We had a wonderful stay at Mountbatten Bungalow thanks to Kusum. I would highly recommend this place if you visit Kandy. This place is so calm and relaxing, you can enjoy the incredible view. Food is absolutely delicious and the staff will always try to make your stay unforgettable. As it is only a few kilometers from all the major attractions in Kandy. Rooms are spacious.

A very relaxing to place to stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. A perfect oasis in nature to enjoy spectacular views and completely unwind. The food is good but I would recommend ordering Sri Lankan food which is off menu but for us was the highlight of all of the meals we had here. Of note, if you like to bird watch make sure to bring your binoculars as there were tons of different birds flying throughout the forrest.

Old world charm reigns in this fabulous tea-planter's style Bungalow. Sitting beautifully atop the hills of Kandy (elevation c. 800m) this place is all about colonial style elegance. Polished surfaces, fragrant gardens, a Victorian style fireplace, spacious rooms with impressive furniture & luxurious baths collectively characterise an older world ambience. You can breakfast in the garden in proper style. The smartly attired team will see to your every whim, offering first rate service and maintaining this 100 year old Bungalow in tip top condition. The infinity pool has jaw dropping views. The mango tree is set within beautifully manicured lawns ( thanks to Mahendran's indefatigable dedication). Lord Mountbatten, the last British Indian Viceroy stayed here and worked in Peradeniya Gardens which then housed the HQ of the WW2 South and South East Asia Navy.

We visited the Mountatten bungalow twice. Once in 2018 and back in 2022 with our 1 year old baby. The place is really really comfortable, calm and beautiful. If you are looking for a place to spend a relaxing holiday this is a perfect place. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The quality of the service is beyond the expectations. They start the service even before you start the journey. :D Both times we visited, they called us early in the morning. They are very concerned about the visitors and it meant a lot specially at the time we went with the baby.

This place is outstanding. It’s situated on a beautiful hill overlooking a valley and very close to Kandy. The garden is beautiful and well-kept. The personnel are very kind and did everything possible to make our stay memorable. There’s lots of birds in the garden.

Nestled in the picturesque Hantana mountain range in Kandy, Sri Lanka, lies a stunning upcountry resort that is sure to take your breath away. Formerly used by the Mountbatten family in the UK, this colonial bungalow has been beautifully restored and transformed into a luxurious resort that exudes old-world charm and elegance. From the moment you step onto the property, you are transported back in time to the colonial era, with its beautiful architecture and stunning surroundings. The ambiance is so colonial and authentic that it's hard to believe that you're not in the United Kingdom. The room at the resort is spacious, comfortable, and clean, with all the modern amenities that you could possibly need. The decor is tasteful, with a nod to the colonial era. The highlight of the resort is undoubtedly the infinity pool, which offers unparalleled views. In addition to the pool, the resort boasts a beautiful garden with ample space to relax and unwind. Whether you're taking a leisurely stroll or enjoying a picnic under the shade of a tree, you'll feel completely at peace in this serene setting. The food at the resort is delicious, with a range of international and Sri Lankan dishes on offer. Whether you're in the mood for something spicy or something more mild, you're sure to find something to suit your tastes. For those looking for the perfect photo location, the resort offers plenty of opportunities to capture stunning shots. From the colonial architecture to the beautiful gardens and infinity pool, every corner of the resort is a photographer's dream. Last but not least, the staff at the resort are exceptional. Me and my wife stayed in a garden chalet last week. Honestly the experience was a pleasant ,comfortable and a memorable one. We have several 5 star experiences but none can match the hospitality of Mountbatten Bungalow. Mr Chulan, Mr Dinesh and Head Chef Mr Weerasekara were super friendly and really helpful characters. They really did thier best to make our stay such a memorable and a relaxing one. We felt like home and super relaxing due to their next level hospitality. The bungalow has its historical value as well as soothing ambience. It is located on a top of a hill so its infinity pool provides a view of such a scenic mountain range. I really enjoyed the swimming pool cause it was pin drop silent when we were there. Should appreciate the head chef's efforts too, for serving us such eye catching cuisines with a taste of heaven. Rooms are super spacious and well designed to provide the ultimate comfortness. Highly Recommending this place and the staff. We wish you all the success in the future and hope to visit you again 👌👍🧡

