Went here with large (>15) party. Food was decent and the service was friendly although they did forget one person's order completely and got the details wrong on another two orders. Portion sizes were also rather small for the price and, while not bad, the burgers were nothing special either (only a single step or so above McDonalds). Restaurant also used a high about of disposable products: the bags the fries were in, the cardboard cups the sauces were in, and the paper straws (yuck!) that they used for the cocktails were all rather disappointing, especially when it would be so easy to use reusable sauce cups, fry holders, or straws instead. For a dine-in experience where we all paid between 20€ and 30€ this was an unpleasant surprise.

Very vibrant restaurant with great atmosphere. Really massive inside and outside. Friendly staff with fast service. Food is great for price and quality and quality. There is a lot of options and as it’s not focused on a particular cuisine so you may find something. Having said that it maybe possible that you may not find some food upto expectations. The burgers were awesome and so the cocktails. You can sit outside but inside is something that you can consider as it’s really cozy and hip looking decor.

Had dinner with 6 friends here on a Saturday night. We didn’t make reservations but luckily another group didn’t show up so we managed to get a table. Definitely recommend making a reservation. I am rating this place a 3 because of the food. I ordered My Thai, which is essentially Thai curry. You can choose between vegan, chicken or shrimp and I chose chicken. It was a total disappointment...tasted more like creamy chicken. Definitely not tasty nor authentic. My friends ordered burgers which they enjoyed. The mojitos and other cocktails were awesome. The toilets could be a little cleaner. The restaurant is huge with lots of nooks and corners and has a hip, trendy decor. It was packed and is a good place to meet friends. Restaurant should focus on a few amazing dishes versus trying to offer dishes they do not specialize in.

So after a long break, we went to Urban Kitchen again. It was around 10 p.m. Usually, there was always someone from the staff to meet guests and show them to their tables. This time the place was almost empty. We went inside and waited a few minutes. As there were plenty of free tables, we decided to take one, sit and wait. Another 5 minutes went by. Eventually, we got noticed. The waiter, a nervous young man, came up with a genuinely surprised face. He told us that we should have waited at the entrance for check-in. He also said there's a huge sign with big letters "Anmeldung" at the door. (I checked it later - the sign stayed aside behind the entrance curtain, hardly noticeable). Anyway, the young man said, "I have to disinfect the table first!". Right away, another waitress came up and started spraying the disinfector on the table (and as we were sitting - the spray went up right into our faces). That was a day full of hard decisions for me, and I just wanted to take my wife to a nice place to reflect on the day and have a nice drink. For years we knew Urban Kitchen is (was) a nice place to spend an evening. Always super-friendly staff and delicious food. Used to be good, but not anymore. Such a pity, but we won't go there anymore. P.S. And I didn't particularly enjoy Bloody Mary this time. There was something rotten about it.

Urban kitchen is definitely my favourite place in Heidelberg and I come here often. Most of the time the staff is great, friendly and attentive, sometimes too busy to give me a bill for 20mins... This time, I had a delicious german burger, but the detox cucumber mint drink was disappointing... very much so. One slice of cucumber, doesn't make a cut to name the drink that way. I hope for a better recipe next time 😉

I went today for the first time and I did not have a pleasant experience. In my opinion it has a poor service. There is nothing good about the restaurant in that view. I know it was a busy time, but there were also a few girls serving, so they have no excuse to make us wait for more than 15 minutes for a coke and a lemonade. I won't be back. Olso no one told us there was a waiting time for the food. If they had told us we was not staying. The last thing I was upset about was that I also ordered a salad with the main course and it came almost at the end when I was finishing eating. Good. The restaurant has one or two good qualities. The food was delicious, which is why I gave it 5 stars. I have no interest in visiting again though.

A great experience dining at Urban Kitchen. Although I visited Heidelberg several times it is the first time I dine in here. The restaurant itself is huge with a lot of seating however it can be quite full so make sure to book if you are a big group. The ambience food and service all were excellent. Normally you have gaps in one or the other but I was thoroughly impressed with the place. It is for sure a must visit location and I would say for the place it is not expensive and priced reasonably.

The place is very inviting. You can dine inside or al fresco. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is very comfortable and the blueberry crumble tastes really good.

This was our 2nd time eating here in the past year while visiting Heidelberg and they have accommodated our very large party (20ish people) both times in the back room inside. The food has been excellent on both visits - especially the burgers!! Service has also been wonderful! My only complaint would be that the air circulation is poor in that back room, so fans our better A/C would be great. Will return on our next visit!

Nice informal atmosphere, with pleasant service and good price food ratio. Would like to go there another time, when in the area. The ‘laugen’ bread bun accompanied with the burger was a highlight for me.

Beautiful place, the brunch is one of the best I have tried, the service was amazing and it's not even expensive, fair price for the amazing food.

The food was good but not outstanding. I had a burger with french fries. If you enjoy burger or pizza or a drink with your friends this place is certainly a good choice. Many open fires were a great asset and resulted in a cozy but still modern atmosphere

Best vegan burger that I hate in years ! They do happy hour where you get significantly reduced prices for cocktails. Very various menu. Waiters friendly and easygoing. I don’t give 5 stars because the bathroom could have been cleaner and they do not accept reservations in the outdoor area. For the rest top: maybe my favorite restaurant in Heidelberg.

The menu is a very strange mix of American fast food and Asian. But everything was very good. The sweet potato fries (Süsskartoffel) were especially good. But just importantly our server was excellent. We were a table of 4 languages and she worked with us and kept us all very happy

The food was excellent and special, at least what I ordered! (The German Burger (breadless) and Süßkartoffelpommes) Waiters was super friendly and helpful! Also the environment inside and outside is very nice to enjoy your meal. For sure I suggest this place!

Great service. Great food. Great cocktails. & Great Bathrooms! Dinner here is always great, but we finally made it for brunch and that was equally as fantastic. Thanks for hosting our large BJJ Globetrotter groups each summer!

Staff is very attentive and is English friendly. Food menu is typical burger and pizza fare. Cocktail happy hour is very solid and the cocktails themselves got rave reviews from the girls. I would happily go again.

After a walk through Heidelberg on Saturday we decided to have dinner in the urban kitchen. We have been seated very fast and at a nice and quiet table. While the first experience was very positive we then waited quite long until our orders were taken. After that we needed to wait even longer for the food, drinks came fast. It maybe the case that since we were hungry the longer waiting time felt heavier than it was but in that moment it was not cool. The dishes were tasty though and decently big. So in short, good location, decent food, fair price but too long waiting.

Very tasty burger, perfect service, 5 stars. Their kitchen closes at 9pm on sunday, afterwards you can still have drinks.

The location is roomy and nicely renovated, especially the innermost room with high ceiling and plenty of light. Staff was friendly and service fast, alas, the food was mediocre at best --less than homemade quality. My salmon bowl was a loveless pile of coarsely chopped carrots and cucumbers (seriously, not even a mandoline in the kitchen?), Salmon, rice and generic soy sauce. The summer rolls were similar: a couple of ingredients put together with zero care for quality or flavor, let alone imaginative cooking. They do have a wide selection of cocktails, so: good place for drinks or a coffee, not for food.

Absolutely massive restaurant on the inside with very hip urban interior, true to its name. Diverse rooms with different designs and interesting sink structure by the bathroom. The food is pretty good. Location is convenient right outside of the corpse museum.
