It's a great forest for hikes, lots of different plants and mushrooms to see. There are also several praying spots scattered around the forest and even it's oldest landmark, La Croix Pucelle, that dates back to 1456. It's isolated enough that you can hear little to no car noises once you're deep into the forest. We couldn't find any clearings to or nice areas to have a picnic. You may find some trash lying around but that's the people's fault, not the forest.

It's a very nice forest & very well looked after. You can walk around, cycle or run on well manage paths. You can spot red squirel, roe deers & lots of birds. It the spring it is full of bluebells & in the autumn different colours & some nice mushrooms

Fabulous and extensive ancient forest with many quality exercise facilities nearby (sports and swimming mainly). The forest is criss-crossed with paths of various sizes with many hidden open spaces for picnicking or rest. Despite its proximity to the residential suburbs of Paris and the number of people making use of the forest, it is sufficiently large, that one can always find a quiet spot. There is plenty of wildlife to see too.

A great place to recharge, but no drinkable water fountains, and its a little bit sad that you can find trash around the pond in the north of the forest. Other that that, it s an amazing place.

The forest here is a great place for a walk or a run. They have pretty long straight paths but never too long. There are enough variations to made in your routes so you make it interesting for yourself for multiple days. It's a quiet and dense forest with enough light to make it okay for an evening walk.

  • 4/5 marco h. 4 years ago on Google
I like running there during my weekend workout. There are many paths and you can always change your track a little so you don't get bored. Be careful as some paths can lead nowhere or end up muddy.

(Translated by Google) It is not the forest of st germain en laye but the forest of st germain itself. In laye it is the city. Very varied despite the great damage caused by the lothar storm which notably devastated a magnificent beech grove. Superb terrace with view on the edge. (Original) Ce n'est pas la forêt de st germain en laye mais la foret de st germain tout court. En laye c'est la ville. (Translated by Google) Forest in a state of mass destruction. Unhealthy lumbering. All the very beautiful trees, in particular the oaks, have disappeared from the forest all around the Corra pond. The undergrowth was pounded, furrowed and weakened or even devastated in some places by tracked vehicles. It is shameful ! The cuts really don't look professional too often. The NFB protecting wildlife as he claims at the entrance to the domain ??? NO. At the entrance of spring it is a real nightmare for walkers, animals, plants and trees. Would the NFB be won over by the fever of capital and profitability? What about all this collateral damage? Insupportable !! Insupportable !!
