Small museum, but very nicely done, with an easy to follow chronology of the war showing maps, uniforms, weapons and other interesting items. There is a short video which gives good context. Well worth a visit, especially given its location as one of the major areas of threat from which an invasion of Britain could have taken place from occupied Europe during the war.

Well worth a visit. Uniforms well displayed from all forces including a very insightful film into the D-Day landings.

One of the best WW2 private museum i've ever seen. Great collection, i'm impressed.

Very interesting collection, well laid out and many aspects of ww2 life covered. Lots of cool uniforms which were extremely well researched - and very historically accurate - according to my renactor nerd son (this was not always the case at some other museums we have visited). They also sell some collectables, outfits and replicas, local souvenirs and some great history books including for kids. Graphic novels of important ww2 events in several languages, for example, which I would have loved as a teenager. Mr photos don't do it justice as there were a lot more scenes with wax work figures and I haven't a photo of any weapons this time either.

Great little museum with diverse collection of memorabilia. Wasn't expecting too much, but ended up enjoying the visit and would recommend going. It is also good value.

I really enjoyed my visit, and will go back again. A good documentary of the times leading up to the D day landings and liberation of France, with English sub-titles. Very creative and historically accurate displays of differing battle environments, uniforms and equipment.

An interesting way to tell the story of WW2 through uniforms and weapons

As many other reviews have said, a quirky little place worth a visit. It has little new to offer it’s genre (read to the end) in terms of display style and interpretation but what it does, it does well. Simple display cabinets of artefacts and uniforms, simple narrative and facts with a logical chronology. It has lots of uniforms and artefacts I’ve never seen before though, and an interesting film towards the end in an old cinema. As mentioned, inexpensive and worth an hour of your time.

It's not a large museum but there's lots of interesting stuff in here and a number of uniforms you don't usually see. I've reviewed it in more detail on mechtraveller

Looks small from the outside, loads of interesting stuff inside, more about the people and soldiers than tanks and guns, lots of which I didn't know before.
