These are from a really interesting exhibition, taking place right now from artist Tom Sachs about NASA at the Deichtorhallen.

I had wanted to go to this venue already in 2018 but didn't manage to go. So this year it was on the top of my list. As an avid photographer since my childhood I have always been fascinated bytes photographs and how they were taken the story behind so to speak. The photos on exhibition here are world class and very well presented. We were lucky to arrive fairly early in the morning because there was a long queue forming when we left. There is an excellent gift shop and generous toilet facilities.

An interesting location for a museum, and the exhibition was quite well organized. Also nice to have a wardrobe. However the art was really quite lacking and felt like it came from mediocre students of a local art college. The rather expensive entry fee didn’t therefore quite feel justified

Classic common places of photography + Laurie anderson, all revisited without a new idea. Absurd setting up makes it difficult to view.

Deichtorhallen had music and culture related exhibition which offered inspiration using sounds, videos and pictures. Space itself worked nicely for the event and was located close to railway station. There was also another building with a exhibition but it didn't seem to be open when I visited.

Great space. Admission reasonable. Current exhibit (September 2018) is all street photography. A small percentage of which is interesting and well done. Most is not especially compelling

Huge gallery with rotating programme of photography exhibitions. The current Street Photography exhibition is excellent - a number of photographers from various backgrounds working in very different styles are brought together in a large but coherent show. Put a couple of hours aside to explore.

Top location; the exhibition: my opinion is... for a first contact with this fantastic artists it's a satisfactory compilation of paintings. Only appetizers, nothing more.

Nice establishment, well organized. The exhibitions were "weird" in a good way, really entertaining.

An amazing gallery, my favourite in Hamburg. It looks so good, that I caught myself on a thought, that the interior was more interesting for me than the exposition. It's art in the art. It's possible to buy one full ticket for two different expositions. I was surprised, that the ticket works 4 weeks. Both buildings have a small cafeteria, but the one in the Photo museum looks like a restaurant. If you are walking with backpacks or prefer to use a garderobe - you will need 1 euro for locker.

Great pieces of modern art on display. For 15 euros you can view this exhibition and photography right next to it. There are short films on display as well. Very thought provoking and beautiful. Modern contemporary art is an acquired taste but if you enjoy it please do give this place a visit when you are in Hamburg.

Very nice gallery and the price is right. The guy working there was very rude though, and also rude with her coworker. Deichtorhallen Hamburg has emerged as an exhibition center for photography and contemporary art with three pillars of activities, three institutions under the single Deichtorhallen brand. Since 2009, Dirk Luckow has been artistic director of Deichtorhallen Hamburg.

We were here on a free Thursday and it was nice. However, mostly exhibitions are a bit weird 😐 the only exhibition I liked so far was about the space last year.

Large, open, brightly-lit and beautiful hall hosting photography exhibitions. I enjoyed how the exhibits varied in style and were interestingly laid out. I would definitely return again once the refurbishment of the other exhibition spaces are completed.

A wonderful place to watch modern art. We visited the Dix exhibition and although I was a bit disappointed about the reproductions, it was an impressive setup with wonderful art. It was nice and warm inside and we had an inspirational start of the day.

The Otto Dix exhibition was incredible and very well curated.. I liked the essays from the book as well.

Exhibitions of modern art and photography, worth visiting if you're in Hamburg, they also have a cafe where you can dine in. I recommend using Hamburger Meile program to get discounts for 5 main museums in Hamburg.

I liked the different collections from different artists around the world here. Of course you can not like all of them, but certainly you can find some interesting collections here.

I went several times. I liked all the exhibitions and also performances during the heritages days. I don't recommend for kids some photography could be inappropriate depending on the exhibition.

Pellegrin exhibition was very nice but the explanations were not written on the wall but all gathered in the brochure which was not even following the order of the exhibition, was for me enough to hinder the concentration. But I like this place

They are having problems with the reservations. The photography museum took our tickets but didn‘t let us enter because there were too many people in the Museum. They said we didn‘t have a reservation but didn‘t give us a time to come back. I paid for the museum so I’m not sure why I have to forfeit a ticket I paid for. I should have at least gotten my money back. Perhaps this is a Corona related issue, but I really don‘t know. Hate that I wasted the money for two tickets but never got to see the museum.

Not really impressed by the exhibitions and not worth the money. Maybe it was just when we visited but nearly all the artwork was photography which is personally not my favourite. Nice building and cool to see it repurposed.

The hall which is centered around photos is a great place to be taken to a different scenario/area. High quality content

Perfect collection. I can just say as a contemporary art lover tourist in Hamburg if u are staying one night in town this is the place you should visit 🤩

A beautiful space for art and photography. The old market hall is a wonderful use of space. Walkable distance from hamburg central station. I would recommend it for anyone that is into contemporary art and photography. Note they hold different exhibitions throughout the year rather than having a 'resident' gallery

The Deichtorhallen museum always caters for great photography exhibitions. The location itself provides for an excellent atmosphere and the exhibitors are usually well selected. I’ve been there numerous times and always enjoyed the visits. Most of the times the exhibitions are a bit thought provoking.
