This
year,
2022,
Veterans
Park
celebrates
its
35th
anniversary;
it
was
inaugurated
in
1977
to
honor
the
war
veterans
of
Hamilton
Township.
With
its
vast
area
featuring
walking
paths,
hiking
trails,
exercise
pit-stops
(various
fitness
instructions
displayed
at
each
of
the
stops),
bicycle
lanes,
gazebos,
children
playground,
forestall
and
picnic
areas,
as
well
as
the
picturesque
and
serene
Robert
G.
Martin's
lake
with
its
geese
and
ducks,
among
other
attractions,
Veterans
Park
is
accessed
through
its
4
entraces,
the
West
(on
Whitehorse-Hamilton
Square
Rd),
North
(on
Klockner
Rd),
East
(on
Yardville-Hamilton
Square
Rd),
and
South
(on
Kuser
Rd).
Various
military
monuments
and
obelisks
commemorating
the
US
war
veterans
are
installed
at
park's
respective
entrances.
The
park
is
dog
friendly.
However,
we
(as
the
proud
owners
of
5
dogs)
were
dismayed
to
see
the
lack
of
consideration
on
the
part
of
many
of
a
dog
owner;
the
walking
paths
are
often
covered
with
uncurbed
excrements
-
attention
is
required
not
to
step
into
one.
The
park
is
doing
a
great
job
through
its
bird
and
wildlife
preservation
efforts.
Bat
boxes
are
installed
throughout
the
park.
Very
good
signage
helps
visitors
to
navigate
easily.
Veterans
Park
offers
ample
parking
at
each
of
its
entrances.
