Very
disappointing.
Plus:
Nice,
alternative
atmosphere
and
calm
audience.
Unconditionally
friendly
and
attentive
staff.
BUT:
ORGANIC
“restaurant”?
Okay,
there
are
lots
of
vegan
options.
But
the
food
we
ordered
was
terribly
bad.
The
matjes
herring
fillets
were
full
of
bones
and
almost
impossible
to
eat
-
my
friend
had
asked
beforehand
whether
they
were
bone-free.
The
fried
potatoes
that
came
with
it
were
pale,
greasy
and
still
hard.
There
were
large
amounts
of
canned
corn
perched
on
top
of
my
large
salad.
The
asparagus
cream
soup
was
out
of
the
bag,
without
asparagus
and
tasted
of
nothing.
In
addition
to
just
two
ambitious
dishes
on
the
daily
menu
(sea
bream
and
leg
of
lamb),
the
menu
only
offers
a
small
selection
of
classic
pub
food:
Maultaschen,
cheese
spaetzle,
schnitzel,
fried
potatoes,
omelette,
Saitan
schnitzel,
salad
with
Saitan
cubes
and
mushrooms.
That's
essentially
it.
With
this
quality
and
selection,
you
really
can't
call
Schanzenstern
a
restaurant.
Two
stars
for
the
appealing
ambience,
the
organic
standards
and
the
friendly
staff.
Maybe
the
real
chef
was
on
vacation.
Otherwise,
just
have
a
drink
here
-
it's
a
shame,
the
expectations
that
were
raised
were
disappointed.
