This zoo was such a disappointment. If you expect a serious conservational effort and educational experience, this is not the place for you. They have a whole section dedicated to safari animals, and either they were hiding from the cold so you didn't see them at all, or they were huddled together shivering. It was a really sad sight; much pity for the animals. Definitely don't visit during winter. Even in summer I'd think twice.. Fortunately the staff were kind enough to issue a refund.

The highlight of it is lion’s family with 3 cubs (born 20.02.2023). They were so cute playing with each other, their mom and even serious father. Unfortunately the glass you are watching through is scratched and opposite sun made it even worse to look and make pictures, but they were so close, just few meters away. Amazing experience! I liked thematically made zones, never seen something like that in other zoo’s. They have feeding hours for animals so you could watch and they tell you some facts about animals but unfortunately only in German. All signs and information are in German too. People say the price 27 euro is expensive but I think it’s totally worth it and you can actually have much cheaper price (15 euro) if you book few weeks in advance through internet. Must see in Hannover!

I was disappointed as I felt I didn’t get my money’s worth. Most animals were either too far or in hiding. Cafes were closed and the boat ride was under maintenance. The zoo isn’t a handicapped friendly place at least for me personally. All animal descriptions & information was in German so as a non native speaker it wasn’t fun to google translate info about animals I wanted to know more info about.

The place is nice, infrastructure for kids is interesting. The enclosures could be cleaner, and way, way bigger. The elephants are especially saddening, with one of them displaying stereotypical behavior.

This is one absolute favourite zoos in the world. The themed areas are somewhat weird but make your experience educational and fun. Food is slightly overpriced but good. Feeding times are always complete with a little show and plenty of new information about the animals and their habitats. So book a ticket in advance to avoid the queues.

Really memorable and exciting. Equally enjoyable for all age groups right from 5 to 70. The white boar and underwater collection are worth seeing - one to one. Twitting birds of various colours is added feature. Tiger with their cubs engrosses the public for a long time. Entry is slightly over priced, but for one time visit is fine.

Personally, I felt that some of the animals don't really have enough space to move around (this is subjective of coz, I am no expert to know or have the background to know how much space an animal may need). But, from my view some of these animals look sad due to the restricted space. But from an animal theme park point of view for children, it is amazing. My child loves the boat ride. Thus, it comes to the point where I find the ticket is extremely expensive (especially annual ticket). Much more than zoos from much bigger city such as Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, Erfurt, Frankfurt.... Etc... Like a lot more expensive. Hence, I expected more from the Erlebnis zoo. Another point is the toilet facilities -- in some area such as the public toilet at Yukon town within the zoo perhaps need an upgrade. It's old and smelly.
