I was alone and he clearly was trying to take advantage of that. Totally ruined the experience. Would never go back.

First of all, I just saw they made me pay €2 too much (very expensive beer). Second of all, the waiter who overcharged me ran after me saying I didn’t pay even though I paid the check with him 5 mins before. So yeah, wouldn’t recommend. Guy was also weirdly flirty.

Would not recommend. My first restaurant experience in Hamburg and I was shocked by the customer service. we wanted to order drinks and food. We have ordered drinks first and were still thinking about food. I was still holding and reading my menu but the waitot took it from my hands and handed it to other customer. So I guess I was not allowed to eat there. We finished our drinks and left. I hope my next experience will be better.

Great and very hospitable café right in the city center. We came with a group of 10 on a Saturday, and Lorenzo went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Thanks a lot for the service! Also, the Glühwein and Christmas gin are delicious and very reasonably priced for the area.

My check totaled €40, but the waiter insistently (!) asked me to leave a tip. There was no petty cash, and there was only € 10. I didn't finish my order. I asked for a togo box, and they answered that there wasn't any, but there was a foil, which I could wrap the salad in (what???) I was going to leave 10% tip, which would be €4-5 and asked for €5 change, on which the waiter hastily hid the money in his wallet and left. I do not feel sorry for the money, I do not understand this attitude to customers. Shocked…absolutely not recommend.

Perfect place near water, service works very quickly, they are very friendly and helpful - cold and hot drinks there are just perfect! ;) You can be there relaxed thanks the atmosphere. ;)

Sat down by a very friendly waiter who accommodated us and spoke English with us. However that was the end of our good experience. We waited 10 mins to get menus and the waiter, a different one, who gave us the menus just threw them onto the table. He then came back and asked what we wanted, didn't seem to care, wasn't accommodating at all to my partner's request about having cold milk with her flat white. When charging us for the flat white coffee, which was 6,60 euros, he refused to show how much he had put on the machine and kept trying to tap the machine with our card, until we refused to pay. We only wanted to double check he was charging the right amount and not including service charge as we didn't want to pay for that due him being rude, unprofessional and ruining our experience. Luckily the coffee did taste nice and the view and atmosphere were lovely. But completely ruined by the price and an extremely horrible waiter.

Nice cozy place in the heart of the city. The staff is friendly and attentive, always making sure I am comfortable and everything I need. Delicious food and tasty drinks!! They have a nice terrace with view on the water, where I love to sip my coffee and enjoy the beautiful view of Hamburg. Love this cafe <3