Amazing stay, shame it was for only 1 night. We braved the chilly pool in the evening, narrowly avoiding the rain but the views were spectacular! The meal was delicious and decadent. The only thing I could say needed improving was the fact the water pressure in the cabins was very low, it took be about 20-30 minutes to run a bath but the rooms themselves were beautiful.

great place, very attentive staff. i would call the front desk for anything, and within 15s they were knocking on my door with said thing (we were in a chalet 1 minutes walk away from reception). food was good, but the attention was superb

We had the most amazing stay at Mountbatten Bungalow. Stayed for 2 nights and we really enjoyed everything about the property, the old classic decoration, the staff and also the food which was delicious. If you want a place to relax for a few days this is definitely the best choice in Kandy. It’s just fantastic to enjoy the peace and quiet, simply hearing the birds singing and the view from the infinity pool is absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset. We stayed at a bungalow room in the main building and it was super comfortable, with all the amenities we could ask for. Thanks to the team for making our stay so memorable!

Called the property and the person who answered said they only allow foreign bookings. Sri Lankans aren't allowed. I didn't know there are places in Sri Lanka that doesn't allow Sri Lankans. Joke!

Nice place, comfortable rooms. Pool is really nice and the garden is well kept. Pool is very cold but "ඒක වෙනම ආතල් එකක්". The manager is one kind of a person. But he looks after the bungalow really well. For me, only the negative thing was the food. Quality, size and the taste is less. And the price of the rooms are bit expensive. We could get a 50% off but otherwise it's too expensive.

Lovely place in hill country. Very close to Temple of tooth in Kandy. Surrounded by misty mountains. Very calm and quiet place to relax. Also luxurious rooms and cottages. What I most enjoyed is we can pick fruits from garden and eat. Which is a new experience. Staff is really helpful. I love this place and wanted to visit again. They are serving set menu and so buffet which is the only downside. But they serve plenty of food.

Our stay here was unbelievably great! The property is so well looked after and the rooms are very comfortable, clean and stylish. Definitely eat here. We had an incredible curry for breakfast which was probably the best meal of our trip. One of the guys that worked there (sorry I don’t remember his name!) kindly showed us around the neighbouring tea plantation and forest out the back.

I stayed here as well as photographing the very first wedding on site. The grounds are beautiful & very well maintained, the rooms spacious & perfectly furnished to sit to character of the place. The food was great & the staff must helpful. A tranquil hideaway just a short drive from the city. Highly recommend.

We had an extremely nice experience at Mountbattern Bungalow from the moment we started the reservation to the ending of trip. If I say the staff was friendly it would be bit under rated. they were super friendly, Upon the reservation, the manager Dharmapriya tried to meet all our requests without a word, even they cared to double check on the time of our arrival. We had lovely small chit chats with the staff here and there during the stay which gave us more of a warm welcoming family feeling. we had a nice cinnamon infused welcome tea, which was super refreshing after a long journey. Then we were shown to our rooms which was beyond expectations, super clean, well arranged and what a view from the balcony. Food was so great, presentation was first class with a topnotch service from Dinesh-who was our butler for the entire stay. Avo salad was my personal favourite out of all and even the butter was cut in to a design!!!! They were so flexible to arrange our meals in different locations we requested and never hesitated to provide us snacks and tea fulfilling all our annoying requests. Spa service was very professional, relaxing and soothing, and was a real value for money. They attended to all our requests, helped us to find tuk-tuks, spent time on showing us the bungalow. I regret we couldn't stay more but we surely will visit again and spread the word too.

Excellent stay and location, exceptional service from the team especially the personalised attention for the entire duration of our stay from Chulan and Christy. Would highly recommend this theme resort for a nice relaxing family getaway. By the way they make an excellent homegrown tea!

Another finest bungalow experience from Theme Resorts. The place is more than a century old. Bungalow rooms are pretty much spacious. There are some garden chalets, but we always prefer staying inside the bungalow, to get that historic feeling. Food is fine and the staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The pool is blended with the nature, offers a calm and relaxing experience.
