A huge village of local and traditional northern Thai wood carving and handicrafts items. Very good for sightseeing even if you don’t plan to buy anything.

Visited this very interesting place today. We were looking for some big wood carvings and we’re not disappointed. Pros - each shop sells different stuff so there is a lot of variety. We could bargain the price a bit for the some small things. They don’t sell the usual souvenir stuff that you can get in the night market. There are a few shipping company shops in case you want to send the big stuff you bought back home. Cons - many shops were still closed, which was a shame. Still enough to look around. Could not see proper toilets or food stalls. These could be improved in this to encourage tourists to come. It’s a beautiful place and hope it can thrive and open soon.

Wonderful place for handcrafts lovers. Alot of wood craft, textiles, souvenirs around. Prices can be bargain. Varieties of small cafes are also hidden inside the village as well. Guests usually spend time here 2-3 hours. Antiques lovers should be enjoying this trip.

Parking is terrible despite there being zero customers.. Instead of a general parking for all customers coming into the village, each shop has it's own "customer only" sign in front. We ended up leaving because we could not find a place to park. I suggest getting rid of the sign so they can easily park and walk around and browse each shop at customers' own leisure

Visit heaps of stalls and shoos selling hand carved statues and an array of craft goods. Great place to visit and be amazed by the skill and beauty in the wood carvings.

Very unique and larger pieces here, with shipping options available. We found some actual wood working and finishing of projects here. Highlight was definitely the Taksin wood shop in zone 2. Beautiful elephant carvings and he definitely went above and beyond for us after our purchase. There is no public transportation there at this time that we could find. If you take the taxi pay them to stay and wait for you to return to Chiang Mai:).
