I am a total novice to diving, so it was with great trepidation that I decided to explore its wonders by attempting the Discovery Scuba Dive My instructor, Gabriel, was quickly able to allay my fears and taught me the basics in the pool, with very clear, easy-to-follow instructions;  how to breathe (very important!) and how to clear your mask.  Soon you’re ready to be taken out on the boat to the dive site. I admit I had a serious heart-pounding, what-the-hell-am-I-doing moment.  But with Gabriel’s reassuring calm, I felt totally at ease and safe.  I am so glad I did this! Now I’m ready to dive deeper into this beautiful sport, so I’m off to do my PADI.  Thank you, Gabriel and your Hikkaduwa team for an amazing, memorable experience.

In February 2024, I made 10 dives, including night dives and three at 30 m. I had an AOWD, but there was a long break. First we went through a refreshment, and we dived for 5 days in a row. I liked everything - the atmosphere, the company, the instructors, the staff. There are instructors from different countries; they try to assign each client an instructor who speaks his language. Everything is organized, everyone knows what they have to do. For my first dives, I was assigned a personal instructor, then I swam in a group. The groups are different, mostly small. We managed to see lobsters, murrens, shrimps, clams, many different reef fish, and swam with a turtle. We swam in ships and between rocks, swam into a grotto. Visibility was excellent, with occasional currents and waves. I recommend Vadim and this dive center for diving of any level. In my time, several companies went to DSD (beginners) and were very pleased.

Hikkaduwa boasts numerous fantastic diving sites, but two of my favorites are Kirala Gala and the SS Conch shipwreck. Kirala Gala is a ~15 meter tall rock at a 37 meter bottom. It's home for vibrant marine life, which is a visual feast for any diver. The SS Conch shipwreck at 19 meters offers a captivating swim-through that adds an extra thrill to the dive. I wholeheartedly recommend Blue Deep Diving Center to anyone seeking an unforgettable diving experience in Hikkaduwa. Trust me; you're in for a treat!

This is the best diving center. New equipment Three diving boats a large catamaran speedboat and a small private boat. Cool team of certified professionals from different countries. Very good service and diving safety. Highly recommend.

I did 2 fundives here and it was great. I went with the divemaster Saman, he was great and very experienced and I felt so safe even down at 37 meters :) All contact and information before hand was with instructor John, he was really helpfull with answering all my 1 thousand questions, he was why i initially chose to dive here! All and all, great dive shop, everyone was nice and professional!!

Did two deep dive and one wreck dive at 21m. All great dives, team are really friendly and welcoming. Nice boats, and good equipment including 15L tanks. Would recommend.

It was my first scuba dive and had been a great experience with Alex (my instructor) around me. The lessons were given with gull knowledge. Well maintained equipments and everything was well explained. Seeing a coral reef for the first time is a humbling experience, especially because almost everything in front of you is alive and part of a delicate ecosystem of life. I am extremely grateful to have experienced my 1st dive with them in Srilanka.. 😍

Despite having been previously recommended with a different dive shop in Hikkaduwa, we ended up at Blue Deep Diving Centre because they offered more flexibility and individual approach in terms of dive site planning compared to the other dive shop. The organization and communication was great, the equipment is well maintained and they also run a relatively spacious boat. Professional and friendly staff and well executed dives. Fully recommended.

Beste Tauchschule in der Umgebung!!! Vor allem die Lehrer. Gesprochen wird ausser Englisch Russisch, Deutsch und Französisch. Ich kann die Tauchschule nur weiterempfehlen. Die Jungs im Zentrum arbeiten wie Ameisen. Man denkt die laufen längst und quer, dabei haben die alles im Griff. Ich konnte nicht so schnell schauen, wie ganze Equipment schon auf dem Boot war. Many thanks to Vadim for an unforgettable 5 days of diving. I did the AOWD and Deep course. Everything went professionally and successfully. Well, we also didn’t forget to joke and laugh.

Cool guys who give impressions safely. This is where I became acquainted with diving, and I can confidently recommend this place. Before going out into open water, the guys had a comprehensive theoretical lesson on land, and then a practical lesson to reinforce the theory at shallow depths. During the dive itself, I always felt safe, because the instructor and diving master, if necessary, would literally lead you by the hand through the beautiful places of the ocean.

