If you’re a fan of flavour, you won’t be a fan of Tally Ho. Walking in there, it was silent and empty. And for good reason. The beef sandwich tasted like canned gravy. I think my cat would enjoy it though. When I expected a savoury roast beef sandwich, I was met with nothing of the sort. The bun was a bit soggy but that was inevitable considering that it was wrapped in foil to go. Fries? Unsalted but it was perfectly crisp. Service was not memorable.

Family members love the roast beef sandwiches but I personally find them bland with no flavour. The fries are perfectly cooked but no salt? Gravy was very thick and was ok. The cheeseburger was good with assorted toppings. The staff was very friendly and helpful but the restaurant needs some tlc and a good cleaning, as the tables were dirty and garbages full. All prices were reasonable for the amount and quality of food you receive.

The restaurant is definitely old and could use some love as it looks worn down but the sandwiches were delicious. The roast beef had so much flavour and not sloppy at all. The chicken sandwich was perfectly fried and juicy. The gravy is a must! Make sure u order some with the fries. Definitely a must try if you are in the mood for some comfort food. Super friendly staff and large parking

Been going here since I was a kid. It’s still exactly the same. Best roast beef sandwich around. The gravy is like no other. Highly recommend for a fast filling delicious meal

What is there to say? Simple food for fair pricing. A dirty roast beef sandwich for $6.95. You don’t feel good about yourself for eating it but it hits the spot. Not something you want to indulge often but once in a while.

Wow! I must say that this place is great! I had a roast beef sandwich. It was so tasty I had to get another one. The beef and gravy was hot and delicious. The service was fast and the atmosphere is old school but very clean. I will definitely be back!!

So nostalgic, that old school diners, drive ins and dives feeling. Just like it used to be.. As it always was. As it should be. So delicious, absolutely a Hamilton staple

Spent a pretty penny here during my Mac days. Had the chance to come back and loved that not a thing had changed. I've never come close to finding a place that does a beef/gravy sandwich like Tally Ho's. Simple, exclusively processed ingredients, and amazing when you're in the mood for a meal like this.

Made a trip out to Tally Ho last week from Oakville with a brother who lives in the Hammer. Wow! Amazing roast beef on a bun piled high with lots of delicious gravy, onion rings were excellent as well. Will definitely return again and soon. Love the old school places like this, like going back in time.

I wont go back 👎🏻. This place was recommended as a good local hidden gem. Milkshake machines not working, beef was dry and gravy blaaa. Poutine was just shredded cheese and same bland gravy. It was kinda cheap so thats a plus but I will never go back. You can keep this one to yourself Hamilton! Go somewhere else.

Came here for lunch with my family. Friendly staff. When we ordered we were informed thay they only had one hotdog left, which turned out not to be an issue as they are quite big and my daughters each ate half. Their sandwich was super tasty and their sauce/gravy is amazing. I would love if they sold it in jars or something like that. The place was really clean and the other customers all looked happy/satisfied. I recommend this place and will come back again!

Food is so delicious, hot and fresh and it melts in your mouth. Clean restaurant and very friendly staff make this a great place to dine out! I will definitely eat here again!

Super cute place! Their roast beef sandwich was incredible; it was my first time going and I already can't wait to try more items. They are also open until 2am which is great for late night studying, however I didn't ask if they had wifi or not.

My parents went here when they were dating. Was a "treat" for me and my brother when we were little. Now as an adult, i bring my son and everyone i know here ! Best roast beef sandwiches everrrrr, hands down !

The food is amazing..one of my favorites!! I have been visiting this establishment for well over 20 years and I knew the original owner Gus well. When he was alive and still running the place he gave me and my spouse a pot of gravy one year for our family Christmas dinner. Unfortunately now the staff turn over is crazy and you never really see the same person twice. It use to be like walking into the bar Cheers but it's not the same anymore. They NEVER have the ingredients for milkshakes and they got chincy on the coleslaw which never would have happened under Gus's ownership. They need to open a franchise on the mountain as I believe it would do extremely well which I also know Gus was thinking of doing. Hope they seriously consider this in the future

Women's washroom out of order with no sign on door just door locked with light on inside! Stood outside it for a good 15 mins and then my friend walked into the restaurant to ask if there was a key needed or something. The clerk replied that it was out of order and to just use the men's. We asked why there wasn't a sign on the door and she said that they had been really busy and didn't put one up. Funny thing, there was only one person in the restaurant waiting for their food for the whole 15 mins before! It doesn't take that long to throw the sign up on the door! Not impressed 😕

Not quite sure how they've attained such high ratings for ok food. I didn't hate my meal but it certainly won't be first choice should I be in the area again. I expected much more with so many raving about the food.

Excellent roast beef sandwiches. Gravy was very good too. Their onion rings don’t disappoint. The beef melts in your mouth and the steamed buns are very fresh.

Opinions about the appearance of this institution are beside the point. The gravy will change your life. Especially when served with a double beef basket. Ask for extra coleslaw if you want it next level. Gus was the greatest when he was around (RIP). He was a generous and kind man. Do yourself a favour and give it a go.

The absolutely BEST fast food place around!! My family has been coming here pretty much from when it opened back in the 70’s. So many memories come to me..especially my dad buying a bunch of beef sandwiches so we can take them up north skiing😊 Be ready to get addicted once you try their beef!

Well I've found heaven! The food was so good that it was making me hungrier and hungrier and I wanted to spend all day here. + Brought the family out 5 days later. (And we live in Mississauga)

I went to Mac University in the early 70’s. Tally Ho was our go to eatery, after a night at the Campus Pubs. Never expected it to still be going. Fantastic Roast Beef sandwich. If memories serve me, there was also a Tally Ho in Vancouver. Going to have to drive from my hometown Uxbridge, and get a couple of sandwiches. Had so many back then, that I can still taste them.
