(Translated by Google) Anyone who has ever been to Washington smiles when they see this Capitol. We were there in December 2018 and the construction work was still ongoing. The weather in Cuba was also very changeable and the sun was always shining or it was pouring rain. (Original) Wer schon mal in Washington war schmunzelt wenn er dieses Kapitol sieht. Taking the ferry over, make sure you have small CUP otherwise it will be a PAIN to try and get change it’s 20CUP per person. Ferry to Casablanca will take around 20 min! The walk up to the statue is very easy just make sure you have some water (there are some stalls on the side if you need to grab some)

It is not as large as the Christ Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, but it is worth the visit , as you can see the whole old city of Havana from the top of this hill. To get there use the ferry boat ( it is 4 Cuban pesos per person , but as a tourist they will try yo make you 200 Cuban pesos . 270 cup = 1 Euro). Be warned about the many unofficial changes going on in this country. Never change your money at the airport . It is 128 Cup for 1 Euro instead the real 270 . As inflation is high here. 15 minutos for the ferry crossing .

Beautiful views of the Old City from the highest point in Havana. The statue of Christ is carved from 67 individual blocks of Carrera marble from Italy. The Pope blessed each piece individually. It was damaged by a lightning strike during a recent hurricane and you will notice when you visit a large lightning rod near the statue to prevent future damage. Certainly one of the must see places in Havana!

(Translated by Google) A beautiful place as a landscape park but as a garden with animals is in my opinion nothing interesting. In addition to hundreds of crocodiles, I saw only one "pool" with turtles. There is also one restaurant and several souvenir shops. The entrance to the park cost 10CUC, in my opinion it is not worth it. But next to the park there is a marina and there, for 12CUC, you can cross a motorboat to the islet, an open-air museum, where you can see how the cobras were once living. It is worth paying for this trip. I would recommend. Polecam.

....Wow! Wow! what an impressive magnificent land-mark! Although at the time of our visit the building was under reconstruction and surrounded by scaffolding but still one could observe the beau-tii of this awesome master-piece! Magnificent-lii designed for sure it has earn its own distinction as been one of the prestigious Governmental Buildings in the world! Its location is superb as its to be found in one of the better areas of Havana, very clean and the gardens around this area are well cared for and maintained! How nice it would have been to see the inside, for we have seen a few Parliamentary Institutes in our world traveling escapades! Also its one of the few land-marks that one is able to see from many different spots while walking about the streets of old Havana and the old square! This is a MUST SEE when in Havana, Cuba...................

This majestic building, located in Centro Habana, is similar to the Capitol in Washington D.C, but one meter higher, one meter wider, one meter longer and much richer in detail. The National Capitol was built with white Chaplain limestone and granite. Its elegant 62-meter stone dome is topped with a replica of the bronze statue of the 16th-century sculptor Giambologna, and stands out on the city's skyline. On the top floor, right in the center below the dome, it houses a brand new 25 karat diamond. As a curiosity, he points out km 0 of Cuba.

One of the most beautiful places that I visited in Havana with an excellent view of old Havana. To reach there we used governmental ferry service. It supposed to be $2 but as I paid pesos it costs us 40 pesos ($0.2) which was great. They will search you and your baggage before allowing you to enter the terminal. When we arrived there, there was a walk distance to the Christ of Havana. But it was all uphill and we decided to use bike service. We hired a bike for 500 pesos ($2-$3) but after 1-2 minutes I released the guy can not handle two of us in uphill, so I started to push the bike for a while and then I ride the bike and he pushed that until we arrive there. I just did rest for 5-10 minutes after that physical workout (🙈) Then there was a drink shop and I got a delicious local drink and then we visited the picturesque sculpture and its view to the havana. For return, apparently there was a tunnel that cars can pass but as they were charging too much we walked back and used the ferry service again.

Nice place to take a great view of the Habana, Habana Vieja and more parts of the city. We travel in taxi part of scam tour, but up there you can buy a drink. I bough a beer for 150 pesos I think the best price during my trip. I went there in the middle of the day, a better idea will be go there very early or at sunset.

Christianity came to Cuba on October 28th, 1492 C.E. Still has strong roots there. Christ of Havana was created by famous Cuban sculptor Jilma Madera. He used white Carrara marble. Located on La Cabaña hill. The height is 65,62 ft. Sculpture weight is 3,53 ton US (approx.). Open for public on Christmas Eve, December 24th, 1958. The monument is visible from every part of Havana. Otherwise, the pedestal of the monument is a good vantage on Havana. I think it's not a bad idea for a day trip: Christ of Havana - La Cabaña de Che Guevara - Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña - Castillo De Los Tres Reyes Del Morro. It was worth spending one day learning about some of Cuba's history. I recommend. I did so in February 2018.

There are also other animals such as the jutia, the jicotea, the manjuarí and the iguana, all endemic to the Caribbean or nearby. It has souvenir shops and restaurant and bar. Opens at 10am Tuesday to Sunday. Two days a week it closes at 12 noon and the other 4 it closes at 1-2 for lunch and then at 5pm I believe. 10 CUK per person entry. You need to buy tickets at the bottom of the stairs, on the left hand side, first. The south side of the building is closed to tourists but the north side and downstairs is open. A security guard will go with you & you have an audio guide in either English or Spanish included in the price. They are still renovating so parts are closed, like the dome and the solid gold Crest statue, etc. But still worth the entry fee and the time to visit.

Amidst a technicolor cluster of vintage automobiles and a constant stream of pedestrian that make up the chaotic hustle of Havana's city center, sits El Capitolio. Equal parts inspiring and imposing in its palatial opulence, it is an iconic part of Havana's skyline. The Capitol Building's towering front doors are copper plated with images of Cuban history. While many remain under construction, the areas that are available provide visitors with resplendent grandiose experience.

This Christ statute is located across the Habana harbour overlooking the Malecon and views of historic Habana (the Vieja area). It is also adjacent to the fortress that also overlooks the Habana harbour. As a tourist, there are two ways to get there: by bus through a tunnel under the harbour (this is not very interesting); or catch a ferry along the Malecon near the Rum Museum for the Casa Blanca destination across the harbour. This ferry ride is about 20 minutes and gives good view along the harbour. On arrival walk on the only road up the hill until you see the Christ statute. The fortress is adjacent and nearby. The ferry cost was CUC0.50 return per person June 2019. Give yourself 1/2 to 3/4 day to see these sights walking leisurely. There is a drink stop half way up the road if it is a hot day and you didn't bring water.

The most arresting quality is the view over Havana and its bay this offers you. There's a 10 minute stroll or a 5 walk around the statue. At the foot of Christ, there's an ideal spot to take a photo/selfie as it narrows to a fine point. There's little to do in terms of other activities except there will be someone nearby selling drinks and small bits of food.