These guys are great. It was my first dive, the other folks in our group dint know swimming. John and Jason did a fantastic job in guiding us. We had a great experience overall. Definitely recommend these guys. Marine life was less though. Hoping to dive with them again in deeper waters.

It’s a pity we can’t give more than 5*, this dive center deserves all 10 This was not my first experience, there is something to compare with. They approach the issue as professionally as possible (not like in Egypt it’s👍floating up👌it’s ok👎to the bottom. And from the edge there are trays overboard with all the equipment according to the principle “if you want to live, you’ll float out” "). First, training in shallow water, then we swam to deep water. On high water, the founder of the center, Vadim, was with me, a very cool man, and Andrey in shallow water. I warned about my problem during the dive, they treated me with understanding and attention. Very pleasant and warm atmosphere , I seriously started to think about getting a certificate and I know that this is learning to trust only Vadim and his team. Thank you, you guys are the best. P.S Andrey, thank you. If it weren’t for your words, I would have thought that serious diving was not going to happen to me.

My first time diving - I did a discovery Dive, saw so much and loved it so then did my Padi Open Water qualification over the next few days with John who was an amazing guide and teacher- the whole team at Blue Deep were super friendly and helpful - would 100% recommend and will definitely be returning!! I added snorkeling to my bucket list and was able to fulfill this in November’23 with the support from Blue Deep Diving Center. My friends and I had a great time snorkeling. I even got the chance to go on two rounds. The center had all the equipments for the required sizes. The staff at Blue Deep were very friendly, especially Duminda who was not in a hurry to just finish off his job. He carefully guided each one of us as we do not even know how to swim. Everything was good and worth the price. I recommend Blue Deep Diving Center to anyone who would like to try snorkeling and would go back to them to try diving one-day.

Prices are high for beginners. The trainer didn't take any effort to help us through when we were not learning the skills. Instead we were asked to take a short tour and finish off quickly.

We had a lifetime experience at the Hikkaduwa beach snorkeling with Blue Deep Diving center. Water is very clear, we swam with ornamental fishes, green Turtle, eel while viewing red and purple corals. We were a family of 3 and Chanu was a guide dedicated for us and he was very encouraging and supportive. A must do experience.

Highly recommended. I have been diving with Blue Deep for a while now and I am very impressed with their professionalism and attitude towards divers different requirements. They always go an extra mile to please you and make your experience extra special. I learned they are in the industry for a long time and doing marvelous job in helping divers find hidden gems of beautiful Sri Lanka.

My friends booked a try-dive. The company charged them $50, even though visibility was minimal.... They didn't get to dive at all. (The company knew beforehand, but chose to "instruct" them anyway... then said there was no point in diving that day) ! I have no idea why they had to pay even though they didnt get in the water. Our dive was all right, at best. The dive master was the only bright side to the tour. She was super friendly & kind. Downsides; there was no soap to clear the goggles, other small things that just felt a little unprofessional. Gear was good quality. Overall- i think that they let us dive because there was money to be made.

It was my first dive after the owd course that I had 1.5 years before. So I got the refresh program and repeated everything, I asked to repeat some of the exercises a few times and we were doing it until I felt confident. Then I had 3 dives in the next few days. Instructors are very professional and polite. There are very interesting and beautiful dive sites over Hikkaduva.

Seriously overcharge for rental equipment - 5 times what other shops charge. Staff nice though

Worst experience ever, we booked 2 hours snorkeling but when we arrived they said it's one hour with boat and the second hour only by the beach which is full of rocks. We explained to them that me and my husband cannot swim and they said it's totally fine with life Jacket. Unfortunately we accept the deal as we didn't have any other option early morning but both of us got injured at the beach because of the rocks. What really surprised us is how they deal with the issue when we returned to the centre, they kept saying it's your fault because you don't know how to swim. To be honest tools are new and the life guide was fine but I don't recommend the place at all only for the unprofessional and unclear service and pricing they provide.

The best diving center we found on the coast. Recommended. All equipment is new, a professional team from different countries works. Very warm atmosphere. We will definitely come back, we really enjoyed it. thank you very much for a great time and nice dives.
