A great place to run with your dog and admire the beautiful sunrises

These rolling hills with the view on a lake is probably everything there is to hate about Dutch landscape design. While the green of the hills contrast beautifully with the blue of the sky, the view on the lake is magnificent from the top and the setting sun washes the silhouettes of the hills with red when viewed from the lakeside, it is just tearjerkingly artificial. The lake, the hills, the bushes and the shrubs is all made and planted. If one simply shifts their sight from the lake to the other side of the hills it is an industrial area and a wall of windmills. To the right there is a sewage purifying facility that stinks up the whole southern side. And yet, there are not many towns in Holland that can claim they have hills. Forever Haarlem.

Good view.. It is a very beautiful lake. You can see the lake, the city and Haarlem very well from the high hills around it. A little far from the city center but worth it. You can come as a family and participate in lake activities.

Great place to walk the dog and get a coffee on the way back to the car. They serve nice cakes too!
