Very beautiful. Stunning. The museum has a small photography collection, it's nice, old photos from around the planet. Nice to see big diversity in one place. However, the garden is the prime attraction here. Super beautiful Japanese style garden and traditional Japanese houses. Very peaceful and beautiful to walk around. There is a small bamboo area and another area as if its a wild forest. All that near a metro station in Paris. I highly recommend this place.

The contents of the museum within were not the highlight of the visit for us - they mostly contain photography from a long-ranging around the world project that Albert Kahn sponsored, to be honest I think the exhibits could use some editing down and deeper explanation. But the gardens - wow! Have you ever seen a mini-forest that looks like a theater set because it’s so carefully swept and maintained? Not a leaf out of place but somehow a relaxed beauty nevertheless. There are various Japanese gardens, which I wish there was more explanation about (extremely enjoyable without it but I know there is a lot of history and tradition behind them which I would have love to learn about), all gorgeous and immaculately kept.

A nice surprise a few metro stops away from Paris center. Museum content was quite light (one could have liked some more information about Albert-Kahn himself or why the garden is designed as it is). We bought our tickets on site on a Saturday afternoon. As such, the garden and the building (by Kengo Kuma!) are the highlights of my visit. Absolutely stunning. Little gem, as many prople don’t even know about this place.

Great museum but even better garden! The exposition isn’t quite big but the garden is stunning : the English part, the Japanese part or the rosary are all so well preserved and breathtaking, especially in the summer. The only inconvenient I found was the location. It’s quite far from Paris and if too far from where you’re staying it might not be worth it to go all over Boulogne just for this museum. Otherwise, if you’re going to the vois de Boulogne anyway, do check the Albert Kahn foundation !

I really enjoyed the visit. The museum is quite small but its garden is very charming et worth to see! Ideally visit on spring, summer or autumn. Spoiler: they have a Photo Booth (not print but it will send yours photos to your mail) on the 2nd floor (premier étage en français 🫢)

The photo museum gives a glimpse of how culture was captured back then and its gardens offers a fantastic and surreal feeling of how gardens are like from different countries. Exquisite and detailed in its execution. Recommended to go with loved ones or kids.

The garden has just been reopened to the public after a period of renovation. The first impression when entering this garden is like coming to another world. There is a Japanese garden, French garden and English garden on the museum. Especially Japanese garden with sophisticated design, zen garden, lake with koi fish. Each corner of the garden is arranged according to the meaning of life. Wooden bridges are the highlight of this garden.

I went for the contemporary architecture of Kengo Kuma which was restrained, modest and perfectly suited for this little museum of 18000 images, collected circa 1912 to “document the world.’ The garden, founded by Kahn himself, was the real treat. Ten stars. A little beautiful piece of Japan, a few French forests. Lush and impeccable, one wants to get lost and never leave. Alas Alice, time to grow up.

Really nice, even with the place half-closed, we had a wonderful time. All the different gardens are astonishing, very different from my usual garden visits. It's also really underpriced, a excellent deal.

The 4 hectares of gardens at the Albert Kahn Museum in Boulogne-Billancourt to the west of Paris are an extension of their creator, reflecting the diversity of cultures around the world. A banker by trade, Albert Kahn was above all a man of peace and philanthropist whose constant preoccupation was bringing people together and raising awareness of other ways of life. These gardens, a testament to plant-based art, invite you on a journey, taking you from west to east in just a few steps. The English gardens, French formal gardens and the rose garden are laid out as "garden scenes" typical of the 19th century. The Japanese garden consists of two lodges straight from the Land of the Rising Sun. Colour also plays an important role in these spaces, in the three "ornamental woods", where the blue of the cedars sits alongside the pink of the rhododendrons, and the white of the birch trunks contrasts with the green of the silver fir. The refurbished gardens are open to the public. Although the original gardens have been preserved, a new experience is on offer once night falls with 450 spotlights illuminating the paths. In 2021, you will be able to admire the whole site when the museum reopens its doors to the public.

I've been twice to the Albert-Kahn Museum and Garden. The garden is beautiful - it's amazing to see such quite place in the middle of the city. The plants have been there for a long time and the nature is both... well trimmed and organised, while remaining natural. It's very picturesque and a great place to find inspiration for drawing/painting or just resting in a peaceful place.

Beautiful garden. There's a field and a little stream, a Japanese garden section (the waterfall area is currently off for maintenance) with 2 beautiful wooden bridges and gorgeous cherry trees, a formal landscaped garden area (there's an indoor part that is closed right now for maintenance as well), and a forest area, as well. I would say about half of the garden is NOT easily accessible (either in a wheelchair or a stroller), but people who do babywearing (either in a wrap type or a hiking chair type) should be fine. There are a few areas where you can climb, but you can avoid those easily if you want to. Entry is currently 3€, normally 4€ (when they aren't doing maintenance and things aren't closed down), or you can get an annual pass for 25€, which gets you all the entries you want, plus 1 companion adult for every entry free. Kids under 18 are free as well. There is no playground or play structure. It's not that kind of park - just a nice, quiet, peaceful area to be in nature (well, man-made, organized nature) - but it is definitely beautiful and worth seeing.

Lots of restaurants are near by and Metro line 10 and bus services 42 number is available. Tickets for age more than 26 is 8 Euros which is on the higher side. Rest it's an amazing park .

Astonishing experience! A must do in Paris especially on those really hot days. Magnificent gardens indicative of different types egJapanese, French, English etc with attention to detail, an absolute delight to the visitor. It transfers you to the environment pictured. Need to mention the amazing info you can get about the different cultures taken from the trip experiences of Alber Kahn and the valuable info on technology and cultural history of local tribes around the world presented. A holistic experience indeed!

Magnificent garden and a very interesting museum, wish I had more time to explore the exhibition - I couldn't because they didn't let me in with a small carry on, neither they accept it on reception - I had to leave it with another person who was patiently waiting outside.

Beautifully rebuilt exposition space with a wonderful collection of photographs and films. The stunning gardens juxtaposition france, japan and English styles with the space ship like architecture of the new building. We were delighted to find that when we visited with two little girls 4 and 5 and they both were entertained by the exposition and loved exploring the gardens. Hats off to the staff to who were friendly and ran a superbly well organised welcome. We were impressed with the lockers and the fact they had special locks for buggies and kids scooters. They even had a little activity books for the little ones. Definitely a place we recommend to visiters for a slice of the life of this privaliged Boulognenais.

I think what Albert Khan did for the world is worth knowing by more people. The exhibition seems to be less known in Paris although this really a worth to go place. This architecture of its building and the garden is influenced by Japanese style. Exhibition itself shows the immense number of sociological and natural images from around thr world. This was beautiful but processable at the same time. It is difficult to display such a tremendous and humble humanity of this guys. The digital exhibition part is a good try. True the temporal exhibition over emphasize something that is not that much relevant from the life of this guy.
