Last Monday was my last day at Zuyderwende. This was my first admission to a clinic and I am very satisfied with the result. After I realized that I could not get rid of my addiction alone, I started looking for a clinic so that I could get help with this. My journey has not been easy and I was in resistance for a long time, the team knew exactly how to deal with this so that I was still able to find myself. Now after 8 weeks I can confidently start my aftercare and 12-step program, and I have been given the right tools to maintain this. I therefore recommend this clinic to everyone! Yesterday I had my last day treatment after a 10-week journey. I also stayed in the Sober Living House. I came in there 10 weeks ago as a hopeless and lonely person. But I have learned a lot about my feelings and addictive behavior. Also about what an addiction is. I have become a completely different person and I have prospects for the future again. What a confrontation and sadness when you find out that your child is addicted and how grateful I was when he indicated that he needed and needs help. He was able to get to Zuyderwende quickly. There they look and see what you need to recover. They are honest, something my son and I needed and have as a parent. Not always nice to hear, but extremely necessary for my son's recovery. And that, in my opinion, is what they stand for: what it takes for the addict to recover. They continue to provide aftercare even after the initial treatment period. He is not there yet (by a long way), but I do know that thanks to the people at Zuyderwende my son is on the right track. I am extremely satisfied with my treatment at Zuyderwende. The (group) therapy, my fellow group members and the therapists have helped me very well in my recovery process. It was certainly a tough time, with ups and downs. But anyone who recognizes and acknowledges his or her addiction problems can start with this treatment.
